Market table
Gellie E.

This was my first time trying Texas de Brazil. The all-you-can-eat (AYCE), fine dining Brazilian Steakhouse concept here is just like Fogo de Chao's, but with a livelier atmosphere and more festive dark red walls. We made a reservation in advance, though with the numerous dining options at Fair Oaks Mall, it wasn't necessary - the space is huge and plenty of seating was available. When we checked in, the hostess asked if we were celebrating any special occasions (we weren't, but I appreciate the restaurant's thoughtfulness and care). We were seated when our full party was present. Once we were escorted to our table, our server, Sonia, asked if it was our first time dining there. Since it was, she gave us an overview of the experience. Her explanation was thorough, but it can be a lot to take in if you're a first-timer. She explained the market table (buffet) offerings, which included lobster bisque as the soup of the day, and she told us which meats were included in our churrasco experience. At $64 per person for weekend lunch, it definitely is a pricey experience, but it's still comparable to Fogo's price point. We started with the market table which has salad offerings and other fresh sides, veggies, and charcuterie. Everything was neatly labeled. I enjoyed their crispy bacon, lox, fresh Parmesan, shrimp, and prosciutto. They even had goat cheese and fresh mozzarella (yum!). While there was a pineapple carpaccio offering at the market table, I do wish there was a bigger fresh fruit selection. There was also a hot section with the lobster bisque, rice, beans, potatoes, and sautéed mushrooms. The lobster bisque was a lovely luxury item but was quite salty. I also found a lot of their meats to be on the salty side... but it will get you to imbibe, and they have an impressive wine section on display. Similar to Fogo, each diner has a coaster at their table setting to signal to the waiters when you are ready for the meat (red means stop and green means go, naturally). At the first flip to green, waiters quickly approached the table with meat ready to be served. However, attentiveness waned as the restaurant got busier, and some cuts of meat never made it over to our corner table. Some waiters were better than others at noticing the green card and offering their meat. After declining the same cuts over and over, waiters were good about asking if we were looking for a specific cut and sending them over to your table. We indulged in the picanha, pork ribs, beef ribs, leg of lamb, filet mignon, and flank steak. They also have Brazilian sausage, chicken, and other flavored versions of the meats. I missed out on the lamb chops :(, but that's on me for not asking. Sonia did an excellent job of checking on the table, seeing if there was anything we needed, and refilling the drinks and complimentary Brazilian sides. We were brought their pao (cheesy bread), garlic mashed potatoes, French fries, and cinnamon sugar bananas. We enjoyed all of the sides. You do have to eat the pao when it is hot and fresh out of the oven (the bread gets harder and the cheese less melty as it cools). The standout was the bananas - the lightly sweet and crispy sugary exterior will keep you coming back for more (our table ate multiple). Dessert and drinks are not included in the AYCE price, but the bananas quelled my sweet tooth and were a satisfying way to end the meal. On a Sunday afternoon, we were able to enjoy a leisurely lunch and left stuffed. I do think I enjoyed the market table more than the salty meats, but Texas de Brazil is a worthy location to gather and enjoy the steakhouse fare.

Dare I say...that it might be better than Fogo de Chao?! Their Pão de queijo (cheese bread) is insane but in the best way possible. You can literally pop them like skittles. The salad bar is stacked with everything from salads to fruit to snacks to appetizers to soup and their cuts of meat get better as the night goes on. Every time I think it's my favorite, here comes another skewer to change my mind. This place is a carnivores dream, but vegetarians can enjoy the salad bar for a cheaper price. Even the dessert is perfect. The espresso is the best final touch and service is superb. Our waitress was lovely and had some great wine suggestions. The dining area is spacious, clean, and visually appealing. The bathrooms looked good too, hehe. This establishment is perfect for anyone desiring copious amounts of meat in a pretty atmosphere. Parking is plentiful and the drive is worth it if you're coming from further away. Enjoy!!

Coming to this restaurant on a Saturday night, I knew it was going to be busy...and it was. However, I was seated in 5 minutes. The waiter was very knowledgeable and made few suggestions that made our dinner better. The salad buffet was ok. I didn't come here to eat salad lol. I only grabbed beets, Pickle onions, and pickle peppers from the buffet. Now the star of the night was the steak. My favorite steak was the picanha. It was tender and marinated just right. Overall was a pleasant dining experience worth a 5 stars review.

This Texas de Brazil branch was amazing. Our server was great always checking on us at the right times. The overall ambiance and atmosphere was cool and clean. I would definitely recommend coming here as I have came many times.

Went here for a work party. SO GOOD! The food keeps coming. The plantains are on point, all of the sides that come to the table was just unreal. The salad bar is so fresh, I wouldn't recommend the prosciutto though there were bones in it. I had to spit it out. Highly recommend you don't go nuts over the salad bar before the meat starts coming to the table. I was so full I couldn't try the filet mignon at the end . They also cook medium rare TO PERFECTION Great place for a date night.

