I was told they could not guarantee our group would be sat together and the manager asked me if I would be ok if part of my group was sat on the other side of the restaurant. Never have I ever... Never have I ever eaten a more perfectly seasoned and tender sirloin steak! Texas Roadhouse is definitely my new go-to spot for steak. The prices are incredibly reasonable, which is probably the draw for droves of couples, families, and parties. On Friday and Saturday nights, expect a wait; however, I recommend that you check out the bar while you wait. I generally have good luck scoring a couple seats there, bypassing the wait for a table. The bar also has lots of big-screen tvs that are tuned to whatever the night's sporting event. Country music plays overhead, making for a fun, celebratory atmosphere. The portions are very generous, and most people end up taking a to-go box. I do appreciate that they offer smaller cuts of meat; I find the 6 oz portion perfect for me. Steaks and entrees are served with choice of two sides. The side salad is huge, and topped with mounds of chopped egg, tomato, and cheese, and I definitely recommend it over the caesar. I never really understood the big hype about Texas Roadhouse (WHY IS IT ALWAYS SO PACKED?!), and my recent experience at this location confirmed it. There was a line out the door, and we had to wait ~30 minutes to be seated. Once seated, we were given multiple silverware sets that were all dirty (yuck), until we finally got lucky. Their margaritas are huge - I will give them that, but so incredibly chock-full of sugar. Their steak was okay - nothing too amazing to talk about (their medium steak was very much like a well-done steak...). We also waited 45 minutes for our food, which was a little ridiculous. The very best part about our experience was the rolls. THOSE DARN ROLLS and that darn sugary/sweet butter get a 5/5 stars on their own. I could have had a whole meal with those! Maybe I should have. Given how long we had to wait to be seated and wait for our food, it is highly unlikely we will be back - unless I have a sudden craving for rolls. read more

It's cheap and they are a popular chain. The drinks are fairly inexpensive and huge place to watch a game. I ordered Catfish and the other two ordered steaks. Their steaks came out and were cooked to order with nice hot sides. My catfish didn't come out until they were done eating. Don't know what went wrong but it was hot and fresh when it did get to me. Manager made it right and extended the appropriate apologies. Drink prices are not on the menu - server quoted a price for my selection. I ordered based on that price. She was wrong. Bill came and drinks were $3 more than quoted. Apparently other drinks were actually the price quoted. That was annoying. I should have insisted she double check the system and trust her guess-stimation. It was very busy for 9pm on a Saturday. We will be back. It's about the only place around that I can get decent catfish and the management takes care of customers when the kitchen screws up. I came here tonight for the soft opening, a friend invited me. I had been to TXR before (the Mound Rd one) and it was good, so I was looking forward to trying out this location. Because it was a soft opening, we had 5 menu cards to choose from (there were four of us) and we ended up with pulled pork, a sirloin kebob (mine), country-fried steak and a half rack of ribs. The sirloin had some sort of sweet seasoning which was tasty, and came with rice and my choice of side, so I ordered a sweet potato, which came with a HUGE topping of melted marshmallows.... delicious. Waitstaff was good too, every hour or so they do line dancing which was fun. They also give you peanuts and you can throw them/the remains on the floor, which I believe is a staple at most TX Roadhouses. I'd come back to this location, I don't live in Ann Arbor anymore (I'm a UM alum) but am here frequently. The $8.99 early dinner special (see my menu pic) is a good deal too. read more

