Decided to try this unique coffeeshop located in a boiler room in the courtyard of an old school building. There was a parking lot and also street parking available. You walk up to their window and I ordered the grapefruit brown sugar latte. Just like the location the taste was also unique with your typical brown sugar latte with a hint of grapefruit that is not too overpowering. I've only been here once, but based on that visit, this is a great little coffee bar! My latte was milk-forward, not coffee-forward; that's how I like it, though your mileage may vary. Nevertheless, it had a definite rich coffee presence. And somehow, they managed to give the milk an extra-creamy mouthfeel! The server was very warm and friendly. The price was on the low side, so that's a plus. Note that this is just a small outbuilding, with no indoor seating, only tables outside. However, there's lots of easy parking. We came back after some time, and we were pleasantly surprised to see the new setup--no more food truck! The place now has plenty of outdoor seating with sun umbrellas, making it much more comfortable. Service was quick (definitely faster than when it was a food truck) and just as friendly as always. The grapefruit brown sugar latte was excellent! The first sip had a hint of grapefruit, followed by a smooth and flavorful brown sugar latte. Next time, I'd probably go for half sweet, but that's just my preference. We also tried the breakfast tacos from El Xolo Tacos, and they were definitely worth it! Terrible Love is easily one of my top 5 favorite coffee spots in Austin. This beautiful outdoor gem was transformed from a boiler room into a stunning space that captures that old Austin charm. The workers here are super kind and knowledgeable, always ready to make the perfect cup. I always go for the Terrible Latte--it's honestly the perfect cup of coffee. Subtle hints of banana pudding and chocolate combined with an incredible espresso and smooth milk make it a flavor bomb in the best way. The first time I discovered this place, I had it every day for 3 days straight! I even brought my mom here, and she's tough to please, but she loved it too. She was so cute taking pictures of all the beautiful flowers around. Speaking of flowers, they really make this place stunning--but during the summer, there's a large presence of bees and wasps because of the plants. I'm deathly allergic to them, but I'm always willing to risk a sting for that amazing latte. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and check out Terrible Love. I had heard good things about this coffee shop from my friends so we decided to make our run club meeting spot Terrible Love when we finished around when they open at 7:30am. I had heard it gets pretty busy so wanted to check it out before a big line formed but even right at 7:30 there was still a line so expect a wait. But in this case it's a good sign because everyone is after their delicious coffee. I got a vanilla latte. Quality of ingredients and beans tasted very good and quality wise, I think it's one of the better coffee shops in Austin. Also got a chocolate filled pastry that was also tasty. Terrible Love is anything but terrible. I recently discovered this cool coffee shop while on a walk. It's all outdoor seating, but the whole place is surrounded by plants and flowers so it feels like you're chilling in a garden. The menu's small, which I liked, and the grapefruit brown sugar latte I got was amazing! Not too sweet, but you get a good balance of the coffee, grapefruit and brown sugar. They have some fun drinks that I will def. consider trying the next time I stop by. It's super laid-back, the vibes are great, and there's decent parking nearby which is a nice bonus. This is a small unassuming coffee trailer tucked between an old school building. The owner was friendly, and through our conversation, we learned more about his journey with coffee as a hobby and a profession. The coffee trailer has home-y vibes, and there was a cassette tape playing! We got the 12 oz terrible love latte ($6) and grapefruit brown sugar oat milk latte ($6)! Both of them were delicious! There are 2 milk options: oat milk and whole milk. No extra charge for choosing one over the other. He uses house made syrups. The terrible love latte has chocolate and banana syrups. I love banana desserts (especially banana bread), so having it in coffee form was so unique and delightful! I was also very curious about the grapefruit brown sugar oat milk latte. This menu item seems to change seasonally, because I saw on a previous menu picture that there was a chai latte option. I thought the grapefruit would be too sour in coffee, but I was very surprised! There was a subtle grapefruit taste (citrus + slightly sour) at the end of your sip. As the drink cooled down, you could taste the flavors more!! Overall, this was such a home run experience! I saw Terrible Love mentioned on a Reddit post which gave me any indication to its existence, so I decided to try it on a Saturday morning. The small coffee truck isn't immediately noticeable when you're driving on the street, but there's a sign in the grass that says "Coffee" which lets you know you're turning into the right area. There's a good sized parking lot as well which is always super nice when going somewhere new in Austin. As it's only one person manning the truck, there does get to be a line, which in the summer is not ideal (but that may just be my own personal gripe with the heat) but it doesn't move too slowly. I ordered a simple iced vanilla latte with whole milk and it came out to $5.95. I didn't specify a size so I assume there is only one standard size served at the truck, and it's a little smaller than the standard to-go coffee size I'm used to. (I'd say maybe around 12 oz give or take?) But overall the coffee is nice! I'm no coffee snob so good coffee is just good coffee read more

Terrible Love Coffee...is an adventure. As I drove to find the shop I was worried it was another map mishap. Happily it wasn't. The coffee shop is tucked in a small building by the basketball court with a small pink/blue sign to show you the way. The entry way is littered with wildflowers and a paved walkway. There are a few tables to sit with friends or meet people while you wait for you drink. The service was phenomenal and everyone so kind...I can tell this small coffee shop is part of the community as a patron brought up a mega phone prior to me ordering. It's great to see people support local/small businesses and have a communal connection. I got the TRRBL a latte a 12oz. With a total of three shots. I will say I am not a fan of sweet drinks but this one is amazing!! The immediate first sip is like a smooth hit of banana pudding espresso. I am beyond floored by the flavor and quality. I stumbled upon this coffee trailer by googling coffee shops near where I was at the time. I got the spicy ginger chai with a shot of espresso and oat milk, iced. It was really good! I wasn't sure what to expect from ginger in the chai, but it's subtle enough that it didn't overpower the chai flavor but added a little extra flavor. I think the owner was the one who made my drink and he was very nice. We just chatted about the area and how long he'd been at the current location while he made my drink. I think Yelp hasn't been updated, but he's by Avenue B and 40th, near The Rosette theater (not on manor anymore).
