I've always liked Texas Roadhouse, but this visit was really disappointing. Service was pretty rough from the start. Our group of eight was sat at a table that was clearly meant for six, and it felt cramped the entire meal. It definitely took away from the experience. The steaks were the biggest letdown. They used to be consistently good here, but this time they just weren't. My filet didn't look or taste like a filet at all. It looked more like hamburger meat, and the quality just wasn't there. Others at the table felt the same about theirs. Overall, it just wasn't the Texas Roadhouse experience I was used to. I'm hoping this was an off night, but right now it feels like the food and service both have gone downhill. read more

We dined at this location this past Sunday for lunch. The restaurant was pretty busy so there was a 20-30 minute wait. After being seated we were greeted by our server, Maddie, who did a fantastic job taking care of our table! Upon placing our order, the food arrived in a timely manner taking into consideration the number of guests. We ordered the sirloin & ribs, chicken fried steak, and bbq chicken sandwich with baked sweet potatoes, mac & cheese, and green beans for the sides. Sorry no pics, but the food was great - hot and flavorful. If you know anything about Texas Roadhouse, you already know the rolls with honey cinnamon butter can't be beat! This location is easy to find and has a large parking lot. We got there around 6 and there was a 30 min wait, they have benches outside and inside to wait on. Not sure if they take reservations but I'd suggest u get on the wait list as soon as you get there. The staff are very friendly we had an excellent server answered all our questions . Brought their delicous bread out quickly took our orders and food was delivered pretty quickly. They provide a bag of peanuts at the table noose scouping them at the front door, lol. Texas Roadhouse for the win! Popped in for a bite and a beverage, it was quite busy this evening! When we first arrived, there weren't any open seats (at the bar) as they were quite busy, but we were happy to wait our turn. We typically sit at the bar, and the service is good. However, when Jennifer is there, the service is (especially) great! We listened as Customer after Customer sat at the bar and Jennifer remembered what they had previously requested for a beverage, and asked "is ??? what you would like?", how nice is that (such a lost art!). She also places salt on top of the napkin which IYKYK, keeps the ice cold frosty glass from sticking to the napkin (also a lost art!)!! We very much enjoyed the food and ice cold beer, and general conversation with the people at the bar as well as Jennifer. This is what should be delivered at all roadhouse locations ... and represents the brand very well! The restaurant energy was positively buzzing, and running like a well oiled machine! I decided to walk up to get my order. When I first walked up to the to go order spot. No one came to the window to acknowledge me. So I walked all the way to the opposite side to talk to the hostess and let her know i wanted to order to go. She told me I had to walk over to the other side to order. I let her know I just came from over there and no one came to the windows. She then let me know she would call them over the radio. Once i walked back to the to go side I had noticed they have a mirror tint, you really can't see inside but they definitely can see you. I could make out the movement, and still I had to tap on the glass to get the to go order staff attention. This to go set up is not customer friendly, 1 we can't see our help, the customer has to stand out in the cold to order. There isn't a QR menu available so I had to get the physical copy. The staff felt the cold too, since she told me just come back to the window when you're ready, then closed the window... again, once I was ready to order I had to tap on the window again. If you're gonna order to go, call in your order. You can pay when you get there if you don't want to enter your info in. I think Texas Roadhouse needs to have this walk up area enclosed to keep their patrons safe from the weather elements. The presentation on the to go order is good. The food was ok. read more

