The meatballs were incredibly light, tender, and flavorful, and the accompanying focaccia was just as impressive. It was fresh, crusty, and perfect for soaking up every bit of sauce. For my entrée, I ordered the rigatoni. The house-made pasta was cooked perfectly, and the slightly spicy tomato sauce had just the right amount of heat. The generous portion of sausage made the dish hearty without being overwhelming, and the portion size was spot on. I made a 6:30pm reservation and noted the occasion, and the staff sweetly sat us right by the window with a stunning view of Lake Michigan. I started the night with an Aperol Spritz. While their menu doesn't explicitly label items as gluten-free, I had called ahead and knew they could accommodate me. The appetizer options were a bit limited, so we shared the Brussels to start, followed by the corn and tomato risotto for my main, which was delicious. Our server was relatively new but incredibly attentive, even making sure to double-check with the kitchen that everything was safely GF. They offer multiple gluten-free options for mains and desserts, including GF pasta. We shared the ricotta cheesecake, and our server also brought out a complimentary chocolate mousse with orange slices and a birthday candle. Great kind of bistro/ formal dining vibe. Kind of like a grotto looking out on the new buffalo harbor. The pasta was perfectly done; though my seafood pasta special didn't have the variety of seafood I was expecting and did not excite me. My friend had a pork dish that she said was outstanding. However,the desserts were a thing of great beauty and inspiring. I had a strawberry sorbet with some lemon flavor that was great. The chocolate cake was like a mix between a regular cake and a flourless chocolate cake. It was, as a client of mine once described a 67 Camaro; "superb, awesome and pretty nice!" The others were typical Italian. I ordered the beef tenderloin with rosemary potatoes. It was some of the best I and a couple others ever had but later that night it really disagreed with me. Location in the basement means it is one of those dark classic places that the rat pack would hang out. Service was what was expected. We stayed in the hotel and booked a spot in the dining room to celebrate my birthday for dinner. The restaurant books up fast so highly recommend planning ahead and making reservations early! We started with the pesce marinata. It was a very fresh mix of seafood. The calabrian chili oil has a kick to it and it was a bit too spicy for me. We ended up order focaccia as well to soak up some of the extra sauce. Next, we shared the pappardelle pasta which they conveniently split into two portions. The pasta was fresh, flavorful, and pretty filling! For the grand finale we went big and split the bistecca. The chef himself brought it to the table which made it feel extra special. The meat was cut off the bone into slices which made it super convenient. We ordered it medium rare but there were some pretty large rare sections (not complaining though because it was delicious). The mashed potatoes were also super smooth and full of flavor. We finished things off with the gianduja torte. I was a bit bummed since I saw on other Yelp reviews that they provided complimentary bread and a birthday dessert which was not true. Our waiter also didn't seem to know the specials or menu all too well to provide recommendations. That aside, the vibe and food were excellent! read more

The service felt rushed from start to finish, making it seem like they wanted to turn the table over as quickly as possible rather than let us enjoy our meal. For the price, the quality of the steak was far below expectations--it was a poor cut and not worth the premium cost. The outdoor seating was also uncomfortable, as the tables weren't equipped to provide adequate shade or relief from the sun and heat. The only redeeming quality of the meal was the homemade pasta, which was excellent. Overall, the experience simply didn't justify the price, and I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

I love the atmosphere of the hotel and the restaurant. They have some really nice fireplaces. I stopped in for dessert and drinks. Friendly staff I loved the tiramisu and the Carosella drink. The Aperol Spritz was a little more bitter than it should be but it was ok. The hazlenut tart was ok. The chocolate cake is just not good. Dry and bland, not sure how that made it on the menu in a place like this. I got a Terrace salad to go. The pictures may not be great because it was pretty dark inside. Overall, I liked it well enough and would try some other things here. I have also been to their other restaurant, Bentwood Tavern. Both nice restaurants in very nice hotels. read more

Dinner out with a bachelorette group. We shared the focaccia and the Arancini and they didn't disappoint. I had the Pappardelle with the Bolognese sauce and it was delicious. Someone else had the ravioli and they were delicious as well. They had a special that night of a seared Branzino fish with an Olive topping with fresh asparagus that was phenomenal. We were seated at our requested corner table in the bar area adjacent to the windows overseeing the patio and marina. We started with the House Salad which was elevated by the hazelnuts and fresh orange wedges -- highly recommend. We also opted for the Scampi Al Forno starter, jumbo shrimp baked in pinot grigio, with basil, bread crumbs and pine nuts. The broth it is served in is perfect for dipping the complimentary bread in -- a delicious way to fully enjoy the flavor profile. As with prior visits, my husband ordered the Spaghetti & Meatballs, which is the most magically delicious entrée of its nature to be found anywhere. We also ordered one for carryout -- that's just how delicious it is!! I went with the featured Pasta of the Week which was a moderate-sized portion of housemade spaghetti tossed with lemon ricotta/crema and crushed pistachios -- loved it! Absolutely outstanding experience, both for the food and the staff going above and beyond throughout the evening. I was visiting a childhood friend and we decided to take a road trip to Michigan for the day. After a day of outdoor exploring and enjoying the marina area, we looked for restaurants in the area for dinner. Terrace Room caught our eye and we placed a reservation through the online system. I loved that you could request outdoor seating through the portal, although they do note that this seating is not guaranteed. We were seated at 5:00 and enjoyed a lovely dinner by the boat dock. Our waiter was excellent and checked on us as we enjoyed our drinks and food. I had the risotto for dinner and it was fantastic. I also had the refreshing limoncello cocktail, which was very well balanced. (I am bummed I can't visit here regularly because the food was top notch.) After the check arrived with some adorable sprinkle cookies, I suddenly got very hot and nauseated. Concerned that I might be having some issues with the heat, as we had been in the 80+ degree weather for about seven hours at this point, I decided to head inside. As soon as I crossed through the door, my body decided to give up on me and I dropped to the ground with heat exhaustion. The staff was amazing. They immediately came to my aid, as I had to lie down to regain my bearings and cool down. I want to give special thanks to Bella. She told me she's training to be a nurse and she was amazing. I was pretty much freaking out and very embarrassed about the situation, but she helped me to calm me down, put cold towels on my head, and made sure I could sit up safely once I felt better. My deepest thanks to all the staff members who helped me! I'm definitely going to make it a priority to return here next time I'm in the area. (I'll be more careful about my heat exposure and hydration before dinner next time!) read more

With the delicious bread dipped in olive oil and Parmesan cheese, we decided to split the pasta and green beans. The three types of sauce on the homemade ravioli complimented the pasta, really elevating the flavor. Green beans were scrumptious being a little charred.
