What's the deal with major chain establishments being mediocre versions of themselves whenever they are established on a military base anyway? So this is Texas Roadhouse. Everyone down south is familiar with one of these. I don't need to tell you much about the food, since the recipes shouldn't change, right? So I'll just run down my personal favorites, along with the various experiences I've had with THIS particular location. First, let's discuss my favorite lunch item from this joint: the boneless buffalo wings. My GOD! To think that a steakhouse could produce buffalo wings that FAR outweigh most other places that offer the same thing...to include "B Dubs" (that place is SO overrated. don't even get me started). They make sure to use white meat with minimal breading, choice of hot or mild, and the seasoning is perfect. Add a bit of blue cheese and you can't go wrong. Next personal favorite of mine would be...any of their burgers. They nail the seasoning to the point where I'd love to steal their recipe so I could improve my own backyard burgers on the grill. Also, I love their sides. The steak fries are seasoned to the T. But my all time favorite side is the baked potato with butter and extra sour cream. I get that one with my filet mignon every time. I won't even go into their steaks because they need no introduction. They're just that great (for a chain). Only places I've had better steaks at were also local joints most tourists have never heard of. Or...the steaks I cook at home. ;) Now that I've mentioned all the things leading up to their current 3 star rating, onto the cons of this place. I don't understand why the bartenders here have to be so difficult to get a hold of, dismissive, here but not here, and ultimately just impersonal as all hell. I can remember going to a little podunk redneck town known as Lawton, Oklahoma and being served by some of the nicest, friendliest, and cutest bartenders I have ever had the pleasure of being served by. If you guys follow me enough, you know that I normally have a high esteem for bartenders. I make sure to tip them well because some of the best service I ever seem to get happens to be from bartenders. I dunno, just..there always seems to be something about a bartender's demeanor which exhibits that they genuinely care more. But this doesn't really seem applicable to this specific location. I'm not sure if being on a military base makes a difference. But it's as if they hire the least inspired employees to run these restaurants (I've had similar experiences at the base Starbucks). I even have another example of this. Did you know that one time when I was on a date night with my wife at this restaurant, she had to send back her steak TWICE because they couldn't cook the steak to a medium temperature? Like...this IS a steakhouse, isn't it? There is simply zero excuse for this. Especially here. I don't even remember if we were compensated or not. It doesn't matter anyway. This only further exhibits the half-assedness of the employees these establishments seem to hire. The bottom line: the food is what you'd expect from Texas Roadhouse (for the most part). The service is shoddy, at best. And considering I've had better at other Texas Roadhouses, I know it can be done. This place needs to step up their game in the service department. FAST! read more

Finally eating here after living here for 7mos. Wife and the kids have been eating here but glad to have finally been drawn my patronage here. Treating myself to one of these huge juicy steaks and what better way than the namesake itself. TEXAS. Raised thinking that Texas would not ever compare to California and that Cali was the bomb compared to any other state but as I've grown, especially more conservative, this is a state I can see myself retiring in rather than an excessively liberal state. It is such a challenge for me to refuse eating at Texas Roadhouse at any given second! This place is never disappointing no matter how much they can mess up on stuff. The place is just so inviting with country music playing and super friendly staff. Its so inexpensive for good quality steaks and sides and drinks and most importantly..... FRESHLY BAKED BREAD ROLLS!!! These gems are just ridiculously delicious and addicting! I'll admit that i usually get too full to finish my food because i end up going to town on this gift from the gods. And the cinnamon butter that goes with them??? TO DIE FOR! ugh, i always feel a lil guilty eating them because it tastes like im already eating dessert. So good. The steaks are always on point and if you want an 8oz steak or bigger, you can pick out which steak you want at the front. I always get a baked potato and salad, and my husband gets their seasoned steak fries. Always yummy! And i like to get my steak smothered with grilled onions and mushrooms. Damn good! Ive seen other folks order stuff like smothered mashed potatoes which looks amaze balls! Fried pickles are also amazing. And the drinks are very good and inexpensive! Hmm... I can't see how this place has over 2.5 stars. I've tried this place out twice with a friend and my personal experience was subpar to say the least. The first time I had ribs and I can't remember what I had the second time because it was that unmemorable. The food was stale and dry along with the portion sizes being small for the price we pay. There aren't many local BBQ places in El Paso but the few options are certainly way better in taste and quality than Texas Roadhouse. The two good things about Texas Roadhouse are their bread w/cinnamon butter and watching people "saddle up" for their birthday. read more

They have an extensive and well-priced lunch menu that won't leave you hungry or broke. If you want a Texas size portion steak house then consider Texas Roadhouse. They offer more then just steaks. The burgers are appealing and are a local a favorite. But I came for the steak, the restaurant has a strong Texas feel to it when first entering. A popular place for military families and special occasions. The Lunch specials are a classic and well advertised in front. Perfect place to enjoy a conversation, good food and alcoholic drinks. They do birthday shoutouts and sing you a song, today was someone's 6th birthday and her family celebrated at Texas Roadhouse. It's a completely comfortable family setting. There is a bar available but separate from where the families are seated. Sports channels are on all tv monitors and music is always playing in the background. The best part is that you get free hot freshly baked rolls, which are fluffy and delicious with the cinnamon tasting butter that it comes with. They also bring you a fresh basket of rolls when you are done or upon request. The 12oz New York Strip I ordered (onions/mushrooms and traditional cut) was juicy with tons of flavor. The 23oz Porterhouse T-Bone Texas sized cut was massive! I recommend a take out box because there's a good chance you won't finish that. The portions are huge my only advice is to come hungry and don't let the appetizers get you before the main course lol. Our server Ashlee was outstanding and so patient with all the elderly folks-and made Moms 90th birthday effortlessly smooth and enjoyable for all. One thing I miss from GA is definitely Long Horn Steak House. Since there isn't one here Texas Roadhouse has become one of our favorite chain steakhouses here. If I'm being completely honest it's better than the Ruth's Chris they have here in town. My two most favorite things hear most definely have to be (of course) the rolls. God I could gain 100lb just off the rolls, and the steak salad. The steak salad is always something I look forward to getting every time I come. Love the flavor of the steak, and definitely love the house made Italian dressing that comes with it. Love this place! read more