Mom has been out of the country for a year and one of the things on her "must eat" is a nice piece of steak. (She claims she hasn't had a real steak for the last year, or the ones she had were undeserving of any kind of praise.) What better place to have steak that in this fine state of Texas! We were staying with a friend for a few days and he suggested this place saying they have plenty of choices for steak plus they are generous with all their sides. We went with it. Whoa, this place is poppin'! The wait of people were spilling outside, so we all naturally assumed it'd be at least an hour wait. All good, though, because after checking in, I got the chance to take a look at the different kinds of steaks they had on their display case. (That might have been a bad idea - hunger pangs got all annoying for a minute!) I also got to take a good look at their indoor decor. So many to look at. A few of their signage's will elicit smiles and giggles. I found them a bit entertaining. Luckily, my name was called out not even ten minutes later and we were seated in no time. This menu is no joke: there is something for everyone! I went for the Prime rib (medium) with a side of seasoned rice and a cup of chili. COMPLIMENTARY BREAD: The bread itself was amazing: soft, fluffy, buttery, but the butter truly made it better! Seriously, they're just giving these away!?!? What a fantastic starter! CACTUS BLOSSOM: Very similar to Chili's awesome blossom. Made to order hot. Batter was seasoned well and battered thin. It was pretty tasty. The did elevated the flavor of each bite. Also a good starter. FRIED PICKLES: Not my cup of tea, but I tried it anyway. It wasn't bad! And it wasn't as sour as I expected it to be. My entire party enjoyed it - that plate was empty in no time. CUP OF CHILI: I only decided on this side because our server was nice enough to give us samples when we were seated. The side I got was topped with fresh onions and cheese which help with texture and flavor. I love love LOVED it. There were no beans (which is how chili should be!) and packed with flavor! Salt and spice level was perfect! SEASONED RICE: Like the chili, also seasoned very well and kinda worked as a palate cleanser to the prime rib, somehow. It was savory delicious. PRIME RIB: A little tough for my taste, but that's totally my fault for listening Hubbers' "get it medium" suggestion. (I usually get it medium rare.) However, it was still delicious! It was served exactly as how a medium prime rib should be. Regardless of its toughness, it was still seasoned very well and dipping in on the au jus made it better. Not bad for a self-mishap! FOOD: 4.5. SERVICE: 5. Our server (Can't remember his name - was it Nate?!) was awesome! His timing with everything was perfect! Absolutely no snags here. VALUE: 4. Above average. PARKING: Shared with other spots. It could get busy during the dinner rush. OVERALL: 4.5. What a great run! Mom was incredibly happy with her steak. She rarely eats the whole cut, and this is one of those rare times she did. There is no better testament at how good this place is than that! I know they have branches all over Texas. Came here on the Sunday night before Thanksgiving and wow was it crowded. There was about an hour wait. Even with how busy it was, the hostess and our waitress were both amazing! The service alone was very impressive to me because it was so incredibly crowded. They were very personable and I didn't feel rushed at all. Our table was a little sticky but oh well. I got the 8 ounce new york strip medium rare with fries and corn. My boyfriend got a steak from the case, baked potato and green beans. Not sure if they heard me wrong but my steak came out more rare than medium rare, BUT that's on me because our server did ask for us to cut it to check and make sure it was okay. I actually preferred the medium rare to my boyfriends medium steak. Corn was alright, had a nice kick which I enjoyed, fries were a little salty but good, loaded baked potato also a little salty and the green beans were solid. I also didn't realize the rolls were unlimited here so that was a nice surprise because everyone knows how good their rolls are. First Impressions are everything! Although we have eaten at this location many times. This day was very different. As we received text notification that we would be notified when the table was ready. So we gladly waited. As it approaches 45 min wait, I go up to see if we are close to be seated. Olivia asks for the name. She scrolls through the list as says. Oh 10 more minutes. Ok. So we wait 10 minutes. My husband goes to check with Olivia. To our surprise she says she is not able to find his name... I ask how does that happen? As she blanks stares "IDK" . I go bc When I asked you. You told me 10 min. Again with the "idk". Help me make it make sense. So we get a text. But his name is no longer on the list? If we received a text wouldn't someone have entered the data. You cannot search his name. What about by number. Nothing could be explained. No apologies. Suddenly we were able to be seated... This pertains to the Garland location on PGBT. Visited this location for the first time this evening. Had my usual: 6 oz filet, mashed potatoes and the house salad. All were excellent as usual. The one star rating is strictly for the margarita. As usual, I ordered an 18 ounce margarita on the rocks with an 1800 kicker. After already adding the kicker, i took my first taste expecting the usual flavor. I was greeted by almost pure limeade - very tart, too tart to drink. I requested a second kicker from the bartender who