Came here on a whim one day. My kids wanted pho. This place is huge; I haven't been here since it was last a hot pot place. The staff is very kind here. The menu is quite large with tons of options. This might be the most terrible Shaken Beef I've had here in DFW. For $23.99, the meat was so tough, i got tired of chewing. Also, It almost tasted like a regular vegetable stir fry not buttery and garlicky shaken beef at all. This was the most unsatisfying meal I've had from a really "nice" place, as others claim. On top of that, there was a $5 charge just for getting a small bowl to share with my child a so-called "bowl convenience fee." I've never seen another restaurant charge extra just to share soup. First time for that. The pho itself was also underwhelming. The broth tasted like chicken broth rather than traditional beef broth, which was not what I expected. The only decent part was the fresh coconut it is fresh. However, once you drink it, the coconut skin is left inside the shell. They don't offer to open it or remove the skin, and instead suggested we take it home to deal with ourselves. Overall, overpriced, small portions, unexpected fees, and poor customer experience. This restaurant is just few blocks off the highway near several other Asian style restaurant. This place is very spacious and also looks like it has a small market during the business week. Menu covers all the Vietnamese foods you can think of, along with many versions of Pho. We went on a Sunday after church and the service was very nice and they answered all of our questions just fine, but it felt very factory style with not much sincerity behind it. The food came right out so this place is pretty fast and we didn't feel left alone here as they checked on us an adequate amount of times. I got the Pho with a rib in it and I'd say it is what one should expect not much more or less. My wife got the chicken pho and the kids each shared our pho and some shrimp spring rolls as well as the Vietnamese crispy rolls. The bowls are more than enough to share. I ordered my pho with no onions and it was brought with onions. I got my pho again and it was almost as if it was the same pho just with the onions picked off the top. By this point the noodles were over cooked and it was only warm. I can't say for certain but I think my pho was RECYCLED. The meat was mainly fat and gristle. This place was terrible!! I'm not sure where the high reviews came from, but it's definitely not for someone who was born and raised in Vietnam. First off, prices are high. A bowl of canh chua costs $17 and a couple banh bot loc is $8. The spring rolls are normal price ($6) though. I don't mind the high price tag because we are in Frisco, but I was hoping for decent quality food with that price. Spring rolls were okay, but they used lettuce instead of the normal Vietnamese herbs so it didn't taste right. My sister was excited for her banh bot loc until it came out with a couple pieces... she literally bursted into tears because it was $1/piece for a tiny piece with of a shrimp inside. We gave our last chance for the canh chua which took longer than other dishes, maybe around 25 mins. The bowl was big, and can easily be shared with 2-3 people. Soup didn't taste authentic at all and there were only a few pieces of okra and bac ha inside. They did have a giant fish filet so at least we're not getting just flavorless soup water. Asides from the non-authentic Vietnamese dishes, the service was good, and the restaurant has really nice decorations. If you're looking to try Vietnamese food for the first time, sure, this might be a good place to go (very white-washed imo). However, be aware that this is not how authentic Vietnamese dishes taste like. I thought this would be another Vietnamese pho place. But I was pleasantly surprised. It has more to offer than many pho places I've been to. When I walked in, it gave me a different feel. The decor is modern, but you still feel the Asian ethnicity. As usual, we ordered our favorite item: a beef pho. We could pick up to three beef items from the menu. We decided on rare beef, meat balls, and my favorite beef tendon. All of them were quite good. I particularly liked the tendon, which was tender and chewy as it ought to be. But I would like it to be more chunky. The broth was delicious, and it was not greasy at all. We also got a grilled pork rice plate. The pork was nicely marinated and grilled to golden brown. It was savory, but I would like it to be a bit more juicy and tender. The menu also includes a decent variety of salads, which most Vietnamese restaurants don't have. Bean sprouts that comes with the pho is basically all you could ask for. Service was good. When you're done eating, don't wait for the server to hand you the check. Just go up to the front and pay. It looks like an unspoken protocol for most Vietnamese restaurants. What is unique here is they have many other items that I don't see in other places, such as beignets, Vietnamese style meat buns, macaroons, ice cream macaroon sandwiches. My wife and I decided to give this place a try because we love pho but we left very disappointed. We payed $7 for a plate of 2 shrimp spring rolls but they came mostly full of old soggy lettuce. When the entree came out, we noticed our bean sprouts were brown meaning they were not fresh either. The pho smelled terrible - similar to the smell of canned pet food. We cautiously gave it a try and it actually didn't taste like it smelled...because there was no taste at all. Though the portion size was large, don't waste your money on bad food that you won't be able to finish. Even the water cups smelled as if they hadn't cleaned them. The server had no care that we asked for the check so soon with nearly untouched bowls. He happily added his own tip to our check though. The ingredients were not fresh, taste was nonexistent, and the service was minimal. We've tried several local pho spots and this was, by far, the worst.
