There is a small car park (free I guess) and from the car park I walked towards Loch Leven onto Burleigh Sands. The view across the lake and towards Lomond Hills, Loch Leven Castle and other surrounding landmarks are stunning. Apparently there exists a Heritage Trail, which you can walk at your own time, starting in Kinross, passing Burleigh Sands and ends near Loch Leven Lodge where you might enjoy a drink after a long walk. I believe the car park is also useful to visit nearby Burleigh Castle (its about a 3/4 mile walk through grass and woodland). Somehow the lake reminds me of all the King Arthur and Merlin stories and about Excalibur that was thrown into a lake......and might, one day, return to its rightful owner :-) I will definitely be back for a long walk in the summer.

Over the years the park has hosted cross country championships, football tournaments and a host of athletic events for charity. The park has a large pond, with pedalos available for hire (an added bonus!). Furthermore, it has a number of children's play areas, a small animal farm (has a small range of animals) and a number of tennis courts. Beveridge Park always seems busy, and obviously very popular due to the wide variety of facilities on offer!

The park had been left to wreck and ruin and was covered in graffiti and rubbish in recent years but this last year the play area has seen a complete rebuild and the whole park has been cleaned up. The park has many features including formal gardens, play facilities, sporting facilities and a pond where boating is available. It has a large car park which has areas for both car and coach parking and the park hosts a few events throughout the year such as a travelling circus and the Kirkcaldy gala. The park is certainly on its way back up and I hope it makes it back to being the great place it was when I was a kid.

Along side one part of the park is the river, which made for a lovely pit stop. We walked down to the river area which had a wee bench to sit on, and railing to lean on. There are really nice views from this park. I originally wanted to map out a running route for the next morning, but it was after 10pm (and still light out) so my boyfriend thought it best, and most safe to skip the route and just cut through the massive field within the park. There was a huge part of me that felt like running through the field singing "the hills are alive with the sound of music", it just made me that happy! It wouldn't have been the first time my boyfriend has seen me do this. Should we ever visit Perth again, this park will be the perfect spot for a picnic or a nice run. It's a great place!

There is a a HUGE grass area, with footie and rugby posts (Perthshire Rugby Club), a golf course, play area, pentanque, bowls, monuments (a must) and loads of amazing daffodils in Spring! The walk can be a loop of approx 1 mile by the river - completely flat, so good for cyclists, runners, buggies or just lazy people like me!!! TIP - go Sunday mornings when the boys are out playing rugga and footie!

The club was founded in 1817 by some members of the St. Andrews Society of Golfers (later to become the Royal and Ancient Golf Club) who wished to play more golf than the Society's occasional meetings afforded them. James Braid redesigned the present Scotscraig layout in 1923 and it measures 6,669 yards from the back tees with par set at 71. There's plenty of heather and gorse to catch the wayward shot, though it is quite playable. Scotscraig doesn't sit next to the coastline so it is one of those enigmatic courses, which are hard to categorize, as it is neither true links nor heathland or even moorland, but instead is an interesting combination of them all. Since 1984, Scotscraig has hosted the Final Open Qualifying when The Open is played over St Andrews. When the Open returned to St Andrews in 2005, Scotscraig once again hosted Final Open Qualifying. Scotscraig is part of the Links with History program, along with Ladybank, Lundin Links, and Crail. A lot of memorable holes, including the 4th -- also liked 6, 7, 14 and 16 (and the greens were in great shape as well). A really nice course and a great value at £55.00.
