Let me start by saying if you have lots of trouble finding even the widest of fairways, don't like a challenging golf outing, don't like a beautiful and well laid out course, this course is not for you. I played here for the first time this month and I loved it. Did I loose some golf balls, yep sure did. Did I care nope. I have 3 favorite holes; Number 1. We staid in the Cascade Building and we overlooked the first hole. Beautiful to look at anytime of day and a very challenging first hole. Second favorite hole Number 10. A great elevated tee shot with incredible views all around. Finally my Third favorite hole, (actually a tie since I birdied them), 17 and 18. Call ahead on before the turn order your drink and or snack. The club house staff, and pro shop staff are all just top notch. The nicest and friendliest golf staffers around! Five stars to each of them! See you next September! read more

That course sucks. The rumor of the designer Kidd going through a bad divorce during the design can be totally felt during your round. Absolutely unplayed golf course. I have never had a good time. Boyfriend did a lot of research to find the good courses to play while in Oregon and this was one of the few he picked and I'm so glad he did. He made a tee time about 1 week before and they were able to squeeze us in the morning. The course was beautiful. It's surrounded by a lot of houses and almost has a desert feel to it. The course was hard but my boyfriend still had fun. We rented a cart and one of those motor bikes and man was that thing fun to ride! The staff were very friendly and a lot of them were young. What a wonderful setting and something you should visit while in Bend. We are lucky enough to have been customers and members for a long time and from the food side of things Kevin has been an exceptional host to us over the years. Even in the dark days several years ago when my wife and I were the only customers the restaurant, the menu and service was top notch. The food prep is great and for sure everything if beyond what it has to be. Zach does an amazing job with his staff in the kitchen and delivers a great meals. Prices are very fair and golf casual dining in both restaurants with food varying from soups, salads, sandwiches, to exotic main course entrees. Also two bars and a fun drink menu if you are into libations. Open year round suggest you make a dinner reservation in peak seasons. hotel and overnight accommodations as well. read more

Not a great experience. I live in Bend and love to take guests to all the best places the area has to offer, so I thought this would be a great experience for my son, who like me, loves to golf. First off, the rates were $175 each, even in the afternoon, and somehow we were charged even more than that rate. A forecaddie is required, but their website talks up their expertise and helpfulness. I've used caddies and the past, and they can be very helpful. Ours happened to be a local 16 year old kid who "fills in when they are busy". Great youngster, but he pretty much remained in the cart with his cell phone while we hunted for balls and poured sand into our divots. Not his fault, he didn't have a clue of what he was supposed to be doing, I'm quite sure management was more to blame. At the end of the round I tipped him anyway. What the heck, I was in so deep at this point it didn't matter. The round took forever, as there were two foursomes of lady newbies two holes ahead of us. We waited on every single hole. The lady foursomes also had a "fill in" forecaddie assigned to them (per the info from our kid) and it was suspected he was probably a bit shy about moving them along. I questioned the cost at the desk for an explanation of all the charges, but the guy there was a bit gruff and unclear. I'm guessing they're member driven, and we were much less important than the everyday crowd they cater to. Not really fun or inviting. We golfed a round at Juniper the next evening for $29 ea. We rolled through that beautiful course with no delay, and had a great round. The old adage of getting what you pay for was far from the truth in this instance. read more

This place is amazing. We always talk about Nordstrom being the model of outstanding customer service but the staff here is first class. I was getting eaten by mosquitoes and when I spoke to the resort limo driver AJ I asked if they had anything. It ended up they didn't, but he called me 20 minutes later and had run into town to buy me some on his own. AJ defines top notch service. Shane, the other driver gave us a very detailed locals view of where to go and eat in downtown. He was so friendly and really shared some great insights that made our night the best it could be. Andrea from Melbourne Australia who works in the "Row" restaurant was top notch as well. Outstanding service and even told us of the place he works at night. Since he told us of this place, and Shane the driver said it was his favorite we tried Gregs in the Old Mill district. Andrea took amazing care of us there as well Please visit this place and experience it for yourself. The owner and general manager should feel great about the culture they are driving here. Avid golfer here. I go to Central Oregon each year for a guys golf trip and was looking forward to re-visiting Tetherow after not playing here for a few years. While the course was in fine shape, the service of the employees was so far below what I'd expect in an over $150/ round course my friends and I will probably not be back next year. Now specifics... 1. There was a block group of about 6 foursomes teeing off ahead of us. Not a big deal, the pro shop, starter and marshal assured us they would keep pace (told it was expected to by 4 1/2 hours). They even have a timer in the GPS enabled carts that warns you your behind pace. Well it turned out to be over 5 hours and made us miss the afternoon time we booked for a replay (more on that later). At one point there were 5 groups on a par 5. One on the green, one in the fairway, one just teeing off, the group in front of us waiting, and us driving up from the last hole. We shared our concern with the marshal at the turn and he assured us we weren't that far behind pace and to relax and enjoy the sun. 2. We drove straight from the 18th tee to the pro shop to ask if we could still get out for the second 18 (we figured the course would be empty by 3:30pm). He said there was a six(!) person group playing the first hole and if we played through the course would be "wide open" after that. Well, we caught up with that group on the second tee and they informed us it was completely stacked up in front of them. We played that hole as a group of 9 (!) to see what it looked like after, and saw group after group over the next few holes. We quit and went in to ask for a refund. So the big takeaways are: A) They seem to care more about catering to the the larger groups (who they make more money on) than the "daily" players and.. B) Despite all the technology from the GPS in the carts they have no idea (or don't care) how packed the course is. Next year....We'll skip Tetherow and go to Pronghorn. read more

