Tartar sauce was homemade and very good while I like a bit of horseradish in mine it was still very good. The catfish was as long as the plate not over fried at all which means the fry cook knows what they are doing! My buddies got the chicken fried steak he said it was good and the other had the shrimp etouffee which must have been good because he use the garlic bread to clean the platter! Went in during lunch and it wasn't busy at all. We were taken care of consistently throughout lunch. Our table and chairs weren't dirty. The place is definitely... aged... like Burger King in the 90s lol. But as long as the food and service are good, that's what you're really there for. And the food was SO GOOD! I didn't even really consider that 99% of what I got was fried food, that's not normally my jam- but there was no odd flavor (you know how shared oil can be sometimes) and nothing was just gross or heavy. They made me pay for a chicken Alfredo I didn't eat due to the sauce having a tang to it but they made me pay for it anyway. I said I would never eat there again and it took me 4 yrs to give it a try again . They got our orders wrong and the service was crap. Not a fan. Had the grilled chicken and veggies, hubby had the burger and fries. My zucchini was WAY over cooked and whatever seasoning they used was on everything and I didn't like the taste. Maybe it's just me. Chicken was very tender and well cooked. Don't remember rice being in the description on the menu but it was included on the plate. Hubby's burger was bland. Service was fine. Hidden Gem in this old Pizza Hut. Insides is clean and service was spot on. Everything we had was delicious. Fried fish, shrimp, gumbo, and shrimp boil was cooked to perfection. My husband, who eats vegetarian, had fried rice, grilled veggies and vegetable spring rolls, and we shared fried pickles. It was all very good. And very reasonably priced. What a delicious surprise! In an old Pizza Hut building hides a cook with some serious skills. The fried alligator was great. I had the grilled red snapper with a veggie medley of broccoli, zucchini and onion that was amazing! The prices are extremely reasonable for the quantity and quality you get. (Lunch specials were, at least). Their hush puppies are light and delicious and tartar sauce creamy and tart. Very clean and open restaurant. A very pleasant dining experience. read more

This restaurant is new to Lamesa so it's been pretty popular. I really hope this restaurant lasts because this town needs more options. The waiter was very helpful and she had a good attitude. She consistently came to check up on us which is good. I order the chicken fajitas and it came out nice & hot. The chicken & veggies were flavorful. It came with rice and beans. The beans were sooo yummy. It also had sausage and I think it had bacon too. It was a little spicy but it was very tasty. My only complaint was that the rice I was served was just a little too toasty since it was on the same plate as the fajitas and it was a small portion but overall this is a good place to eat. read more

We have ate there several times. We have also ate at their restaurant in Big Spring and both were very good. I like the fried Catfish and my wife likes the shrimp plate. These restaurants are way above average for "inland" fish restaurants. The service is good and the place is clean. I will eat there again ( just called to see if they are open today, Memorial Day, and they were closed)I had my taste buds excited but I am glad they did close to honor our fallen hero's. No, No, No!!! We've waited a bit to try this place out and decided this evening we would try - even though they rarely have anyone there. Well, as I told the server, it is the singular worst place I've ever been to in my life; and we travel all over the country and dine in 5 star to little country dives. We arrived and 3 folks saw us, spoke to us and told us to sit down...then disappeared. 15 minutes later, without a sign of a human anywhere, I went to the kitchen and asked if I needed to ring a bell or something - a girl came out. And then, a VERY little girl (6-8) came out with our menus, then water etc. What?? She even brought out our appetizers! The server took our order and the little girl again came out with the salad! Is this against the law? Our orders came out and all I can say is "holy cow"! What is this crap? My 12 oz. ribeye was probably 6 oz.....maybe. It was thin as tissue paper and, and completely swamped in Worchestershire sauce. There was no steak taste I could have just drank a bottle of Worchestershire sauce. My wife ordered the catfish fillets...oh boy! Cooked OK, and the crust was Ok, but they were so saturated in garlic it would take your breath away....and I love garlic and eat cloves straight. It was just horrible. They charged us 50$ and even after my complaints not a word was said...just took the money (I left no tip). And yes, while we sat and endured this, there were 8 tables covered in debris from who knows how many hours before while the person supposed to take care of it sat in a corner with ear buds, playing on a smart phone, oblivious to what was going on in the restaurant. It was more than terrible. I would advise you to steer clear of the place....a long way. McDonalds will be like a 5 star restaurant compared to this dump. Lamesa needs all the help they can get with restaurants but this one needs to go away quickly. read more

Went here and ordered the Red Snapper. The fish tasted like fried rubber. The texture was terrible. The waitress was nice, but she claimed that the owner would yell back at her if she took my food back to show her. I've visited this place several times and the majority of the time the owner would talk trash about her employees all the time. Extremely unprofessional and no hospitality whatsoever. The fried alligator is good. But the fried oysters had no flavor and it took away from the taste of raw oysters. All I tasted was grease. I asked for raw oysters and they gave me fried. I had to use the lemon from my water in order to even be able to stomach the fried oysters. The fried fish looked unedible and tasted just as bad. It also had no flavor. I have made better looking and better tasting fried fish at a gas station. I for sure won't be eating there again. On another note, the fries were good. read more
