I got the blue-purplish kimono with reddish prints and came out of the store wearing my new acid-washed long robe. omg! it looked amazing over my jeans and white t-shirt. This was quarantine time so everyone was careful wearing a mask in those tight quarters. The clothing smells like the incense burning inside the store. I chose to come in person as the online variety is limited. I was able to get some colors not in the website. I had to be very disciplined not to over buy. So many nice robes and clothing: t-shirts etc. I could have ran a $200+ tab but was able to get out by only spending $60 cash - get the hint here, cash - they take plastic too. It was final sale bc I haggled a discount. Normally the robe is more pricey. omg! it's worth it. If you have time here is my story: I was walking my daily ten miles and stopped at a convenient store near Cal State LA and saw this tall guy walk in with a killer robe. He was chatting with the clerk for a while. At first, I was bothered to see this guy wearing a hemp-like robe and being so chill about it. I almost wanted to walk up to him and say something like: WTF where you got that chill robe bro? I did not. My feelings were mixed: Envy, admiration and disgust for the evil eye. A few days went by. I thought about it. I looked up acid robes online to no avail or too pricey. I went to the convenient store after several weeks. Until one day, I asked the clerk: Remember the guy wearing a long robe? Where did he get it? She wrote the name of the store for me but no address. So, I looked it up online and found the website but I wanted to get my hands on it asap. I came to yelp and found the brick and mortar store. I drove that same Sunday and set out to find this store. Upon arrival I asked about a robe I saw a tall guy wearing - they knew exactly what I was talking about and pointed me to the robes. None of them looked as nice as my faint memory of his but got one that I liked that complements my skin tone with happy colors: Yellow, green, black on top -- purple, red, black at the bottom with acid-wash circles and fractals. It's amazing. I love it! The material is stretchy and heavy. Amazing quality. Side pockets. Long sleeve. The kimono is equally amazing. It transforms you as you are wearing it. I've taken it to the mall and on my walks: It's semi porous, nice Indian fabric and it keeps me warm during cold nights while keeping me cool on warm days. I've worn it at the outdoors mall in SoCal. The color reminds me of a versatile blanket I purchased decades ago at UO of a similar fabric when I set out to go backpacking on a shoestring in the rainforest. The young woman ay the store hinted the robe was for lounging but I want to have the guts enough to wear it outside but want to feel safe doing it. So, for sure I would go the same convenient store wearing ot but I would drive there rather than walk 10 miles with it. I might not feel safe though I can certainly pull it off wearing it, fashion-wise. I dream of wearing it outside one day and maybe more than once. Weeks later I saw the guy at the convenient store and shared my story with him and how it led me on a crusade to find it. He was chill and was kind enough to make the time to listen to me and giving me a smile and a happy comment. He is a fashion designer. read more

It is worth the drive, the park and trying to find out where it is since they closed the Santee entrance. Go in on the 11th and Santee entrance to the Alley and you will find it! At least not until I heard one of his employees call his name*** Best customer service in the business. AWESOME VIBE, it's like stepping into another world. I could honestly lose myself in there for hours. Any way, not only did they help me find what I was looking for, but they were patient with me and took the time to answer all my questions. The employees there were well informed on the merchandise they were selling. I tend to be extremely picky and indecisive so it's hard not to want to buy everything in the store! For example, you constantly have to find an associate to ask how much things are because each item could either be five dollars or $50. Sometimes it feels like they're just throwing out a number. It's fun to stumble upon this store when you're shopping around downtown, but if you're driving there just for this thinking you'll get downtown deals, you may be wrong. I bought a tiny Himalayan salt night lamp for $15 here and had a feeling it wasn't right but went ahead & got it along other cute rocks I'd selected. The bigger lamps are $65. Days later, I found the same big lamps for $20 in other local stores. Other than inconsistent pricing, this is a cute little shop with good music. P.s. They do follow you around and it gets weird, but I understand bc it's downtown. It is nothing like the rest of the fashion district santee alley, which is mostly just cheap ghetto knock off makeup and toys. Very rude and unfriendly staff, at least the guy I had an encounter with. Came here on a Saturday and wanted to get a necklace and some incense. I didn't see prices marked anywhere, so I got in line for the checkout to ask for pricing and make a purchase. Besides a necklace being totally overpriced for a Santee Alley vendor, I was dismissed when inquiring about pricing for the incense. I had already waited in line patiently and didn't appreciate the dismissive attitude mid-transaction, paired with some dirty looks "how dare I think this necklace was overpriced". Based on that I decided not to purchase anything at that store, put down the items on the checkout table and walked out.
