Okay so I took my four month old cat to get neutered first off there was a whole problem with finding my payment for the package I bought a few months back ($140) that was literally taken from my account. They were saying there was no record of my payment on their end but I'm $140 poorer lol. they ended up telling me to dispute the charge and repaying for the surgery day of which is an inconvenience for me as that makes me over 200 dollars short while I wait for my bank to approve the dispute... i guess it worked out because the surgery and rabies shot was free today? However I just thought the woman who helped me was extremely rude and kept cutting me off and was just condescending. After I picked up my cat I looked at her nails and they had only cut three of them... (one on one paw and two on the other) also the few that they did cut looks extremely short like they cut her skin almost. Yall need to train better in customer service and pet care?? read more

Do not take your pet to TCAP to be spayed or neutered. They are a high volume center and do not take adequate time with, or devote adequate care to, each animal. Our dog suffered complications after a basic neuter procedure and had to be rushed to an emergency vet to correct TCAP's errors. They haphazardly sutured him up, leaving part of the inside tissue exposed leading to extreme pain, inability to urinate properly, and the start of an infection. Luckily we were able to catch and address it quickly. When I phoned TCAP to report our issue the attendant was dismissive, condescending, and wasn't interested in taking down any information about our experience to insure another animal does not suffer like ours did. For an organization with "animal protection" in their name they fell short in this endeavor. They are great for low cost vaccines and medication, but do not let them near your pet for any procedures. *He has worn his collar (cone) consistently. The incision had to be cleaned by the vet due to fact tissue was left exposed and was beginning to get infected. You can clearly see the haphazard way they attempted to close the wound. read more

TCAP is such a wonderful organization. They provide low cost spay/neuter, dental cleanings, and vaccines for dogs and cats. They also have a trap and release feral cat program to help reduce the stray cat population that end up homeless and/or in shelters. Long post but I swear it's worth it. I feel super compelled to tell you about something that is INCREDIBLE that I discovered by accident. I promise you this is truly the best pet parent tip you'll probably ever get. When we were considering adopting this former stray, I was concerned because we had always adopted older dogs and never had a puppy. I wanted to make a plan for his every need. I called our vet just to get a ballpark on what the expense would be to get him all 3 rounds of shots and get him neutered. I was shocked when they told me that his first round of shots would be $400. JUST the first set. Then, to have him neutered would be an additional $500-$600 and even more if I wanted him to get pain meds! (Like who would put a dog through surgery and not make sure they were comfortable afterwards?!) I didn't know any better and almost bit the bullet and went with our usual vet. SO HAPPY I DIDN'T! I just happened to check to see if the cost would be the same at other vets in town and was BLOWN AWAY when I came across Texas Coalition For Animal Protection. (They have locations all over.) For ALL 3 rounds of shots, microchipping, and neutering with pain management after, THEY ONLY CHARGED $150. $150 TOTAL FOR EVERYTHING!! And they have great reviews. We have had 4 vet visits with them and I'm over the moon happy with every single person that we've met and the care they provided my Banner baby every single visit. They also offer ridiculously low rates for your dogs & cats to get their annual vaccinations, dental cleanings, and heartworm testing/preventative. (I mean, less than $75!) Look them up. Came to this location for puppy vaccines and everything was pretty efficient. I arrived shortly before 9am and there was already a line, however the process to check in and wait in the car was convenient instead of having to stand in line. It took about an hour and a half from the time of check in to the time services were complete and paid. All in all a smooth process and I plan to bring my puppy here for final vaccines! read more

They are so kind and caring! They were super patient with my lack of after care knowledge and answered all of my questions. I got a call letting me know my boys were out of surgery and ready to be picked up and hour and a half before the planned time at 4 which really helped with dealing with traffic to get there. Super affordable, definitely worth the hour drive. Will definitely be bringing my other kitty soon to be neutered! We take our dogs here yearly to get shots. It's very affordable but not always convenient. Make sure you go during Vaccine times and you have at-least 2 hours to spare. We came exactly at 6 and waited about an hour till we were seen for group E. At least we didn't have to wait outside the whole time. Once inside it's a bit chaotic and you get in line for shots. If your dog struggles with anxiety or you can't hold them during a vaccine do not come here. Mine are small so we can control them but I saw huge dogs being wrestled on the floor with their owners as they got shots. If your dog bites, bring a muzzle for them. If you get Heartworm tested you have 7 days to order their medicine from their website. Just fyi. Anyway, I like what the group is doing and what they offer for animals. The neutering service seems to have gone well, but their after care instructions are super inconsistent and unhelpful. I've called three different times, twice with the same question after an updated situation, and got completely different answers. The first guy said the cone had to be on 7-10 days, and that if he licked the incision after that it would be fine. We took it off at 10 and our dog tried to lick the incision so we put it back on until it had been 14 days. I called today and she said "14 days minimum for the cone, but after 14 days if he tries to lick the incision you need to put the cone back on." Then I asked when we can bathe him, and she said "a minimum of 14 days." So which is it? Will the moisture from his licking hurt the incision but a straight up bath won't? Just confusing, and her tone was rude, like I should already know. I did know from the packets sent on the day of the neutering, but now I'm getting contradicting information, so what am I supposed to do? read more

