Wow! All the reviews are right! We don't even like Mexican, but we love this place! Great food, wonderful service, huge portions, and fun ambiance.

The food, the drinks, the service... did I just find the best Mexican restaurant in Colorado?? Everything is incredible. I can't wait to come back and try more items. Honestly blown away by this place. Mezcalita is a must.

TYM is a nice little Mexican joint next to Safeway with ample parking. They have a good-sized outdoor patio if the weather is nice. The first time I visited on a weekday at lunch time it was dead inside except one table, I stood around for 3 minutes in the entrance til a staff member came out to take my order. On my second visit it was busier so I was able to find someone quicker. I get the lunch combo of 2 chicken enchiladas, rice, and pinto beans (they have refried too but no black beans). Very decent price for the large portion and above average quality. Good ratio of sauce/cheese/chicken/tortilla, almost too much chicken actually. Rice is fresh and the beans are solid. Very filling. I don't get Mexican much since I was spoiled for choice in Southern California, but when I am craving it, this is my current go-to spot.

We've become regulars here, and the whole staff knows our order by heart. I highly recommend the Chorizo con Queso, and the Carne Asada plate is big enough to share! 10/10 would still highly recommend Tequila y Mezchal to anyone in the area looking for good Mexican food.

A great local Mexican Restaurant Northwest of Denver! I would definitely be coming here again. Service was great on a busy Saturday night and food came out relatively quickly! My carne asada enchiladas were 3 enchiladas stuffed with carne asada and generously topped with cheese. Definitely a large portion and very filling!

Super fresh ingredients. Friendly, competent staff. Quaint, clean, festive interior. Salsa is fantastic. Had chicken tacos (basic white gal here), and the shredded chicken was so savory and flavorful!

Enchiladas suizas - such a giant portion!

I'm a pretty huge fan of Mexican food... I am also a pretty huge fan of convenient Mexican food lol. Tequila y Mezchal is a fairly new little corner restaurant that is right across the street from my home. I've been in a few times since they opened and each time was a good experience. This restaurant used to be an Italian place that served breakfast on the weekends (just your normal, run of the mill stuff), but in all the time I've lived in my home, it was hardly ever busy; even when there were patrons, I don't feel I ever saw the place completely full. That said, I think TyM was a super great choice for a swap. I'm always a fan of easy parking, and since the restaurant is within a larger strip mall type area, parking is abundant. The restaurant itself it pretty small; think cute little family owned business in a relatively small, laid back community. They've got a small patio, as well, for when the weather is nice. Since the pandemic, they've been running on a skeleton staff since I started going in for lunch about a year or so ago, but each time I have been in, the same super cute and sweet woman has helped us out - each time, she's had the most positive, upbeat attitude. Her smile is always very visible, too, even behind the mask. Now on to the good stuff! The menu is pretty extensive. Like I mentioned, I've been in for lunch each visit, and the options for lunch-sized portions are vast. I've tried a couple of different things so far, and each dish has been super yummy. The dishes come out piping hot, and despite them being very short staffed, things come out pretty quick. The price point is more than reasonable, too, especially considering the size of the portions. I feel you could easily make one lunch dish into two entire meals... and that's just the lunch size. I'd be curious to see how giant the dinner portions are LOL. I will be back - hopefully more often than I have Ben historically - because it is an awesome place, and I love supporting local businesses. If you're in the area and feeling peckish, I'd recommend it!

My husband and I had just flown in and were starving, so we came here. They were packed which is always a good sign! My husband got some chicken enchiladas that he loved and I got the Poncho Villa Burrito and added jalapeños -- IT WAS HUGE!!!! Our waitress, Lupita, was so sweet and nice, even with being how busy she was. She never lost her smile, and didn't act as though she was stressed.. Even though I'm sure she was! We ate outside on the patio and it was so great!

