Florida Keys History & Discovery Center

Nice and informative museum about the history of the Florida Keys. They have interactive exhibits,…read moredocumentaries, library, artwork, fish tanks, and much more. Looking for things to do on an overcast day in the keys, we found a few museums in the area and…read moredecided to check out the Florida Keys history museum. First thing is that, yes, there's a big sign on the street to enter but, you feel like you're going the wrong direction after you have to navigate through a resort gate and drive-through what appears to be there maintenance area before arriving at the discovery center. The building itself looks newer and is very large and there's plenty of parking. Upon entering, we had no idea what to expect because we couldn't find the cost of admission anywhere so we had to ask and make the determination if we wanted to go. For $15 per adult and six dollars per student we decided why not. The museum itself is set out nicely with the first floor, including a history of the Florida indigenous people, and then the development of the keys. These are lots of computer screens with interactive items but, they need to be locked because we accidentally got to the desktop and saw we went this first with a variety of windows open, various search items and even Roblox and other games open that kids were playing. There is also a small aquarium section with three tanks. Upstairs there is a small art gallery and a theater that plays a rotation of historical movies. We saw one about state parks (1/5) and one about the overseas highway (4/5). So kind of hit and miss there. If you are a history or museum buff or really interested in the keys then this might be worth a stop but, would not recommend for a family with kids as they will get bored easily.

Brickell

I had never visited a city center on this scale before, and Brickell City Centre was impressive. It…read morefeels like a massive open-air mall with covered walkways, which makes it comfortable to explore even in the heat or rain. There's a wide range of stores catering to different budgets--from typical mall stores to high-end luxury shops. The center offers a good mix of shopping including clothing stores and beauty retailers. I am not sure about the restaurants and cafes, since I have not explored the whole mall. I did see a restaurant, Starbucks, and a boba shop that I visited. I visited several stores during my trip, and overall, the service was friendly and welcoming. Dior stood out in particular, as the staff were attentive, offered samples, and created a more engaging shopping experience. The other stores I visited were also pleasant and accommodating. Overall, it's a cool place to walk around, shop, and hangout for a day.

Brickell City Centre has become one of the most popular destinations in Miami. There are several…read moreparking garages available, although parking can be quite expensive. We visited to find a specific outfit, and the variety of stores has definitely improved over time. While the mall still features many luxury retailers, it now includes more accessible options such as H&M, Zara, a smaller Abercrombie & Fitch location, Sephora, and Victoria's Secret. The mall offers great dining options along with beautiful views, and it is always lively. Tourists are often seen taking photos on the skybridge near Victoria's Secret, adding to the vibrant atmosphere. One of the most convenient features is the free Metromover, which has a stop directly at Brickell City Centre. This makes it easy to park farther away and avoid high parking costs. For those who live nearby, walking is also a great option. The open air but covered design gives the mall a modern outdoor feel while still providing comfort and a sense of safety, which is very important. In addition to shopping, there is a movie theater, an escape room, indoor golf, and other entertainment options. We stopped for a bite to eat at The Henry. Our server, Alex was attentive and provided great service. What was once a quiet space focused mainly on ultra luxury brands has transformed into a lively, well rounded destination with something for everyone.