Cost for services is really nice but the long long wait time just for vaccines is not worth it. They put you in groups of 4 & when your group is called, you go in. Great except say you are in group E which means 16 people were ahead of you & you wait over an hour to get 2 spots for your pet.. Ridiculous. They desperately need more techs to give the vaccinations & a more than 1 checkout person. I had arrived early so I could get this done in time to go to an appointment 2 hours later & ended up having to leave without getting my pets vaccinated because I couldn't wait any longer. I took my baby to get a dental cleaning on 2/8/2024, she had a cough which is completely normal. What was NOT normal was her becoming severely ill due to the lack of sterilization. She has pneumonia, and we are praying for recovery. Cheapest is not always best. I took her here trying to save money on her dental cleaning, only to spend so much more on the emergency vet clinic and treatment. I just hope she recovers from this. read more

I love this place! They are angles doing the Lord's work. They have a feral cat spay program that I am super grateful for. They fix the first 12 feral cats that come into each location in a live trap for just the cost of a rabbies shot ($5 Can't beat that). This location does not do surgeries the last Wednesday of the month FYI. So in order to get a feral cat fixed it must be in a live trap, be at least 3lbs or more, be at least 6 months old ,get a rabbies shot for $5, be one of the first 12 feral cats in line at that location and have their ear chipped. More charges may apply if the cat is in heat and or other things etc. We trapped a baby kitty who looks like it was the run of the litter, took him in and fees him then we took him to get fix so can release him back into the wild and it was just $5. But seriously they are so good at what they do the customers start lining up before they even open. The people working there are super professional and very a very good knowledge of animal surgeries and conditions that people have concerns about. If brining a stray cat please please bring them super early like at 7am. There's been times when I come in to get a stray fix at like 7.10am and there's already 5 cats in line before they open at 8am! Of course this location services other animals like dogs and rabbits and they are great at it. They got several locations across the metroplex so just find one and let them take care of your furry 4 legged friends. read more

DO NOT TAKE ANY ANIMALS HERE TO GET FIXED. THEY WILL MESS THEM UP AND COST YOU MORE IN VET BILLS TO KEEP YOUR PET ALIVE. IT IS NOT WORTH IT. I took my kitten here to get neutered. Everything was fine until 1 week after surgery he started bleeding out of his incision. TCAP wasn't open that day so I had to go to a different vet hospital. It was at this hospital that I discovered they had made 3 incisions on him instead of the regular 2. The incision that opened was the 3rd one NO WHERE NEAR HIS TESTICLES IT WAS CLOSER TO HIS LEG. My kitten did not have a cryptorchid, both of his testicles were descended that's why they made 2 incisions so I have no idea why there was 3 incisions and still don't know to this day, 2 months after his surgery. Yes, that's right, TCAP never even informed that they made a 3rd incision on him. So after spending $400 on emergency surgery (it was also infected) it opens up again and I contact TCAP this time and they tell me to bring him in for a recheck the same day and I do. When I get there they tell me there's no surgeon here right now and to come back in the morning. Are you kidding me????? I just told you his incision opened up which you knew was going to require surgery so why did you make me come back right now?? So they wasted more of my money and time. I took him back for surgery in the morning AND THEY MADE ME PAY FOR IT AGAIN. $50. For their mistake they never even acknowledged. I even contacted their higher up Katelyn McGuire and she said she could possibly give me a refund, but everytime l try to call them again they say "she's not here right now, I'll leave her a note to call you back," but she never does. I am begging you to please not risk your pet's life for their cheap prices. This place needs to be shut down so this doesn't happen to other pets. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Do not take your dogs to this place!!! My 10 month baby got neutered Friday, by Sunday I noticed inflammation on his area. I called asking for advice they asked me to bring him in Monday. After seen him they came back and told me he was fine all he needed was antibiotics to help with the swollen area. I took my puppy home the next day it got worse, he wasn't eating or even walk. I called them and told them I needed help because the problem got worse,They told me to put him in a kennel and bring him the next day in the morning. My dog was in so much pain I couldn't wait til the next day! I took him to an emergency room where they told me he had an infection in his scrotum and was filled with pus. They literally said they couldn't do anything about it, that they were sorry that had happen, they showed zero sympathy towards the situation. My dog did wear his cone all day 24 hrs, this was not cause by him licking his area, this happened due to them not sterilizing properly! read more