Ever since I moved away from home, I've been going to Texas de Brazil for my Thanksgiving Day meal. It's become my tradition and I'm so happy for it! The food and service are among the best I've ever experienced at any restaurant. I always feel welcomed and appreciated while I'm there. They also serve some of the best, tender, juicy turkey breast I've ever had! Their Thanksgiving day items are delicious and I always make sure I get at least 1 plate of the traditional fixings but I come for the meats! The leg of lamb with some creamy horseradish sauce is my favorite combo! The shrimp at the salad bar is really good too! Obviously, the picanha is amazing and I usually get multiple servings. And the flank steak dipped in the chimichurri sauce! Everything is sooo sooo good! The restaurant is a dark red color with heavy decor elements. Lots of dark wood accessories that give off a royalty feeling. I feel like a millionaire when I'm there! It's one of the least expensive but best overall quality Brazilian steakhouses around!

This is one of my favorite Brazilian steakhouses. They serve a variety of different meats ranging from varying cuts of steak, lamb, chicken and pork. They also have a huge salad bar that includes lots of veggies and sides to accompany the meat. Compared to other Brazilian steakhouses, I think the quality here is pretty good and the meat is always seasoned well. My favorite cuts were the Picana (Brazilian marinated steak), the pork ribs and the filet. A great steakhouse with lots of options!

First, I apologize for not taking pictures of any of the meats, but they were goood, and I didn't want to stop to take pictures! This spot is much more grand than I expected from the outside, as I pass it going to fair oaks mall. The interior is very nice, and although it's advertised to dress business casual, many guests wore jeans and tshirts. I went for lunch, and I was stuffed for the whole day! They have a huge selection of salads and veggies, as well as charcuterie boards and soups! It's a huge buffet that goes well with the meats. I'd recommend getting their chilled string beans to go with the meats! For first timers, they have cards with green (please serve me) and red (don't serve me) cards, to let the waiters know that you want a cut of their meats. There are tongs you use to grab the slices. I liked the ribeye the best, that the waiter who was bringing it around kept coming back to me! It was wonderful! Overall, a great experience. It was definitely on the pricier end, but a nice time for sure!

Emma S.

SO amazing! The service was a true standout-- timely and attentive. The food was amazing as well, both the meats and the salad bar. A new favorite of ours! Very nice restaurant.

Ask the Community - Texas de Brazil - Fairfax

What's the pricing for kids (6 and under)?

3-5 is $5 and 6 and older is half price

Do you have outdoor seating?

No outdoor seating

Having a hard time finding the price. Not even on the website. Is it still $50 for dinner or have they raised it? $50 was high enough that I only can go occasionally. If they've raised it, I'm done. Never again. There's just too many places

Price is higher and the quality and taste of the food has decreased

Does brunch salad bar include dessert and hot items like mash potato?

Dessert is extra. They have like a scalloped potato for lunch that's included

Is the vip card extended due to covid? I haven't used mine all year yet

Yes extended to 11/30

Are Non alcoholic drinks , cheese bread and fried bananas included the price ? And unlimited?

cheese bread, fried bananas, and mashed potatoes are included. nonalcoholic drinks are not.

What meat cut available for lunch? I try to search and look at the menu, but no info.

Hi Tea, during lunch service, we do not serve filet mignon, ribs, or lamb chops.

Any experience dining here with a food allergy?

You can call and speak to the manager on duty to relay your concerns.

He didn't seem to understand that I wanted the seafood token, but finally got me one (by the way, the grilled cheese with honey is not included with this token...which is odd). There was one guy walking around who asked if we needed anything, so we asked for the salmon/shrimp/grilled pineapple to come around. He delivered! I will say the pão de queijo (cheese bread) was hard. I know how to make these, and it's not difficult. So they were either overcooked or left to sit for too long before they were brought to the table. Overall it was just okay, we had a better experience the last time we went in...I think it was 2021. But husband liked the meat, so I guess that's the point.

I had been here several years back with my sister but finally made it in again with my husband…read more Now that we live nearby hopefully we will come more often. You have a choice between AYCE or by the pound. I know last time I came I got AYCE but honestly I don't eat that much anymore, so by the pound is more cost effective for me. There also are two different prices based on whether you want BBQ + sushi with your buffet. (Sushi??? I'll stick to BBQ when going Brazilian.) I tried to sample small amounts of the dishes on the buffet and then got some picanha and another steak cut (maminha). Both BBQ cuts were very good - I liked the maminha more. (Fraldihna is my usual favorite, and it's kind of similar to the maminha.). They had a chicken with capers that was probably my favorite of the buffet dishes. The stroghanoff wasn't bad. Some of the other meat dishes on the buffet were a bit dry. I got a mystery empanada which turned out to be guava & cheese, if it had been warmed it would have been better. I love guava, but there was just a little small rectangle of guava paste in the very center; probably 80% of the empanada had no filling. Similarly, the cheese bread balls were cold and hard. Those need to be right out of the oven to be worth it. It's a shame, they probably were good when they were first made but they weren't by the time I got to them. The potato salad was ok but the balance of mayo to potato & other veg was off (too much mayo). I had some fresh fruit too. All in all, I'd definitely come back (I love the steak!) but I'd focus on the things I know are good rather than trying a lot of things.

