They stock the usual essentials like bread and milk, also frozen food, tinned foods, toiletries, biscuits, chocolates etc. They even stock some of the not so essential items like toys and jewellery. The staff are helpful and friendly, and on the whole it's quite a nice little store. There is parking on Yarm High Street - but that does get busy so there is also a dedicated car park for Sainsbury's customers at the back of the store (although you are limited to a one hour stay). Also, another good point, you can earn Nectar points when you spend money in Saisnbury's.

The staff are efficent and the shelves kept well stocked - very rarely have they sold out of something I wanted (which was a bug bear when I used to shop at Sainsburys as they always seemed to be running out of stuff). Also like most Tescos now it has a petrol station, free parking and is open 24 hours a day (except Sundays).

The supermarket itself is small, but stocks a reasonable range of goods. Service in-store is adequate. I have been charged double price on two occasions for various products and found it a difficult process to get a refund. The stores petrol station is in a handy location as there are few places to fill up in and around Ingleby Barwick. Petrol is also reasonably priced unlike the local competitors.

In fact, I think the 'Local' tag actually indicates that it's a sort of open-all-hours place. I think this one is open from 6am til 11pm every day. This is a nice little branch, well laid out and brightly lit. Staff are helpful and friendly. It's located at the end of the Orchard Shops, near the library. They stock a good range of products, but it really doesn't have as good a range as the Yarm High Street branch. Also, I notice that a lot of the prices are higher in the Local than in the High Street branch, even though they are both Sainsburys. For example, a 750 ml bottle of Sainsburys mineral water was about 59p at the Sainsburys Local, and the same bottle was about 34p in the High Street branch of Sainsburys.

The staff are all incredibly friendly, and the shelves are well stocked with goods. There are the normal offers as you would expect from a Sainsbury's, and unlike some supermarkets they ensure that the shelves doe contain the items on offer. Outside the store there is a large carpark, which you do have to pay to use however you get this back off your shopping providing you spend over a certain amount (I think it's £5.00), so basically you are guaranteed it back. A great supermarket where you can normally get everything you need for your grocery shopping, as well as a bit of a treat from the clothing range.

You can also pick up your orders from Tesco direct here so you don't have to pay postage and have the convience of setting your own time - they notify you when the item has been delivered to the store and you print off the receipt and take it in at a time that suits you.

Up the moving walkway and you find a massive clothing department, which stocks ranges for men, women and children as well as lingerie and footwear. There's also homewares and DIY goods and a HUGE electrical departments which goods include LCD TVs and kitchen appliances as well as accessories. The car park is massive so there's always enough spaces. I have been told there is now an opticians in the Tescos aswell!

The majority of the stores customers are from the local Bangladeshi, Indian and Pakistani communities thou this is the favourite for westerners who are clued up about avoiding supermarkets for the Asian groceries. The stores deals in all of vast range of Indian spices, Asian fruit and vegetables, Halal meats, loads of freezers to cover the large range of Asian fish and sea food and a few other bits and bobs like cooking utensils. Ideal if you know what you are looking for but also the staff are helpful if you need help. A lot of these Asian stores are scruffy looking but this is probably the best in the area.