This place really does have low prices! I took my 11 month corgi here to get neutered but I also got him a 1 month flea prevention, an extra shot of pain reliever, and they had a special going on for the microchip. It all cost me only $62. I came to drop him off at 9am and usually pick up is at 3pm but they said he was scared and upset so they asked me to pick him up at 12pm. Liam was very sleepy when I picked him up and looked drowsy. He was having trouble sleeping with the cone on the first day so I took it off for him to sleep and put it back on when he woke up. He's back to normal now, but I can see how much he hates the cone. I would defiantly recommend this place for anyone looking for a cheap place to their pet neutered! read more

I've been taking my dog here for his vaccines since he was a pup, and we also got him neutered here. This location is always busy when I go, but I have never had a bad experience. I definitely recommend coming here for affordable yearly vaccines and neutering/spaying. Just a heads up. With the pandemic going on they're taking precautions that I appreciate. When you see them, speak to the person passing out clipboards. They're giving out numbers to hold your place (so you can wait in your car). They ask that you wear a face mask if you come for their services. I came on a Wednesday at 6pm for a trifexis refill. There were about 20 people waiting outside, but the employee I spoke to was really polite and they saw me quickly since I was there for just a refill/pickup. In and out in about 10 minutes. I took our little Kitty Pat in to get spayed and was a little surprised that the line was wrapped around the building. Everything moved fast for me since I had gotten the paperwork of their website and had it filled out which jumped me way ahead of the other folks. The staff was very friendly and the prices were very low compared to our usual vet. They do so many in one day that they have kind of a assembly line registration and payment system. Very efficient. A few hours later they called and said that she was fine and ready to be picked up. On pickup again the staff was very friendly and informative. Our friends from the dog park turned us onto this fantastic place. Conveniently located in Hurst just north of the 183 hwy on Precient line rd. Brang our 11 month old black lab in yesterday for neutering, all went well apparently November is a discounted month was $20 for neuter an extra $15 for additional pain medication and $5 for nail trim. Clean facility friendly staff. Dropped him off at 8:30am. He was back home by 2:00pm. This place is a Godsend. read more

Short review: Checked in with no trouble. Surgery went successfully and dog is recovering really well! Long review: Creating the Appointment: I was skeptical about taking my dog here after a recent review that I read about a deceased dog but nevertheless, I sent my appointment request online and received a call the next day about my confirmation (all super nice and didn't sound rude or robot like!). Check in: Later that week I took my Pomeranian mix small dog to get neutered. I was kinda scared they wouldn't take him in despite how aggressive he is and how he tends to grow a lot and sometimes bite people. It was freezing cold when I got there and the line was already being filled outside of the building. The staff did a great job in working quick and efficient so that our pets and us wouldn't die in the cold for so long. (max 10-15 min) They had me fill out a form while I waited to get inside which was pretty simple. Then they double check it just to make sure I didn't miss anything or had concerns about my pet. I also had a coupon from my city in which they were able to accept. They took his weight and saw how aggressive he could be but they were still able to check him in. Be mindful my dog is fairly small so it's easy to control his movements. Drop off 9 am The Surgery: They called me around 1pm letting me know the surgery was a success and assured me he would be good to go by 2. I arrived around 3:20 but I was still able to pick him up. There was a line but it was shorter than in the morning. The staff explained in perfect detail about what they did and about pain medication. Since my dog was aggressive they had me pick him up from the back instead of them bringing him to me (which I don't mind). They checked his sutures one last time for any blood. They provided me with a cone so he wouldn't lick himself and we were on our way. Post- Surgery: My dog kept wanting to take cone off every time so I did ended up taking it off because he kept moving around so much I was afraid all the movement would break that sutures. Instead I just slept with him the whole day just so I could keep an eye on him and so that he would be more calm. He's personality went back to normal after a few hours but didn't want to eat til the next day. So far, he is having a great recovery! read more

