Horrible once again. Rattle in the door but couldn't hear it at the moment so they wouldn't even look. The ac and heat stink real bad sometimes like mold but they wouldn't look at it cause it doesn't stink at the moment after the 25 minute drive to the dealership. It's a common issue because the drainage wasn't engineered but she told me not to look on the internet or Reddit about that kind of stuff. Took time off work to drive 25 minuets and they won't even look at the issues because it's covered by warranty. They would change the cabin filter because that is a customer charge. Horrible company horrible service center. Last time it took them 3 1/2 hours to change one tire while they had a pizza party. I will never buy anither Tesla for as long as I live. read more

I have Tesla model S and had issues that when I turned AC on start the noise on front dashboard, I make an appointment for last August for three weeks later from my request and before a week my appointment time the broken down, They changed me $2000 for repair AC after two months Noise pulled up and second time charged me $100 and the manager of the branch said if the noise back again he is going to fix it without appointment and any fee but after couple of months AC noise pulled up for third times, I went to the Fresno branch but the manager said it is going to make an appointment for two days later and he is going to charge me $160 just for inspection for third time but I declined it. Tesla customer support for solar products is horrendous. Long wait times on the telephone, when they bought Solar City they eliminated many of the people that monitored system performance so if you have a problem no one will let you know about it. You have to discover it on your own. And when they do schedule service they send 1 person for a 6 man job and that person will lie to you stating he will be back shortly and 30 seconds after leaving your property you will receive a text message rescheduling service for a future date. Purchased Solar City panels in 2014, installation and support was good until last year, During the 2021 rain my panels shorted out. Tesla notified me of the problem and sent out a Tech to check it out. Tech verified the problem. Tesla did nothing since it seemed when the panels dried out they started working again. Same problem happened this year in NOV, same response Tech came out verified the problem and said the panels need replacement. Been waiting since NOV for them to be replaced. Called the support center in Buffalo and the estimate for replacement was between 6 and 22 weeks. Seems they are having a problem with their supplier. I suggested they install another brand of replacement panels. They said no I have to wait until they work out their issues with the original provider. We have had our Solarcity/Tesla panels for 2 years now. Over 50 panels installed on our two story house. Over 2000 sq ft. We had no issues with installation or with any customer service. The company even replaced tiles on our roof at no cost to us. The last two years we have had a zero true up with PGE. We cut on utilities in half. We run our air conditioning all summer too and never stress about it. We couldn't be happier with our Tesla solar lease. read more

If you are thinking of going solar, look elsewhere. I sold my home in June, 2020, and notified Tesla. We closed on August 12, 2020 and signed the transfer contract. They billed me for September, which was paid, and I thought that it was all finished. NOW they are billing me for the past four months plus February 2021, when they should have been billing the new owners. They also requested a new contract, a death certificate for my husband who passed away, and a filing fee. I am not able to get through by telephone and I get an "automatic reply" from emails or they are returned "mailbox full." I contacted the realtor and learned that the system hasn't worked since September and the new owners have not been able to get it fixed. Be warned, TERRIBLE customer service! In addition, I was shocked at all the negative reviews on Yelp, so I am not the only one. If anyone would like to file a class action suit against Tesla, count me in. read more

Here is an update for anyone wanting to know if SolarCity actually has changed their business practices. In case you are wondering, they have not. Customer service is still as poor as it can get. The customer service dept. just stinks. Bunch of people who hate talking to people on the phone it feels like. They make lies that they try to call you but in reality, they don't. Then when you get them on the phone, they read off of a screen and go back and forth. Issues don't get solved because all they do is beat around the bush. In my case, my gateway is bad. they refuse to replace it. Again, just because they are larger than other companies doesnt mean you should go with these guys. Stay very far away from them. read more

I am a big fan of the value we have received from Solarcity - AND our solar system was just recently installed! We started out 7-months ago looking into solar installations in the San Joaquin Valley and found SolarCity. I was referred by California State University, Fresno, who after working with SolarCity on a few projects were very impressed. They told me 2-things: 1) SolarCity knows their stuff and, 2) you can't find anyone better to work with for Solar - and they were right! Our salesman was well-educated about solar trends, products, ROI, the valley, PG&E and best of all state and federal rebates. I asked for a list of references and then went about contacting them. My husband and I even visited an existing customer 's solar installation near by and were so very impressed. This customer, a retired engineer with a nuclear energy plant in California had us enthralled with his knowledge of solar and his views on SolarCity. The demand for their product and services required a 6-month wait at the time we signed-up, but this did not deter us. They kept in contact with us during that time and when it came to installation they were very professional and very clean. So you ask, Cher how much energy have you made to date? Like I said, our system is about 45+ days old and this is the rainy and foggy time of year - but we are still producing energy! I love to show people statistics of our production using my iPhone and their SolarCity app. I plan to update this review again when we move into sunnier time of year just to share with you how our production assists with reducing energy costs. read more