Was greeted warmly upon entering. Place was packed on a Saturday night. I had the 12 oz. Rib-eye. Solid choice. Two sides were solid. (beef chili and steamed broccoli) My dining companions each had 10 oz. Sirloin steaks - medium rare. Very juicy. They were happy. I cannot speak about the alcohol situation but it seemed people at the tables around us were pounding down the drinks. Good times! The awesome blossom fried onion appetizer is strongly recommended. This was the first visit we have taken to TRH since before the pandemic. It was a pleasure to see that they offered individual bags of peanuts instead of doing away with them entirely. When the two of us arrived, we were seated promptly in the bar area just where we wanted. It wasn't too hot, and it wasn't too cold. Although as a tall person, I do wish the table lighting was a bit higher. The server was very nice, and patient with our indecisive pondering of the way-too-extensive menu. Drinks were filled promptly throughout the visit, even though it was fairly busy. It was interesting to see the recent negative reviews, because the place was pretty buttoned up. I'd imagine they are just angry table pounders since most of their review history is negative, and so I'm not holding it against the staff. My one gripe was the kitchen sent out the appetizer at the same time as our entree. Additionally, the menu is a bit hard to navigate and could use a brand refresh if I'm being honest. We ended up with the combo appetizer. The potato skins were great. The boneless wings were surprisingly juicy. The rattlesnake bites were like a mozz sticks, but with pepperjack cheese. They were great and the first thing finished! The ribeye arrived perfectly cooked, with the perfect amount of fat you'd expect from a ribeye. My friend told me about it and honestly it has converted me. Highly suggest trying it if you haven't. With all the other stuff you'll end up ordering, the 14oz should be more than sufficient. The applesauce was applesauce and the fries were gone, although my friend isn't a fan. As we finished up, MacKenzie, our server was checking in to offer the typical box and desert. She was readily available and not pushy. It's actually nice to see that COVID hasn't made a negative impact on one of my favorites and it seems to attract enough people to remain fully staffed. As always, I left TRH way too full and hating life. But that's because the portions are plenty and I lack self control. But it was done for the low price of 29.65. I have been here a few times, and have enjoyed coming here each time. I love the complimentary hot bread and peanuts. Their portions are large and generous. The ribeye and baby back ribs are pretty good. Awesome happy hours deals ($5 mug-aritas, and more). Service has been great, but the place tends to get pretty packed so expect a wait time on a busy night. We also signed up on their email list and got a free appetizer. This place is awesome. My family and I have been here several times. We are closer to Lone Star in Dundee, however, the past two times we have dined there; the service and food was lacking. Out of the five or so times I have visited this location, the service was great. There was only one instance where the service was a little disappointing. Onto the food.... the rolls with the whipped butter. YUM! Throw a blooming onion in the mix, and why do you even need the steak? Lol. But, in caae you skip right to the food... the ny strip, ribs, and prime rib are all amazing choices. I have yet to be let down by the food. The bathrooms are clean, as well. There hasn't been paper or water all over the place to date. It is currently one of my father's favorite dinner spots. We will definitely be back. read more

The portions were really big and the food was fine (except that the peanuts were stale) and the price was good. The service was very odd. Overly attentive. Went to this location for my sisters birthday dinner and had the worst service I have ever expiernced from their waiter named Ryan. When asked nicely if it was possible to have the floor swept beneath us (due to a whole plate of salad being dropped under us) he rudely came back with a broom, told us to get out so he could sweep, and proceeded to tell us he has never had someone ask that in his 10 years of serving while making other rude gestures. As if bringing out a broom so we didn't have to smush dressing covered salad our whole dinner was such an inconvenience for him. The issue is not the quality of the food. The issue is that our carry-out order was missing salads, a dessert, and sauce, all that we ordered. The BBQ rubs had decent flavor, but desperately needed the extra BBQ sauce that we ordered. Neither of us received our side salads. And we did not get our strawberry cheesecake. I suffer from aphasia due to a series of recent strokes. I and a couple of my friends stopped here to have an opportunity to have a couple of drinks and somet and ing to eat. After having been served the first round of drinks, I was immediately cut off due to my 'slurring' of words. I immediately objected, and pointed out the 'slurring' was due to my recent health issues and not some form of inebriation. The bartender said it did not matter and then proceeded to ignore the whole party to the point of us having to pay our bill and leave. It is pretty obvious that the staff and management have no concept as to how to deal with the potentially disabled when the effects are not obvious, like those who use wheelchairs, service animals or otherwise need assistance. This is unfortunate as I have been a very loyal customer and now it seems I will have to reexamine my choices for dining out. read more

Eh.... That describes my overall thoughts in regard to this Texas Roadhouse. My husband and I had often talked about giving this restaurant a try. We often saw the parking lot so full of people that it -had- to be good, right? We finally decided to go there instead of our usual spots. We both really wish we hadn't. The place was packed, so clearly, people seem to like it... but why? I just don't get it. So, let's break it down. They got two stars instead of one because our server was good. The rest of the service was a little poorly timed and offputtingly 'fake' in their cheer. Our appetizer came out a mere minute before our main dishes were brought to the table. I am not exaggerating. So let's talk about food. The rolls/bread were tasty and nicely warm. However, I don't want to start my meal off with a sweet. It would have been better with a non-cinnamon/sugar butter option. I would talk about the tater skins in more detail if I had actually had time to eat more than one. The one I did eat was rather flavorless and dry and if it weren't for the sour cream I am not sure I would have bothered. My husband ordered a 16 oz sirloin with corn and steak fries. It seemed a third of his steak was fat and gristle. The corn was a bit grey looking, so he didn't even touch it. The fries, he said, were far too salty to be edible. I had the country fried sirloin with a side of corn and mashed potatoes and gravy. The country fried sirloin itself was okay... the cream gravy had a smokyish flavor to it that tasted fake and was not appetizing, which is unfortunate because without it, the sirloin was dry. The grey corn... well, I should have followed my husband's example and not bothered. It was mushy. I did not even know it was possible to cook corn so long and poorly it would be mushy! The mashed potatoes with gravy were absolutely flavorless. By the time we got home, neither of us felt all that great. I had a bad taste in my mouth and my tongue felt like it had some strange film on it. Not going to be heading there again... Why do people like this place??? There are so many better options for steak in this town. Those are the places that will be getting my money in the future. read more

