This is precisely what I use this Sainsburys for as I usually order my groceries online. However, this is a big enough grocery shop to do ones' weekly shop in, which I have done occasionally. There is generally a decent selection of goods in this large store and it's also perfect for stopping in later at night on the way home from a meal in Bromley to pick up that spare bottle of wine or that extra pint of ice cream!

Okay, so first of all, this isn't open 24 hours; least of all on a Sunday, when it closes at 5PM…read morealong with every other grocery store in the area. That being said, even during the lockdowns, it is open fairly late and is really only one of two stores on this street that can be considered an actual supermarket. Enormous though it is- by UK standards- it isn't hard to get around inside and has two floors to keep things simple and easy to navigate, as well as an underground parking garage for those who dare to drive on these streets. Food and seasonal grocery-related items are on the bottom; clothing, toiletries, cookware, toys, and everything else are on the top. The prices here are very good for most items, and the quality ranges from, "I wouldn't trust this," to "I'll take ten!" The variety alone makes it worth the trip and the rather long checkout queues, as you're likely to be able to find everything you need in one go. Just don't expect a whole lot from the staff, as most will give you a lukewarm response, at best. If for any reason, you don't find what you're looking for, there are two other- smaller- grocery stores just a few minutes' walk down the street. And personally, I rather like walking here. Streatham High Street has a nice homey vibe to it.

There was something in particular I was looking for and while they didn't have it, 2 different associates were very nice in trying to help me locate it at another store. Overall, a nice place. Good location, lots of bright and natural light (always a bonus in any shop), and good selection.

Sorry to hear that this store is changing the length of its parking time to a maximum of 90 minutes…read moreand may result in a fine of £95 if you go longer than that. We have shopped happily at this store for quite a few years, but from Nov 12th 2018, when the new parking rules start we will have to go elsewhere. 90 minutes maximum for a full weeks shopping, spending maybe £90/£100 each time is not conducive to a happy experience under such a limit....certainly no time to use the restaurant for a coffee break. The changes we are told is because people are using the car park who are not shopping in the store....so Waitrose are penalizing its regular weekly shoppers who cannot conform to a 90 minute limit.....don't you want our £90/£100 per week....you need to rethink such a silly idea.

Ok so if you've been to one Aldi you've been to them all…read more They have used the space well to accommodate the Aldi style of selling. The Isles area stocked with the usual Aldi goods. The German and other country versions of the well recognised brands you find I the more expensive supermarkets. The pluses for this shop is the location just up the road from the train station, so whether going to work, well actually not going to work as they don't open until 8am, or coming home from work it is a good location to grab those last minute items, from eggs to flowers and not forgetting that bottle of wine!! The bit which has disappointed me is the fact that they have hung a sign from the ceiling. The sign states that if you are cuing beyond a certain point they will open another till. Not true as I and many other were cuing beyond that point and no more tills were opened!! So Aldi unless you can actually back up that claim, which Tesco used some years back and then binned it as unless you have unlimited staff knocking around doing nothing I doubt you can actually achieve it, do not make that claim!!

This place opened quite recently, and in the overall impression, it still looks good, in spite of the little lack of organisation in the aisles. The trolleys are found in the entrance by the car park, in case you come walking, you will have to go all the way to the back. Gets messy towards the end of the day, always with only a few lines available, they tend to get long. But the cashiers are lightning-fast! And they are mostly friendly. They charge for the bags, but they are super sturdy. And the options available are really good, never found something looking bad or not fresh, as they claim to be.

Sometimes supermarket shopping is just utterly depressing. The Sainsbury's Local at the end of my…read moreroad is a complete joke. Every time I stroll in there to pick up an onion they're out of stock. It's uncanny. That's one reason why I choose to go to other local grocery shops like Paamir Super Market. They never run out of food and all of their stuff is quality. I don't know whether it's organic or not, but you can tell that the fruits and vegetables you pick up from here are way better quality than Sainsbury's; they're brighter and they simply look more edible. The prices are generally cheaper than at huge grocery chains as well. You can get four avocadoes for a pound here and a three tonne bag of rice for a fiver. I'll trade Sainsbury's shopping for this any day.

But what I would like to add to this seeming useless, uncool review is that they've translated the £1.50 hot dog + soda deal into "English" with the ability to opt for the .50p tea + bakewell tart offer. Buckle up boys and girls because this little market is going to take you for a ridiculous journey…read moredown the craft beer rabbit hole. Freshfields Market is a small easily overlooked corner shop that looks like it's only used during those times in desperation (i.e., when all the other shops are closed and you NEED an obscure herb.) WRONG. Freshfields Market has an ASTONISHING array of local and international craft beers. Seriously, there is a whole freaking WALL devoted to the fine art of artisanal brews. From the well known craft breweries like Thornbridge to the distinctly local like Cronx, Freshfields has a dizzying selection of beers that would make even the most casual of drinkers tingle with excitement. Every time my husband and I visit we stand in front of the shelves like the proverbial kids in a candy shop unable to make a decision on which of the beers to try. It is no secret that I enjoy my beer. I brew it, I'm looking for a career in it... and this, man... this shop makes me feel like a child. It makes me excited to be a part of a growing demographic of young professionals who are looking to push the boundaries of brewing. Moreover, makes me excited as a consumer to see what was once a dwindling selection of ales suddenly explode into an interest in the "traditional" beer of England. If you find yourself overwhelmed by the selection Freshfields have got your back. They've hired a seasoned-drinker and well-educated staff member to help you pick out the perfect beer for your palate. BUT THAT'S NOT ALL. They not only carry bottled beer but also they have the option of purchasing four pint carry outs that are tapped from two barrels so you get your beer straight from the barrel and not bottle conditioned. As far as the prices go, they're about the price you would expect to pay for craft beer - which is to say not that cheap. However, the last two times I have gone they have done a deal on craft beers - something like 6 craft beers for £12, I can't remember. Either way, this little corner shop may seem to be like any other but don't let the outside fool you, inside it is Croydon's very own craft beer Valhalla and if it suits you, I would go on a pilgrimage as soon as possible.
