Since my last review, they have added a large paved parking lot next-door, where it used to be just gravel. Inside they have one of the largest used book/media sections you'll ever see in any thrift store. The stuff that gets donated here is usually better than what you would find at Goodwill, which means you're more likely to come across unique and valuable finds. You'll also find every imaginable knickknack under the sun here for office home and hardware use. In the back room, there's bicycles, electronics, and furniture. The front of the store is given over, almost entirely to clothing and shoes. Still my favorite thrift store to come to in Fredericksburg.

I went to look at a chair they highlighted and a volunteer lowered the price to sweeten the pot since it had been there a few days already. I left with two chairs. . The volunteers are very nice and helpful. The best thrift store in Fredericksburg and a great cause!

Went back with my parents yesterday as they were back in town visiting. Always a great atmosphere and the new location is larger. Owner always seems to be present and is very helpful. Excellent selection of quality silver at great prices. Every time we go in there are a number of new settings/designs which usually means my wife is purchasing something. Always great to support a local business. You will be pleased when you stop in.

I hope they are using Ebay prices for items that actually sold, not what are being asked It is staffed by all volunteers and last year they gave $1 million to the Hill Country Youth Ranch. That sounds like a lot but given expenses have been exceeding revenue by over $1 million a year the Youth Ranch Foundation continues to cover it but their money won't last for ever. I have friends who moved to the Big Springs Ranch for Children in Leaky which is part of HCYR to be volunteer live in grand parents. Beautiful setting with a working ranch, charter school and chapel but I believe only 2 of their 6 cabins are in use now. It's hard to get staff when you are that far from a good sized town.

Most of the clothing is for kids and infants. There's not too much in the way of men's clothing though. The price of jeans tend to vary between the $8 to $12 range. Shoes are a little more expensive. Merchandise: the merchandise was incredible,,, great quality and nice brands of clothing. They were all free of stains, rips and holes. Coming from California I was extremely impressed by this store... so much so I came back the next day and bought another basket full of stuff :) Can't say enough good things about it! That said, for folks into that thing, really nice shop. For those not into that, the rocks are really cool, much of the jewelry is nice. But really what sets the shop apart is something they sell that I have not seen anywhere else. Most of the shop is dedicated to items made out of a mineral called honeycomb calcite. So there are numerous items carved out of this stone that looks remarkably like real honeycomb. It's definitely worth stepping inside to see this unique collection.