They have peanuts which is a nice snack while waiting for drinks. I didn't try their alcohol - my only regret. Then Chris brought us out rolls. Freshly made in the restaurant - piping hot out the oven. And with cinnamon butter. And endless refills. As in Chris reminded us of this so we could ensure that we took some home for ourselves. My friends got the cheese fries wth bacon which were also good but I was saving room for my meal since I was already eating the rolls. I got the roadkill (cooked with grilled onions, grilled mushrooms as jack cheese) dinner meal (for $8.99!!!). Ten ounces of meat because I can eat a lot--and I eat it quickly. I like my meat really well done and asked for it thusly. When Chris brought it he made sure to wait and check until after I'd cut into it to make sure it was to my liking. And was it ever. Sooo good. Best meat I've had in Ann Arbor, to be honest. And it came with two sides. I chose green beans that were cooked with bacon and super smoky which I enjoyed. Plus I got the mashed potatoes (with skins - my favorite). Chris refilled my drink just as it was empty and I was about to ask for another. When we sat down, we remarked that another table was leaving with three boxes but at the end of our meal we understood - and left with four. I would actually give it a 3 1/2 if they had let me use my coupon for a free app that the Westland locale emailed me to lure me back as a customer. They didn't allow it and frankly it put me in a sour mood. I am not a huge fan of the chain (my husband is) but this is definitely a step up from previous locales I have been to. We had a nice enough meal. My husband had a big sirloin that had more flavor than some more spendy ones he had eaten lately. His sweet potato was actually cooked and we both enjoyed the ranch topped salads they brought us. I was all over the freebie bread and cinnamon butter and they gladly brought us more to encourage my gluttony. My ribs were merely ok, lots of odd pieces of bone shard though like they had cut them badly. They were fall of the bone shreddy and lightly sauced. No smoke ring or any such glory, they were more like shredded pork still attached to bones. My baked potato was huge and loaded and happy. The waiter was young but extremely sweet and he did a great job. He was so apologetic for his manager not accepting our coupon. Really I was very impressed with him. He seemed to be managing his tables very well, including a hugely demanding party seated nearby. The manager did stop off but mostly to find out why we were not enamored of their Westland locale which he used to work at and apparently is quite attached to. I wish he had thrown us a bone with that coupon if we were going to have to detail our dissatisfactions with the other place. At any rate the experience was decent overall and as it is around the corner from my husband's work we will definitely be returning at some point. Been here 3 times. First time right after they opened, I had a perfectly cooked chain restsurant Sirloin steak. We went again November 15th, and my sirloin was tough as can be. Well, the side I started on was a little tough. I hate complaining, so I just ate. I was starved. Second half, I had to use force to slide fork in to hold while I tried to cut with steak knife. It wasnt due to searing. I literally had to use strength to insert my fork. I advised the waitress the 2nd half of steak was inedible. The manager confided in us that she too had a tough, crappy steak she took home recently. I was floored that she revealed this to me. I was equally floored that I was not offered any discount. I placed an order online to be ready for pickup at 6pm. I arrived a few minutes early at 5:55. Checked in at the pickup desk to let them know I was there. At 6:15 I asked if they knew how much longer it was going to be. They check and told me that my order was ready all but the baked potato because they were out of baked potatoes. I opted to substitute with fries. I was told all they had to do was add the fries and the order would be right out. 5 minutes later a different person came out and told me the same thing about the p baked potato. I told them I had already stated to substitute with fries. It was not until 6:28 that they brought me my food. When I asked if it was still hot I was told probably not. I was very frustrated but took my food. I should've ask to speak with the manager but just wanted to go at this point. During all of this there was a man that I was standing next to and was talking to that was also there to pick up his 6pm order. They told him when he asked about his order that his order had not even been started yet! That it could take up to another 30 minutes due to "a disconnect with the kitchen". His order was brought out just a few minutes later and just places on the pickup shelves. Had he not gone over and looked at the order they put there who knows how long he would've been there. And yes, the person who brought his order out knew his name as he had just spoken with them minutes before. One a good note, even though the food was cold it was good. We were visiting from California so wanted to try something new. The Service was absolutely amazing! You can tell the employees truly "love their job" as their shirts say! We ordered ribs and catfish! The catfish was incredible! I absolutely loved it! The ribs were a little overcooked and not "fall off the bone" as I hoped! The sweet potato was good but since we went back again two days later and saw marshmallows melted on top, that made them much better!