First off, this is a destination type of golf course. So you start out expecting more which puts the golf course behind the eight ball because your expectations are so high even before you get there. From the time we pulled up we were well taken care of by the staff. I almost fell down the stairs looking at the views but made it down to the pro shop unscathed. The shop people were very efficient and we were off to the driving range. WOW, you could just stay on the driving range all day with the views from there. Our fore caddie was very knowledgable about the course and fit in with our group very well. If it is your first experience with a fore caddie, you need to kind of adjust your mindset because it's different, but what happens is the next time you golf somewhere else without one, you'll realize how much help your fore caddie at Tetherow was. Which is cool. Tee to green you will not find a more beautiful course in Central Oregon. It is in really good shape and very well maintained. OK, here it comes.....I can't wrap my head around the greens. I think they are SO extreme that it takes away from the experience. Even with our caddie, I was brutal at times. When you pay a premium to play a fantastic course, picking up your ball because you've putted too many times sucks. That being said our caddie did everything he could to minimize the carnage. The course is getable if you are good (I'm not). A guy in our group shot a 77 so it can be done if you know your game and listen to your caddie. For me this is a once a year type of course or when people come in from out of town I'll definitely go with them. I started off giving five stars and thinks it's worthy of that. We're a family of four and stayed here for four days in June. Very friendly service. For example kept our bikes at the desk for us. Great food and atmosphere at the Row. Pool was clean and nice. Great MTB trails next to property. Bend with many restaurants is a very short drive. Definitely recommend for families. read more

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Tetherow last weekend. The resort is gorgeous with a beautiful view. I played golf with my friends, while my wife and her friend shopped in town nearby. There is a restaurant on site. We had Sunday brunch, which was affordable and delicious. We were even allowed to bring our dog to stay the weekend! To our surprise, a dog bed and treats were waiting for our pup. We will definitely be back in the future. read more

Wow! This was literally the most amazing hotel I've ever stayed in! We came all the way from San Diego and this hotel made traveling to Bend worth it.Great service and excellent rooms. Each room has its own fireplace. I love how this hotel supports local businesses, for example, they use local coffee, tea, and chocolates. Good food at the restaurant too. We are here for a wedding and are glad that we chose to stay here. The grounds and accommodations are very nice. We had lunch at the Tetherow Grill and were pleased. Our room is spacious and the finishes are high-end. We had a slight issue with our air conditioner, but as soon as we informed the front-desk about the issue, the problem was resolved. Staff here is friendly. The only thing missing is a spa and/or a swimming pool. The jogging trail is a plus and the location itself is beautiful. We will be back. read more

I was very impressed with the service that we received at our stay at Tethrow Resort. Upon entering to check in, the lobby was very clean and smelled as good as it looked. The staff was very professional and helpful. The decor in the waiting area and rooms are done tastefully, keeping the outdoors feel but with an urban touch. It was very refreshing not to hear any guests next door. The grounds are kept perfect with staff members working diligently to maintain a Tetherow standard. We did not eat at any of the restaurants at Tetherow, but rather ate at some good little digs in town. If you love a Ceviche Mexicano try Hola! It is located in downtown Bend [www.holabend.com]. If you like fish tacos try Parrilla Grill. Parrilla employees are very friendly and the food it really good [parrillagrillbend.com]. Just a couple of places we tried but there are many more :) Overall review of Tetherow... really would have given it more stars...Would definitely recommend if you are ever in the area. read more

This is strictly for the golf course and the experience I had this week. Two of my friends and I visit the Bend area each May for a buddies golf trip and we had played Tetherow before with no issue. The golf course itself is fantastic and a blast to play. However, we were behind a group of four foursomes who did not appear to have much experience playing. We were told that with the new GPS systems in the carts that playing time had been reduced and we should expect a 4.5 hour round. With that in mind we canceled a tee time for an afternoon round elsewhere in Bend in exchange for a replay rate on Tetherow 5 hours after our morning time. The GPS systems are great and they tell you when you are behind pace, which we were from the start. At the turn we were about 17 minutes behind pace and we were told to "relax and enjoy the sun". Well, it would have been easier to relax had we not had to wait on every shot and that is not an exaggeration. We got to know the group in front of us well as we saw them on every hole. We wound up finishing in just over 5 hours and had to sprint to our next time. We got placed behind a five some in like 4 carts. The staff was kind enough to drive out there to ask them to let us play through and promised it would be smooth sailing once we got through them. When we got to the tee at #2 there were 4 groups on that hole! We wound up playing that hole as an 8-some and when we got to #3 we were waiting on a TWOSOME to finish! And all we could see in front of us were group after group. I felt like the pro shop should have been honest with us about how busy it was and the likelihood of us finishing at a reasonable hour. Thankfully they refunded our fee after we drove in only having played two holes. When we got back there was no apology at all and basically got the feeling that they didn't care about our experience. I expect far more when paying $150 to play a golf course than what we got out of our experience. read more

I'm basically obsessed with Tetherow! We LOVED staying here for the long weekend. The staff was outstanding and so helpful. There was chocolate and a welcome card waiting in our room when we got there, not to mention a rose on our bed when Valentine's Day came around! Everything about this place is wonderful - from the view, to the location, to the staff, to the amenities.