said she could not provide one. Assuming that was a price thing, I asked for a separate shot. She refused. I explained that the drink tasted like it had no tequila in it. She said it had the usual 2 ounces plus the 0.75 ounces from the kicker, so 2.75 ounces of tequila IN AN 18 OUNCE DRINK. She said it was policy to protect me from drinking too much. Margarita recipes vary, but almost always at least 1/4-1/3 of the volume is tequila. My drink should have had at least 4.5 ounces of tequila BEFORE ADDING THE KICKER. I did not drink the margarita and will not return to this Texas Roadhouse. To date, I have not had this problem at the Prosper, Texas, location. To her credit, the bartender did not charge me for the drink, though etiquette dictates that I still tip based on the charge for the drink and add a bonus for her good will. read more

Usually a pretty decent place but I order the New York strip and was given a ribeye. I told them as soon as it was out on table which waitress also agreed that it was in fact a ribeye. She took it back and said the cook said it was a strip?!?! you can visibly see the spinalis rib cap on the round shaped steak and know it is a ribeye and literally told me it is a strip which is usually a more rectangle shape which at point my wife told me just eat hit with said I will probably never go back as steak was over cooked and super chewy. read more

Sadly very Sub Par today. From the food to the service. Came alone and sat at the bar. Mikayla the bartender took my order. Literally stood behind me talking to another table. Noone asked if my steak was ok, which it was not (extremely underdone even more med rare). Had to flag another server down with The bartender still literally standing right behind me talking to another table. Mind you they were not busy at all. I have now eaten over half of my state and about maybe half of my sweet potato which was ordered as loaded and the only thing they put on it was the marshmallow. No butter or anything else. I'm very disappointing. Also when I first ordered my drink I knew it was a drink with the name cowboy in it and I kept saying that and she never once even began to look at the menu to see if she could help. I finally found it myself and it's called the Jamaican cowboy. It is very good but extremely poor service. That she has still yet to check on me since taking my original order. And it has been almost a good half hour to 45 min. Typically I leave a very large tip especially when I come alone. But the service she has provided can not be considered service of any store. I'm extremely disappointed in my experience at Texas Roadhouse tonight. I used the online waitlist well in advance, which estimated a wait time of 1.5 hours for my party of 6. That's not unreasonable, so I planned accordingly and arrived on time. After checking in at the host stand, I was told it would be another 30 minutes until we were seated. Fair enough but then I ended up waiting outside for 2 full hours. During that time, I watched several other parties come and go many of whom appeared to arrive after me. I checked in with the host stand multiple times, only to be told they were still "waiting for tables to get up." No updates. No apologies. Just the same line each time. A party of six isn't a huge group, and this kind of disorganization and lack of transparency from the staff is unacceptable. I understand that restaurants get busy, but if you're going to offer an online waitlist and make time estimates, they need to be somewhat accurate or at least better communicated. Seating for 15 was available at 7; however we were waiting for one smaller table for 50 minutes before we could be seated, so that was frustrating. After we sat down we were served immediately and the food came out fast. Because we had to wait so long I didn't order a steak but enjoyed the boneless wings and Cesar salad. The wait was well over an hour and a half. When we were finally seated, I ordered one of my favorites; Roadkill, which is a ground steak with (as the menu states) sautéed onions, sautéed mushrooms and jack cheese. When I received my order it had no jack cheese. When I asked the waiter about it he said that those were just choices and he asked if we wanted onions and mushrooms and we answered yes. I told him that I never heard him say that and I never received this item without all three. He simply walked away and did nothing. There's no surprise why this place is always booming and busy because the food is always good! Typically you'll wait 45min+ wait during the weekend so your best bet is during the week where you'll wait about 10-15 mins to be seated. The warm rolls and bread is always a winner winner , steak dinner. Like most people who visit, I order the ribeye but the salmon is equally good. My sides are always the corn, rice and a side house salad with ranch. Yes, I order the same sides EVERY time and I've been visiting for years.