The staff is rude and there's no point in trying to get in for an emergency because they're going to tell you that the best they can do is an appointment in June or July. Even though their site they use, can you tell you can have an appointment within a week. Definitely not worth going to unless you have a few months to make your appointment. This place used to be so great, I would recommend it to everyone I know. Every time I went in I recognized all the staff from previous visits and they all seemed happy to be there. Unfortunately, the last time I was there was the worst experience I've ever had at a vet.... and I've had dogs put to sleep at vets before. I went in and the whole place seemed off, everyone was extremely stressed and not in a good mood at all, and I didn't recognize more than half the staff, so I presume they are all new staff. The woman doing my dog's heartworm blood-draw (she was thin, had medium length blonde hair, glasses) had an awful, rushed, attitude, like she couldn't be bothered to explain anything to me. She stuck my dog with the same needle MORE THAN 15 times, trying to find a vein before she started wiggling the needle around in my dog's arm. I have small veins, so I've always had trouble with medical professionals drawing my blood, and I have had a nurse try to wiggle the needle around to find a vein, while it's in my arm, and it's excruciatingly painful. I don't mind the needle at all, but if you wiggle it around in my arm, I will scream in pain. So watching this incompetent woman try so many times to stick my dog, and then watching her wiggle the needle in my poor dog's leg, was horrifying. I have no words for how awful it is to see something that should take one, maybe two, needle pricks turn into my dog being used as a pincushion for an idiot who can't do her job. When I said she needed to stop, she asked 'her technician' to step in for her... the tech got my dog's blood drawn on the FIRST try, and tried to say she just got "lucky" and she's just a tech and the other woman is her superior or whatever.... yeah, I'm sure your superior asked you to do her job for her, because she's so good at it, and you just got lucky..... clearly the first woman asked the technician to do her job for her because the technician is already better at blood draws than her superior. I cried on the floor holding my dog telling her it would be ok because I have never seen her so upset before. So I could not believe that while I was holding my dog, and we were both clearly super upset, I could hear the same awful woman who used my dog like a pincushion talking badly about me and my dog, right in front of us. She was blaming my dog as if it was her fault (I'd really like to know how you being bad at your job is my dog's fault?), and just saying awful stuff and basically pretending I didn't have ears to hear her. Not a single other employee stepped in to try to make the situation better, they just ignored us. I will never go back.... except maybe to find out the name of the horrible woman and file a complaint against her. read more

Took my 3 yr old pug in to get neutered and that was the last time I saw him alive. I was told pick up was at 3pm but received a call at 1pm asking if he had a medical condition because he was unresponsive. He was healthy and full of energy on any given day. I was never give the opportunity to speak to the vet, instead I was taken by the receptionist to my lifeless dog. I asked for his medical records and he operative report read, "recovery smooth and uneventful. Surgical area inspection for bleeding prior to discharge." I was so pleasantly surprised at our dental experience w TCAP. We've had shots, spay and neuter all in the past for our dogs that went fine. However, I was nervous about anesthesia being used on my 9 year old yorkie mix in need of a Stage 3 cleaning. She did SO well, Tamara was very kind and informative and my pup's teeth are so much healthier. I'm going w 5 stars because it exceeded my expectations, but I will say clarify payment amounts etc ahead of time so there is no chance for miscommunication. I will preface by saying I have an excellent holistic vet that I LOVE! But, the cost of spay with her is between 350.00 and 475.00. Yikes!! I had done low cost spay neuter with my foster dogs for over 10 years in Austin with no problems so I gave this place a chance with my own girl because of the good reviews. When you think about it these low cost clinics do many more spays than a regular clinic. I arrived at 8 am and had to wait about 30 minutes in line they checked that she was not in heat since she was 7 months and had not gone in heat yet (Pit Mastiff mix and large breeds go in heat later). After I dropped her off and surgery was started they realized she was about to go into heat so her surgery was a little more complicated (bitches are swollen a month before and after heats). At 2 pm I got a call that she was ready for pick up any time before 4pm. At 4 pm she was ready to jump in my high vehicle that she NEVER wants to get in (she does not get car sick just drools like crazy). Most foster dogs I have picked up after spay or neuter were out of it. She never acted like anything happened and did not need the pain pills I purchased just in case. November 2017 happened to be their 15 year anniversary so her spay was only 15.00 (would have been 55.00) plus 10.00 because of the more complicated spay. I waited to give a review until I knew that there were no complications. It has been 10 days and all is good! read more
