This is a wonderful biodynamic vineyard owned by a lovely family. We highly recommend booking a tasting asap. Laura the owner, gave us a wonderful tour and lunch, complete with appetizers, wine, dessert, and even a cappuccino with her own vineyard honey tasting.
It's hard to pick highlights when everything was truly amazing, so let me just list for you everything.
The WINE. The wine, yes! Great care is taken in planting the vineyard and making this wine like the early Lucca wine makers would. I loved the 2014 vintage as well as the white.
We were even treated to freshly pressed OLIVE OIL, which blows that Bertolli from the grocery store out of the water. We eagerly await our shipment of the bottles we purchased to arrive home, as they are literally being bottled for this season as I write.
Chef Eleonora's LUNCH! OMG, turkey has never tasted so amazing, carefully roasted and draped in jus. The uva focaccia (bread laced with large grapes) was the star of the desserts, having a nice savory quality to compliment the wine.
The VIEW was out of this world, sitting at the foothills of the Appenines and overlooking the Apuane alps. We were fortunate to have a beautiful sunny fall day which let us see far and wide. The villa was serene to sit and drink our honey sweetened beverages, full of history and beautiful treasures.
The vineyard DOGS were wonderful company! Sending pets from afar to Otto and Stella pups. read more
