A person could probably spend an entire day in there and still have things to look at another time! The staff are very kind, helpful and very knowledgeable! And for a many, many years there's been a sign up about beverages being prohibited... if it were me, I would've just gone back to Caribou and finished my drink and then I'd go in the store. And if you feel like you are being followed around the store, just politely say, "if I have any questions, I will let you know." I'm sure the person was trying to be helpful. ***Also, there's only one side of the counter the customers should stand, or go behind!!! Also, the incense belongs there. Aesthetically enriching store! The use of their space is by far the best quality of product per square inch I've ever seen on display. In consideration of the seemingly constant rotation of selection, it warrants budgeting time to visit regularly. Last, but certainly not least, the prices are fair and competitive. Purchasing products in this space will often leaving you scrolling through pages of a website, but the tactile experience cannot be beat! 5 stars! read more

I'm laughing at these "Karen's" in the comment section, crying about not being able to have their drink in the store. Of all of the things to complain about, when simply leaving your coffee in your car or perhaps grabbing ones coffee after shopping would be a simple solution. These comentors haven't worked retail before if they are not familiar with drinks being forgotten on displays, or set down on the ground and kicked over etc. Its a pain in the rear and I don't blame the owner's for their drink policy. That said, this store is absolutely beautiful. Its a feast for the eyes, and people who appreciate incense and the 'mystical' aesthetic will feel right at home. Yes the shop keepers keep a close eye on you, it didn't bother me though because I am not a thief. Having them close also means you can ask them lots of questions and they are able to help you reach things that are tricky to get to due to display. I struggled looking at beaded bracelets because of how they are kept on the display but the employee there was very helpful in helping me take them off the display and letting me try them on. The only thing I have to ding them on is that they sell white sage, and palo santo. If you don't know, "smudging" and these items are sacred practices by Indigenous people and shouldn't be appropriated by non indigenous people who do not understand the importance of and practical use of these items. I will not buy that sort of thing because I am non Indigenous and there are plenty of other options to use for cleansing (i.e blue sage, rosemary, lavender, cedar etc.) I am hoping in the future the shop takes this into consideration, or at least has a display that educates shoppers on who and what white sage is suited for. All in all, I like this shop alot. Its a great place if you are a respectful shopper. read more

To be sure this store is packed to the rafters with interesting items! Watch your purse and your backside so as not to knock anything down. But if you can keep your balance and poise you will discover a world of the eclectic and fantastic. This is NOT a gift shop. It is a merchant for the mercurial. I found many wonderful healing stones whose prices healed my soul as well. Coming from the Metro I have been to shops where the selection is larger but had less variety and much more sticker shock. As for the reviewer that was disappointed in not being able to carry her coffee into the store. The sign on the door was up in January 2015 when I stopped and again in February 2016 when I visited again. Specifically listing DRINKS. With so much stock that can be easily soiled and so little wiggle room in the store I can imagine the exasperation at missing the well worded sign. read more

I was really excited about visiting this store as I have heard great things about the unique and beautiful stones & beads. Immediately upon entering I set my iced coffee down on a table because I didn't want anyone to be rude about me holding it while shopping.. The man working said "you wanna put that drink by the register so you don't get my counters all dirty ?" Super condescending and unnecessary! There were no signs about where to set drinks. Then, he basically watched us and followed us around the store like we were going to steal something. There were signs everywhere about shoplifting, so maybe they've had issues in the past. But it was very uncomfortable to have someone eyeing you the whole time. It's the kind of store you want to take a while to look around in. When our grandma asked about the pricing on some items, he snapped at her and said "well it's written on there if you look" But it actually wasn't ! At this point I was pretty angry. Then my boyfriend and I were browsing through some beads in drawers, and he rudely came over and said "you guys know you shouldn't be on that side of the display, the drawers are meant to come out on the other side" Then I was done. I have never experienced such awful customer service, and it's really unfortunate because the store is really cool and I would've spent a lot more time and money there had the environment been more welcoming. read more

I recently moved to Grand Rapids from Minneapolis. My husband had stopped into Terra Reflections and said I may like looking around in the small gift shop. Today was the day. It's conveniently located in a strip mall next to a caribou. I got an iced tea and headed into Terra. Besides being immediately slapped in be face with the smell of incense and walls of beads and sparkly gems (not really my thing), the man working (maybe the owner?) immediately came up to me, pointed at my obviously offensive drink, and said nothing. I asked 'Do you not want me to have this in here?'. He sighed and said I could put it up by the register. I turned around and left. I understand if you worry about beverages spilling and possibly snuffing out all of your burning incense, but I am an adult with a drink that is safely covered with a lid. Even if you were still very concerned, there is a better way to handle the situation. read more

Terra is a beautiful place to go relax when your stressed and go look at amazing crystals! They have a wide selection of things to crystals to clothes and it is very neat and organized. The workers there are very helpful and will tell you everything about items in the shop and give you helpful hints to the powers of each crystal. Nothing bad about this place all positive comments and a lot of the crystals are very reasonably priced and they have anything you can think of from amethyst to a piece of a meteor from millions of years ago! read more