i had walked in and asked for a table for 2, then waited a total of 35 minutes, which was understandable because they seemed decently busy. we then get called in, we get sat. We weren't given anything to munch on while waiting not one watiter stopped by to check on us, we waited for 40 minutes and not one waiter stopped at out table, not any worker nobody. we eventually left because we were hungry and tired of waiting. there was waitresses going to every table around us but completely disregarded us. as soon as we got up to leave, we then hear have a great day and thanks for stopping in, while waiters and others were standing there. they have terrible service, i suggest not going to one in fort bliss. read more

Went over here when I visited my sister and brother in law recently. I wasn't disappointed with my pulled pork. Asked for the freshly baked bread, they are quite addicting. Our waitress was nice and friendly, she forgot a few things here and there but overall service was good. They have a bucket of peanuts too while you wait for food. I like the margarita that I had too and a cup of chili. My sisters tried the sirloin steak, my brother had the chicken critters and loaded potatoes. Great service. Been deployed for a year; so the filet was super amazing. But regardless, it was cooked perfectly to my request.

We love this place! The atmosphere is fun and all the staff is very friendly. My favorite is the Ribeye but I love the hamburgers and salads too. It's on post so you do need a pass but it's easy and it last for month so we always try to back at least one more time before we have to get another pass. You can't go wrong eating at this place. Worst service, our server brought us our drinks and had to wait awhile for our small order. She delivered it and never came back to see if we needed refills or if everything was ok. My husband had to go find her and ask for our check, she was hanging out at the hostess desk gabbing with her coworkers, we also asked if we could have a take out box, she gave us the smallest one she could find. We stuffed what we had into it and needed a bag and had to ask for that too, I never would have left her a tip but my husband was too nice. You expect so much from an establishment on a military,especially when your husband is getting ready to put his life on the line and deploy. Idk of Tiffany the waitress was having a bad day or if she just didn't prefer to serve patrons of color, but it showed. We had to wait a good 15 minutes before we could even place our order and then waited a good 50 minutes after before some realized we ordered food. 2 other tables were sat town, served with bread and drinks and we had nothing on our tables. We had to ask for bread! Finally, when the food came we were so disgusted,we just paid for our drinks and left. The manager offered to pay For our food, but also mentioned we should have placed our food order within 25 minutes of sitting down for a turn around of some sort? He was talking work jargon, that we did not understand, but we were made to wait. As in no one was visible to assist us. They wanted to sit us in chairs segregated away from the rest of the patrons when we got there, but we just asked to sit in a booth. I had an early dinner at the bar and was very impressed by the food, service, atmosphere, and all around welcoming by the service staff. The bartenders, Selyna and Kasmia, were not only well versed on the bar offerings, but also on the full food menu. I took the recommendation and had the sirloin steak which was delicious and cooked perfectly to my request. The sides of Caesar salad and beans were a perfect complement to the steak. The restaurant was full and the staff maintained a high degree of camaraderie and friendliness. This was an all around wonderful experience. Wait time is very accurate. I ordered the Chicken and sirloin combo with mashed potatoes plain. The steak was cooked to perfection, I can never complain about the service due to them constantly being humble and courteous. I love that Freedom Crossing has this place! I love their bread and butter and having peanuts on the table and waiting area is a big plus. Helps curb the appetite while waiting. Great place just another roadhouse. Waitress was really nice but kept trying to up-sale stuff to the point it was obvious. One of my buddy's as for medium cooked steak it came out it was still raw in the middle not even rare. They took it back and put the same piece of meat back on the grill, instead of giving him a new piece. By the time it came back we were all done and ready to go. 2nd time I've eaten at a Texas Roadhouse and the second time I was happy for it. The food was hot, tasted good and the price was on par with a Dennys or IHOP but I'd take Texas Roadhouse over either (except for IHOP crepes) any day or night of the week. Your drinks are refilled within seconds. The bread is really good. You don't ever feel rushed or forgotten about, even on a weekend. I sat at the bar and the 2 African American women who tend there are phenomenal. They know their jobs well, tip at least 20% and one of them looks "pretty good in dem jeans" to borrow a phrase from Eddie Murphy's 'Raw'. I didn't see a ring but I saw one guy get shot down as he started flirting with her, so just be happy with the good service. It's kinda hard to tip, as several people serve you. read more

I asked our waitress if Texas Roadhouse no longer served real Mac & Cheese, because what I saw on my plate was not anything near authentic. When we first arrived the wait was not very long at all, they sat us almost immediately and provided us with bread while we waited. Well they should have provided us with more bread because we waited over 20 minutes. Once the waiter got there everything turned around, his name was chris and we had a fantastic conversation. He was on top of our orders and was extremely kind and courteous. Without him that day we would not have had such a great meal. The food was the same as always delicious, they filled our margaritas up so much that you couldn't move it without spilling it. Overall this place was a pretty good lunch, good food, good drinks.
