Trendy for trendy sake. Not a large menu but covers the bases; fish, chicken, beef, pork, Italian. I was with a group so 3 of the appetizers which the best was the shrimp with nuts. The others were typical Italian. I ordered the beef tenderloin with rosemary potatoes. It was some of the best I and a couple others ever had but later that night it really disagreed with me. Location in the basement means it is one of those dark classic places that the rat pack would hang out. Service was what was expected. It is a little pricey to me but others from Chicago might not think so.

Excellent service and (potentially) the best restaurant in the area. The ambiance is certainly influenced by who wants the fire turned off because they get too hot, but it is a beautiful place. The food is lovely and very reasonably priced for the quality. The drinks are complex and fantastic. The wine selection is well balanced, even for by-the-glass options. A great pick for a special occasion.

We stayed in the hotel and booked a spot in the dining room to celebrate my birthday for dinner. The restaurant books up fast so highly recommend planning ahead and making reservations early! We started with the pesce marinata. It was a very fresh mix of seafood. The calabrian chili oil has a kick to it and it was a bit too spicy for me. We ended up order focaccia as well to soak up some of the extra sauce. Next, we shared the pappardelle pasta which they conveniently split into two portions. The pasta was fresh, flavorful, and pretty filling! For the grand finale we went big and split the bistecca. The chef himself brought it to the table which made it feel extra special. The meat was cut off the bone into slices which made it super convenient. We ordered it medium rare but there were some pretty large rare sections (not complaining though because it was delicious). The mashed potatoes were also super smooth and full of flavor. We finished things off with the gianduja torte. I was a bit bummed since I saw on other Yelp reviews that they provided complimentary bread and a birthday dessert which was not true. Our waiter also didn't seem to know the specials or menu all too well to provide recommendations. That aside, the vibe and food were excellent!

Seated on the patio with a beautiful evening would probably have been enough but the food here is exceptional. We started with grilled calamari and meatballs both excellent. We also had rigatoni with sausage and peas and fettuccine with duck both excellent. Our service was great also excellent drinks and dessert. Would recommend to anyone visiting New Buffalo

I love the atmosphere of the hotel and the restaurant. They have some really nice fireplaces. I stopped in for dessert and drinks. Friendly staff I loved the tiramisu and the Carosella drink. The Aperol Spritz was a little more bitter than it should be but it was ok. The hazlenut tart was ok. The chocolate cake is just not good. Dry and bland, not sure how that made it on the menu in a place like this. I got a Terrace salad to go. The pictures may not be great because it was pretty dark inside. Overall, I liked it well enough and would try some other things here. I have also been to their other restaurant, Bentwood Tavern. Both nice restaurants in very nice hotels.

The Terrace Room consistently has great food, knowledgeable servers and inventive cocktails. They recently added a few new menu items which was a great idea for those who go often and want to keep the staples but try something new. The cozy fireplace and marina views are perfect for date night, or dinner with friends. Going solo? They have a great wrap around bar with dinner service available on a first come first served basis.

The food was amazing, especially the terrace salad, and the ravioli. Service was rendered by Miss Allison, very friendly, very charming and Miss Allison was very attentive. Overall, we had an excellent experience. As we celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary.. Thank you, Miss Allison!!! by the way, the food recommendations were made by Allison.

We stay at the Harbor Grand regularly but usually stick to more casual food when we're in New Buffalo... but we had a great experience here this last trip and will definitely add Terrace Room to our permanent rotation. Beautiful atmosphere no matter where you sit in the restaurant. My personal favorites were the Terrace salad, zucchini side and tiramisu.

The food was outstanding and the ambiance was fabulous. The dining room after dark is romantically lit by candles, creating a wonderful atmosphere. The halibut was incredible and full of flavor. This experience definitely deserves five stars. We will be returning.

Setting is fantastic. Food flavoring was on point! For an app we had Gamberi and it was just perfect (is licking bowl ok?). Salads were great and Cesar with anchovies was great. Hazelnut salad was also yummy. My wife asked them to surprise her and she got the Ravioli and barely shared it. Yes, the Tarimsu is as good as everyone says. I had the steak, perfectly cooked only thing I would have preferred mashed potatoes not the way they were served. Service was good and our waitress was filling in from the sister restaurant (Terrace is so much better!). We will be back!

We also had some trouble connecting to the room's speaker to play our music, and the staff was so patient and determined to help. On a recent family trip, it was suggested that we stop in for a late lunch. Given that it was a holiday and a lack of other options in the area, I went along. When you first step inside, you'll notice that it wants so hard to be an Irish sports bar. Lots of sports memorabilia and statues accompany cheesy, over-done Irish slogans and designs. With its location, the sports angle is a logical slant. I get it. However, this is no Irish pub. One section of the restaurant is elegant, with linen napkins and beautiful dark wood trim. Its appearance is reminiscent of Victorian age dining and probably more typical of a finer resort-style atmosphere. Another section is a little less fancy, with white tablecloths and a more casual appearance. A third option, where we dined, is in the sports bar area, complete with patio and view of the golf course. The menu is fairly typical pub fare: burgers, sandwiches, soups, salads, and appetizers. I didn't see anything that stood out. With the exception of a shepherd's pie, it also lacked curry fries, which was disappointing, given the facade of an Irish pub. Right off the bat, I suspected we were in for a lacking experience when we were told that the staff was short-handed due to the holiday. I initially cut them a bit of slack because I understood. However, that's where my forgiveness ended. Our server, apparently covering the entire place, won no points when she took our drink orders and couldn't tell us what they had on tap for beers, nor did she have a list. The group ordered a few appetizers, including wings. For my meal, I opted for a turkey burger with avocado. The wings were barely flavored, except with too much salt and the only redeeming qualities were that they were crispy and served with both ranch and blue cheese dressing. The celery was even a tad soggy. My turkey burger was served to me with an added note that they were out of avocado. Had I been told that from the beginning, I would've ordered something else. The burger was peppery and also quite salty and the bun barely stood up to the challenge of keeping my tomato in place. The sodium levels gave me a hint that it was probably a frozen, low-quality patty. Ick. I drank far too much soda and water to try to keep my heart rate down for the rest of the day. The fries were also nothing special and also likely frozen items. The plus of the place is that the patio does have a pretty view of the golf course. If you like golf courses, that is. Other than that, it's a way to enjoy the outside and there are a lot of tables and room to walk around. If you're looking for a place to park yourself for some drinks and conversation this may just be the spot for you. I'd consider giving the other dining options a chance, though I wouldn't count on seeing me here anytime soon. Otherwise, if you do, I've been driving around the area looking for something resembling civilization and was hungry or drug along for family time when I'm not the decision-maker.
