It's a wee cafe so wasn't sure if they did take away, but they do. Yay! They had a great variety to choose from. What they serve in the cafe they can also pretty do for take away too. So from panini's, sandwiches, hot rolls to chicken nuggets and chips and cheese. Mmm! The ladies who served me were lovely. The cafe's no fancy stylish west end type of establishment but the atmosphere was good. There was banter between the customers and staff, probably regulars. The ladies were always keeping themselves busy with cleaning in between serving customers. There's also seating available outside, which was mostly used by smokers. I like that you have the choice to sit outside, especially if it's a lovely sunny day, and of course it's always sunny in Govan. As you enter in the main door, you'll see the cafe straight away. I was pleasantly surprised- its shiny, clean, and airy, so I decided to sit in rather than get a take-away. The place perhaps lacked character, but then the cafe had a canteen-style service area and staff that wore outfits similar to school dinner ladies, so not the sort of place you would go for a special occasion. They serve soup, sandwiches, tray bakes and costa coffee- the cafe seemed particularly child-friendly. The prices were also very reasonable.

I often find myself popping into this greengrocers on my way home along Byres Road. Demarco's has a large range of fruit and vegetables, as you would expect, and is pretty cheap too. It's not the most exciting of shops, but it does sell some extra foodstuffs - although probably not reliable enough stock to do a proper shop there. Strangely, there never seems to be anyone serving in Demarco's. Instead I usually end up hovering near the cash desk awkwardly with my selection of fruit and veg, waiting for someone to appear. Just at the point when you're wondering whether you should pop a pound down on the counter and leave, someone generally appears to take some money off you. The most exciting thing about Demarco's is the leopard print lining on the baskets that they use to keep fruit in. It gets me every time.
