Okay I was in the local secondary school and crisp sandwiches were really popular in those times, I remember some girls even using their bus fare too get this lovely lunch. I suppose you would need to walk home and get the exercise if you ate that many crisp sandwiches! Anyway, Lynam's is the local newsagent/ convenience store for the local school and the locals around Lower Goatstown. It has all the usual things a newsagent has but this one is special because it also has a post office! Yes, that's right this shop has that very Irish multifunction thing going on and very handy it is too!

There was roasted butternut squash, feta and caramelised onion on it. Their breakfast pizza was pretty impressive too. If Lynams keep on this track, they'll be the Mortons or Donnybrook Fair of Goatstown. The shop also doubles as a post office which is always a bonus. We went away with a nice Chablis and Fleurie, both of which were lovely wines. The area is lucky to have Lynams, it's not your average newsagent.

First, the price is right, as you won't find a better deal in town. Next, this college campus community has everything; from bars, restaurants, and a convenience store you're sure to feel at home. Also, UCD boasts a rockstar staff, and you'll find someone willing to help you at every turn. Finally, yes the distance into town was a bear, but I soon discovered that a bus goes from campus to the center of town every 30 minutes or so.

You can get some good deals and microwave meals to save time. Also have great homemade cookies for only €3 for 3. Many of their fruits are questionable in freshness and many of their foods expire the next day. Best to come here for a quick energy drink or candy. Full shopping here can be costly and their selection is limited. You're paying for convenience essentially. The service here is pretty good, with attentive and friendly staff. Some stocking issues have come up and it can be hard to navigate around staff bringing stuff in. The ambiance is cramped, much better to shop at a full size store. Can't spend more than 10 minutes before lines and floor space backs up

It has a wide selection of freshly baked goods, doughnuts, sandwiches, tarts, you name it. Coffee is great, most creamy latte I've had in a while, and a large tea collection including a Puerh teabag. Wonders! I got the blueberry and custard tartlette, biggest sugar rush ever! This cafe is inviting to sit and watch the world go by Stillorgan Road. I blissfully whizz past the maxol at the end of my estate, I practically vault past the Esso on beach road and on to that veritable bastion of all things nice and lovely... the new Applegreen on the N11. The shop is huge and the staff friendly, they have a really nice café in there and a hot deli counter that just screams "relax, have a coffee, maybe try one of these oh so delicious breakfast rolls or perhaps just a warm buttery croissant.
