After stepping over the rags I was immediately greeted by a woman sitting in a chair off to the side of the salon. I went for a manicure which was $15. Not many colours of nail polish to choose from.. and did not have any new collections out. Disappointed I grabbed a polish and sat in the chair. Shortly after sitting down I took a look at the surroundings and realized this place was not very clean. The tools she used on me were dirty. The bowl of water for my hands she used for cleaning her tools.. and even used it to clean off stuff from my nails. GROSS! I did not get the proper manicure. No cuticle oils .. 2 second hand massage.. made me WASH my hands.. shitty job filing and cutting my nails.. and the nail polish job was shit! Did not tip her. She was rude! The place is DIRTY and GROSS! Wouldn't recommend this to anyone even tho there were many customers coming in and out of the salon.. Caught them around time of change of shift from day to evening, with receptionist and a few off duty workers kibitzing, a welcoming atmosphere. With the shift change the receptionist scrambled to find the available "Beatrix", her profile, besides enticing photos, notes an exotic background, "Dutch/Ukrainian", heck, I would have taken a wee green Martian. Beatrix was working a double shift (attendants seem to get a limited number of shifts per week), and I am guessing the receptionist dragged from her dinner break. Beatrix was lovely, good standard conversation "where are you from?", and great service, I think I'd describe her as "sweet". Since covid and now working at home I do not get out as much, and she gave me the simple emotional and physical connection I needed.
