They…read moremay still be located in a shopping centre with quite a few other shops and restaurants such as A Card Factory, Greggs and Subway but this ASDA store does not have a Cafe itself making it a nightmare to do all your things in one place, or find somewhere that avoids cross contamination for Coeliacs like me. I may have said for the Chadderton branch, yes this is okay but the Harpurhey branch does not have it, that is right they do have a nice range of products here but still this isn't a great store. I couldn't even get a bottled water, a member of staff told me they did not have any and for me to go over the road. I am sure a big store like ASDA would have bottled water, the staff could also of been more polite in telling me this or checked for me. It is unlucky to have 1 bad incident with a member of staff but another one in 2 constitutive visits is really disappointing. One thing I do not like about ASDA, Despite being cheaper than Tesco for most things is that they do not have a loyalty scheme like Tesco's Clubcard or The Nectar Card of Sainsburys. This ASDA Does have a large clothes section if you need to look for clothes and get your groceries, you can do both of these in the same place. This ASDA store has a nice range of Gluten Free sausage and even had some on sample, they have The Black Farmer, Heck, Butchers Selection and their own Extra Special range (Avaliable in quite a few interesting flavours!) This ASDA does also have a DVD section and follow the traditional ASDA look for most items such as Milk and Starbucks Frappucinio Beverages at the fridge on the back wall near the DVD and Clothes sections, which strech to the back of the store. This ASDA has a partnership with Cresta Cars, if you use the freephone here you can get a token which gives you 75p off your journey and they do come in a few minutes. Due to the range of some products, I can't give this ASDA one star but I really don't think it deserves more than two. This store has no coffee machine either, a few local ASDA stores do but it seems the store that is desperate for one (no cafe£, doesn't have one.

They offer click and collect services, which I would be interested in, but considering my walk to the store is my chance to get out and soak up the sun, I haven't used it... yet. I have been in a few times now and I always notice that the fruit section always looks bare. The other day I went in and all of the apple bins were completely empty and there was no one restocking. They do have a small apparel section and household items. They have a deli, but no bakery. And they do have a small pharmacy. Every time I have come in here it is so busy. While the aisles are quite wide, because there are so many people shopping with the huge trollies, it just seems so crowded. Besides the fruit section always being picked over, the selection in the fish/seafood section is a bit limited, so I would probably head to another grocery store in order to get what my recipes call for. And I can say that on each occasion I have gone shopping in the store, there has been at least one item on my list that has been sold out The staff at the store always seem so busy to the point that they can't really assist customers. Some of the staff are quite friendly, but I was judged and questioned when I didn't want the Asda Smart Value brand even though it was on special. While I'm not opposed to store brands (in fact I do use store brands for a number of items), there are some times where I prefer a different brand/name brand to the store brand... so it threw me when the lady just stopped ringing up my items in order to question me for a few minutes. I appreciate when staff point out a better deal, but after I have declined, I don't need 21 questions and considering how busy the store is and the queue that was growing behind me, the other customers probably don't need the 21 questions either. The store is open 24 hours, but only Monday through Friday. In some ways, I actually think that this store is too small for this particular neighborhood. Typically I'm not a fan of a bigger store, but in the case, I think the crowding and being sold out a number of items, a bigger store might just be needed.

The location is good, being opposite the Etihad Stadium, home of Manchester City, do bear in mind on a match-day it can get super busy with football fans and the sale of alcohol to those attending the match is suspended due to police regulations. For such a large store, I do find the product range disappointing, I am never able to get all the items I want to come in for, which are often sold at smaller ASDA stores, which is strange. On a more recent visit, I noticed the few remaining Starbucks Nespresso capsules to be ripped open, it seems people had taken out the capsules and put back the cardboard holder. There is a Supercuts inside the store too, one of their two Manchester locations. There is also a Greggs, Opticians and Pharmacy area. As with any ASDA store, they do offer their Scan and Go app, where you can scan items as you shop and bag them up, using your phone. The staff seem friendly enough too. For such a large store, the product range could certainly be better, but they do offer good facilities and the location is good too, being right opposite what could possibly be the most beautiful football stadium in England in the Etihad Stadium, and being so close to Manchester city centre, whether that be via its' large car park (which also has a Timpson) or via bus or Metrolink services. 4* - Not a bad way to mark my first review in 2021 by upgrading this location from a three-star rating in 2014 to four now!

It also gets an honourable mention for having its own car parking (invaluable if you're on your way somewhere else after you pop in) a decent selection of magazines and magazines and for competing on staples like bread, milk and bacon (does bacon count as a staple? They stock all the usual Tesco goods plus clothes, toys, household items, white goods, in fact, almost everything could want to buy on a normal afternoon shopping trip. The checkouts are efficient and the supervisors are often on hand to guide you to the least busy till. All of the staff have, in my experience, shown themselves interested in doing their jobs with as much cheerfulness as they can.

The walk from toilet rolls to beans seems to be miles long! I get lost in them! But theres no danger of that in this Tesco because its just the right size! The store was fine, although there are better ASDA stores nearby, the product selection was OK for a store of its' size, and I was able to pick up most of the few items I needed. Scan & Go Mobile is available in this store, where you can scan and bag items as you shop, I do think it is really difficult to pay here compared to other supermarkets as you can only go to one specific self-service checkout, which is on the end and mixed in with the others, this is the first ASDA location which does not either have a specific section or the technology added on to all self-service machines, I think it makes little sense to not signpost it, which leads to confusion, especially as there is no area to queue if you want this machine only. The staff seemed more annoying than helpful, after I found out where the machine was, the employee seemed eager to assist me, even though I told her I was fine and didn't require assistance, as I struggled to scan my barcode, she typed it in, she seemed to be doing it really slowly to waste time, and pressed the wrong button to delete everything to start again, she even touched my phone as the screen began to dim, without permission, which I didn't find to be appropriate, especially considering I didn't require help in the first place... someone should play her Raylee's entry into Melodi Grand Prix... "I don't need a hero" There was a pharmacy but this just seemed to get in the way, there were some warehouse/unloading cages around the store which also were an inconvenience, but this certainly wasn't as bad as many other stores nearby within the town centre. 3* - Pretty average ASDA, there are better stores nearby but with this being the only major supermarket in Wythenshawe town centre, a town of over 100,000 people, it is useful.

No help offered to elderly people or folk with children trying to wheel their trolleys along the road, which was also flooded on one side, or wading through the floodwater. No attempt made to direct traffic in order to keep people safe. I am sorry to say that my experience of Tesco Burnage managers is they they don't care about their customers and are never visible when there are problem. I have never had problems with managers in any other Tesco store. I only continue to shop at Burnage because the shop floor staff are really helpful and cheerful. I have no idea how they manage it

They have a large deli counter, clothes selection, pharmacy, homeware, children's games, camping, fitness stuff, cards and presents, fish counter and American and world foods isle. (pretty much everything!) It also has a sneaky Costa at the back which I didn't realise until recently! There's tons of room in the car park and apart from on weekends when it is really busy, its never too packed and a generally chilled shopping experience. Will always choose here over the small metro down the road as its got a larger selection of pretty much everything!