They sell Brazilian style food, desserts, snacks, and drinks. We visited twice and tried 7 items. 1) Risoles de Presunto e Queijo Ham and cheese risole is the English name. It looked like an empanada. It was deep-fried and had a crispy exterior that was coated with breadcrumbs. It was thick and slightly gooey on the inside. The filling was chopped ham and white cheese. It was savory and slightly salty with a mild blend of salt, pepper, and herbs. Reheat them in an air fryer or oven. Microwaving or deep-frying will ruin the texture and taste. The exterior was tastier than an empanada, but it was average overall. 2) Pastel de Carne com Ovos Beef and eggs pastel is the English name. It was rectangular and had a crispy, thin dough wrap like Chinese spring rolls. It was filled with seasoned ground beef and chopped hard-boiled egg. The beef was a little dry and crumbly. It looked and tasted like it was boiled. The beef flavor was weak with no savoriness! The seasoning had flavors of onion, garlic, and salt. It was so basic! Edible and forgettable. 3) Rocambole Goiabada Guava roll cake is the English name. Rocambole is a Brazilian sponge roll cake made with eggs, flour, sugar, and butter. Goiabada is paste made of red guava and sugar. It was the filling in the cake. The flavor was like slightly sweet strawberry and pear with a hint of tartness. The cake was light and fluffy with an egg yolk flavor. A great dessert if you're looking for a light and fruity cake with modest sweetness. 4) Sonho The name means dream in Portuguese. It is a doughnut made with flour, sugar, milk, eggs, and butter. The doughnut was breadlike with a crisp exterior and plain taste. It had a pastry cream filling that was thick, smooth, and creamy with flavors of vanilla, sweetened condensed milk, and egg yolk. The plain bread wasn't noticeable because there was lots of filling. It's a dream dessert for lovers of sweet pastry cream. 5) Pudim de Leite The name means milk pudding in Portuguese. Brazilian caramel flan is the English name. It was sweet with a strong flavor of caramel, a modest flavor of milk, and weak flavors of condensed milk and egg yolk. It was good, but the weak flavors and lack of vanilla kept it from being great. 6) Churro It was 10 inches long, deep-fried, and covered with lots of cinnamon sugar. It was filled with dulce de leche. The outside was crisp, and the inside was soft, moist, and slightly chewy. The filling had a milky flavor with light notes of caramel. It was a great match to the strong sweetness and spicy cinnamon on the exterior. This is how a churro should be made! 7) Brazilian Hot Dog It had a half smoke hot dog, diced onions, bacon, and mayonnaise topped with Brazilian potato sticks in a french roll. The hot dog was jumbo sized and oily. It was savory and well seasoned with a firm texture that was slightly chewy. The bacon was thick, crispy, and savory with the right amount of salt. The potato sticks were crispy and had a light flavor of fried potatoes with no salt. Everything worked well together to make this flavorful and extremely savory. My only wish is that they add a seasoned tomato sauce. If you love hot dogs, give this a try! The service was polite and attentive. The dining area and restrooms were relatively clean. There were 3 tables and 24 chairs. They had a small buffet table with 15 items and bottles of sauces. The items included 5 entrees, rice, sides, and salads. The buffet costs $10.50 per pound. They are in a shopping center with free parking. This is a casual place with some good Brazilian style desserts, bread, food, and packaged goods along with great churros. They are worth a visit if you're in the area.

When I asked her to show some respect to elders (and injured elders at that), she refused to serve us and take our money. What kind of cashier speaks ill to their customers and refuses to take their money!? I feel really badly for the owner of Brazilian Bakery, because he hired a cashier who refuses to sell to his customer. She literally turned our $30 away. And only because I asked her to show some respect to my elderly mother. I was flabbergasted! I asked what is the problem? She said, "The only problem here is your annoying, stupid mother." Out of the several Fogo de Chão locations we've visited, this one was by far our least favorite. The meat selections we were served were mostly dry and lacked the flavor we normally expect from Fogo de Chão. The service throughout the evening was also not very attentive. Since we were celebrating our son's birthday, we were hoping for a special and memorable moment. Unfortunately, the birthday presentation felt rushed and awkward -- the candle was placed directly on the plate instead of on the cake, which made it feel less thoughtful. We were also excited to take family photos for the occasion. We asked one of the servers to take a photo for us, but she only took two quick pictures and unfortunately both turned out poorly. In the end, we didn't get any good family photos to remember the celebration. Because the experience fell short of what we had hoped for, we've decided to celebrate our son's birthday again at another restaurant this weekend in hopes of creating the memorable celebration we originally wanted for him. We've had great experiences at other Fogo de Chão locations, which is why this visit was particularly disappointing. Hopefully the management team can take this feedback into consideration so future celebrations for other families feel more special than ours did.

Even though it was a poor presentation plating wise. Seemed like the way I'd serve it to myself at home, not like a chef would. Unfortunately, they were unable to accommodate dietary restrictions to any degree. When we asked for just fruit instead of anything with dairy for dessert, they said there was nothing that could be done. All desserts had dairy. However, both desserts came out with a lot of strawberries, so it was strange that they could not be flexible on that. Second, both main courses were actually small in terms of the meat.