One star is too much. I signed a 15 year solar lease with Solar City back in 2009. Things went okay for a bit, then Solar City sold out to Tesla. Since then, all downhill. I have written them multiple times and get no response other than a copy of my contract. I believe the panels might not even be working correctly but no response from Tesla. I have a 1500 sq ft house and I keep my thermostat at 78 degrees, so I am sweating most of the time. I got my Edison bill today and it was $254, plus I have to pay Tesla $146 as the lease payment goes up every year. They will not address the issue at all and I am being totally ripped off. I have never been more appalled with a company as I am with Tesla (and I have been appalled before). DO NOT GET SOLAR PANELS WITH THEM. What kind of a rip off their cars must be. read more

I don't know many people that enjoy having teeth pulled, but trying to schedule the R&R of my panels so I can replace my roof (before it rains in FRESNO lol) is where we are. It is impossible to reach anyone and when you do eventually reach someone, they pass it off to another department that they apparently know nothing about. My financial institution sent them a check for total amount due, it arrived Mar 11 at 11:07 and was signed for. Gave them the name of who signed for it and a tracking number. Ok then Mar 13 it was cashed guess what gave them a check number and all the info I have. Like a fart in a fan factory it just up and vanished! Now that it's May I've paid two months dues and they are going right where they are supposed to, so it's odd to me!! I RECOMMEND: Stay away from TESLA SOLAR/SOLAR CITY. Solar City sold their contracts to TESLA. TESLA employs a minimum of repair techs in the Los Angeles Co. area. I was told there is only 1 repair tech for the entire Los Angeles County area. Our solar went out early July. Took 10 days to get a repair tech who traveled from AZ here to help the 1 LA tech. A part is needed to repair the system. Our entire 2 panel system was shut down until the part would be in. The tech said the part would take about 3 weeks to get. 4 weeks later the part has arrived and I need to schedule an appointment. I called for an appointment and SURPRISE....there is no appointment until mid SEPTEMBER! 2.5 summer months with NO SOLAR which you are PAYING FOR! When you call for any service you have at least a 20 minute hold...if your call is transferred, you have an additional 20 or more minute hold time. There are no SUPERVISORS available. You cannot have a name or number to a supervisor. The apps have you chasing your tail and take more time then the call if you can find a number to call!! Tesla does not respond to emails so, if you want CUSTOMER SERVICE, REPAIR SERVICE OR TO FEEL VALUED....I suggest you go with a DIFFERENT solar company. They were booked about a month and took exactly 3 months to turn my solar on. Really dislike PG&E. They waited until their last day of the third month to switch over. These people are FRAUD! They lie to get a contract signed and hide hundreds of dollars in hidden fees. The solar panels have damaged our roof Because they improperly installed them. To top everything off they brainwashed me to think I was helping my mother by even having them meet with her and they FRAUDULENTLY had me sign her name on the contract which is illegal. We are now hiring an attorney and we will be sure to take this to lengths. You cannot have the non home owners sign a contract for property that DOES NOT belong to them. I was 17/18 years old at the time to top this all off. They told me this will help my mom and that I'm doing the right thing by signing! That my mom doesn't understand how this will help them (she speaks Spanish they didn't send anyone to translate) I'm sure they did this so she wouldn't know they were about to guide me into committing a CRIME! SolarCity put panels on property my mom owns and my brother in law and sister live in that house. My mom NEVER signed papers allowing SC to place solar on house, which they were suppose to get HER signature before placing panels. Since the brother in law is leasing, they placed LIEN, which my mom was NOT aware of until it was brought to her attention. My 78 year old mother has never had anything liened, always worked hard for everything they have and now SC will not call her back after her talking to MANY people there. This is completely, illegal and somebody better fix the huge fraudulent, error, committed. Somebody did not check the records very well because the brother in law does not OWN the house. So we call our Solar City Rep that sold us the small worthless system. My husband tells him that he lied to us because the system he recommended isn't doing it's job per what he had told us. Basically the conversation was my husband telling him that he misled us and him back peddling trying to cover his ass. Telling us that he told us something different and that we were wrong and that he didn't tell us what we know he did say. How do you trust a company with this type of rep or this type of practice? My husband told him that he did not want to talk to him but his boss. So we will see what happens, but at this point I would rather deal with a different company than deal with this one. From their come-on line "How would you like to have a $58 a month power bill" to their inadequate system to their forced arbitration that strips a customer of his/her rights----no matter which part of the process you look at, it is deceptive, manipulative, and has been insanely expensive for us. I called the 1-888-765-2489 number and was on hold for ......18 min and I'm still on hold as I write this. Approx 3 weeks ago I was notified that my Solar was not producing so I was told to call in to troubleshoot the system with a representative over the phone. After wasting over an hour of my time on the phone we had NO LUCK with getting it turned back on. At this point the representative said that we would need to make an appointment for a tech to come out approx 3 weeks later. This appointment was from 12-2 today. I believe on Monday we received a email stating that they moved up the appointment between the hours of 8am and 10am. My wife and I were very happy with the new time frame and rearranged her schedule for the 2nd time. GUESS WHAT? It was know 9:40am and we still did not receive a email or phone call regarding the tech running behind. I'm in the service industry so I know some people will jump down my throat because they still had 20 min until the Window was over. Well that Window ended and still NO CALL. My wife ended up having to leave so she called customer service and they said as long as there is no Pets outside and the gate is left open that she would not need to be home. She asked them how would we know what they did and they said either leaving a door hanger or calling us with the info. 11:00am comes around and I decide to drive by my house since we still have not received that phone call that most customers would expect and as I drive up and I don't see a door hanger with any information on it. Technician must have not of made it by yet? Well that's were this review starts to come to an end because while I'm finishing up writing it customer service finally gets me off hold. Very nice Lady. I didn't catch her name because obviously I'm not in the greatest mood. I mean it is 101 degrees outside with the Sun beating down on my roof for consecutive days. Seems like a lot of wasted money. To finish it off the very nice Lady says that the Tech actually did arrive between my wife leaving and me getting home. She said the problem is the Cadillac inverter that was installed is no good and will need to be replaced. I threw the Cadillac in there because that is what the salesman told me. So I found out that I will need to wait approx 10 more days for the unit to come in but it will be installed for free( only 11 months old) but once it comes in then we will have to schedule out the install date. I hope it is not as far out as the diagnostics that took nearly 3 week to get to but 2 min to figure out. If I had to do it all over again I would have used a local company to do this project. Local companies take pride in their work and take care of their customers in a timely matter. I feel like they got my money and that's all that matters. Judging by all these other reviews I'm not alone. Since I don't know who the tech was or which Solar/Tesla City came out to my house I'm sorry if this is not the right Yelp site. Our solar panels are installed and will go live sometime next week. I couldn't be happier with the customer service. Our customer service repo handled our account fromt he first meetings through the installation and called to check on each step of the process. The installation crew was courteous and professional, and didn't leave a mess! I would highly recommend Solar City to others. read more

People! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! We agreed to a system that would save us 50% off our average electric bill of 365/month. The salesman explained that we would never pay more than 19 cents per kilowatt and our monthly bill would be about 100 to solar city and 100 to SCE. We asked lots of questions to which he had all the answers. We didn't want panels on the front of the house and the salesman said we had plenty of room on the west side of our house. So After a very long wait of 5 months the panels were finally installed. The work was very shoddy and another crew had to come and completely redo the wiring and repaint the side of our house. After 4 months, we started getting suspicious since our monthly statements from SCE showed that we had a credit and said not to pay...but we were expecting to pay about 100/month. So we called the salesman and he said congratulations! You must be generating enough energy to offset your entire bill! That didn't sound right, so we called SCE. They said they only send a yearly bill (first we had been told that). They also said we should check the back page of our monthly statement to see what our total usage was to date. At that point, 4 months into solar, we owed $1200! Called the salesman again, he said that there was obviously something wrong, don't pay SCE, and he will investigate and get back to us. Months went by, he never called, and he wouldn't return our calls. We called the home office and asked for someone else to call us and explain what was happening. Another guy, called once and said he was the local supervisor,he would check it out and get back to us. Months went by again...he didn't call, and didn't return our calls. At the end of the 12 months we got a true-up bill from SCE for $4000! Not exactly the $100/month that the original salesperson told us! After many more unreturned calls, solar city finally sent another representative to talk to us. He admitted that the system was not designed to offset 50% of our 365 power bill, because that number of panels would not fit on the west side of our roof. Instead the system was designed to offset a 250 monthly bill. He offered to sell us more panels for the front of our house. We told him that was never an option and we should have been informed that the system wasn't big enough. We asked him to remove the panels and he said that they could do that for a fee of 499 which is negotiable. We have never heard from him again and he doesn't return our calls. Now, we have called the customer service line to be told by a "supervisor" that they will not remove the panels as we have a 20 year contract and the representative that told us they could be removed for 499 was wrong. This company has terrible customer service! The salespeople will make all sort of promises to get you to sign the contract so they can get their commission. I'm not sure how this will end, we are considering legal action. read more