I was hoping for some professional behavior and I did not receive it. Obviously, they know us, reminds me of those tawdry fights in elementary school. All of this, due to my personal opinion, being transparent provides with facts and/or truth, about treatment(s) and/or interaction(s), being a customer and patron We are human beings; I try to believe, benefit of doubt and, possibly, endured bad day, etc., instead, they retaliated and my food, pretty much inedible, waste of my $$, time and effort(s) left w/o meal, meaning I didn't get to eat. Again, I placed my order, asking for an order of cheese enchiladas, with rice and beans, I can recite entire convo, verbatim, BUT waste of time and effort. I have attached picture. I am VERY specific, no "coleslaw" and requested please replace with lettuce and tomatoes. Nope, they put such a large amount intentionally ruining my entire meal, we're scoping it out and it was clear Last time, I left review in regards, small amount toping, being spicy, no matter how specific my request(s) their inability, remove their so-called, supposed non-spicy "coleslaw" and res, seemed huffy puffy and defensive, due to inability or unaware it was "coleslaw" and stated, "...it is not spicy!" (yeah right!) you can smell it, aroma strong enough, hurts one's eyes, prior to removal of top and this time, very specific about removal altogether; being non-spicy (marked as non-spicy) smothered in red sauce ALSO, portion of "coleslaw" covering, most of food. It is in retaliation, due to my initial review, written in transparency, with facts and/or true interactions with this business. return, our effort(s) a break; and, for ppl like us, we decided to give it another chance. It was more, than wasting our money, my husband and I, literally scooping out, due to (supposed non-spicy) "coleslaw" being spread out, on top everywhere, infiltrating most of food. The "coleslaw" is spicy enough to smell & hurt my eyes, which left not much to eat. I should have only given one star but they don't allow feedback, blocks review and suggest I guess, leaving an honest review, due to little bit of criticism, vendor is incapable of remaining professional and basically, acting immature. Maybe, want to ensure we cannot order anything, from thereon. They do not care, they are fully aware of our extenuating circumstances and situation, being we are only a couple, empty-nesters and my husband is left to be my only caregiver and know us, we used to order several times, weekly. We have to depend on our local vendors, in attempts to possibly, provide, explore and personally, means a lot to us, in choosing and supporting family-owned businesses.

Pretty delicious and spicy actually means spicy. The place was busy so don't be surprised if you have to wait a few minutes. Can't wait to try it again.

Does this business plan on re-opening? There are no details on their website or voicemail noting they are closed, however, seem to have been closed for months now.

I live right across the street; they have a sign posted on the front door saying they'd be opening "February-ish" of 2022. I assume they lost a lot of inventory, etc. with the Marshall Fire, but surrounding businesses have been open for a while. I'm… Read more

We had a commitment for the evening, so we went for "Linner," between lunch and dinner time. It was a quiet time, which worked out well for us, as we received plenty of attention from Guillermo, who I believe is the owner. We were there during a time when we could order off the brunch, lunch, or entree menu. Lots of choices! My husband ordered the flautas with beef (they have chicken listed on the menu, but since everything is from scratch, they were able to adjust). He declared them delicious. He said they were nice and crispy, and he loved the sauce! I knew before I arrived that I wanted Mole enchiladas. They have four different kinds of enchiladas with a choice of fillings: chicken, pork, beef, or cheese. I chose pork. These enchiladas were served with the mole on top, a very pretty presentation. He told us that the mole recipe came from his mother! And, they were delicious. Both meals came with a nice little dinner salad. And, because it was my birthday, Guillermo gave me dessert. I had flan, which is served on top of a sauce. I think he said it was passion fruit. Complex flavors from start to finish! The flan had a delicious coconut flavor. Both my husband and I savored it. There are so many items on their menu that I want to try, to see their own creative twist. They blend different Latin American flavors, so it's a Latin fusion menu. Can't wait to go back!

The arepa was everything I could've ever wanted and it didn't fall apart while eating it even though it was super full which was good because that does happen often with poorly made arepas. I also got the sweet fried plantains which had cheese and their special sauce and were so so good. The employees were kind and attentive and the food came out in about 5 minutes because there was pretty much no line. I loved this place and wish I lived in Boulder so I could get it more often.
