The soft serve flavor combinations are creative, and the hand-cut fries are a welcome touch--perfect on their own or alongside a sandwich. The homemade turkey BBQ sticks to the traditional recipe, without sauce, and the steak sandwiches are a cut above the norm, thanks in part to their use of Corropolese rolls. I was sad to hear that they had lost all of their ice cream the day before due to a power outage but despite that the staff was still in good spirits and they were still able to serve soft serve ice cream! We dined outside under a table with an umbrella on it and loved our food and our ice cream for desert! Stopped in with a family of four for ice cream. Signs clearly explained the policies on masks and spacing. The floors were marked to space people in line. The staff was wearing masks correctly. We ordered ice cream cones and sundaes. My daughter's order was misunderstood and they corrected it quickly and rounded up her portion. Seating was plentiful and spaced well. A little more shade would have been helpful, but it didn't slow us down. Prices were fair and options were plentiful. We'll definitely be back and looking forward to trying the hot food. read more

I throw it it away after one bite and didn't even ask for my money back because the little girls they got working seem like they would understand why . So in April I went home to the Lehigh Valley, and was driving up up Route 100, and saw an old venue back open for business. I walked in and was greeted like I use to be when it was open many years ago. The portions always plentiful for the cost. As it is all about ice cream, there is not much to say. Disappointing pandemic-era experience. Sign on the front door clearly indicated that only 10-12 customers were allowed inside at one time; masks were required. I opted to eat in the small indoor seating area after a staff member explained this was permitted "as long as it's not a big group." As the cashier went on to explain, due to social distancing regulations, only every other table could be occupied, but, given as the seating area was completely empty, it would be fine for me to sit there. All customers were complying with the mask requirement and, despite pouring rain, after ordering, they were considerately waiting outside under the awning to get their food. The proceedings seemed very reasonable. Everything changed a few minutes after I sat down: a group of 17 people who were not considerate enough to wear masks even while speaking to staff members at the counter, came in and were permitted to sit inside even though they took up a good portion of the tables and their group size exceeded the total number of customers permitted inside at one time. I quickly decided I was not going to eat in after all. Upon seeing me standing by the door, a staff member offered that I could sit in the row of seating along the window. (Um, a few feet more distance doesn't sufficiently assuage my concern when, including the additional half dozen customers in line to order, there were twice as many people inside as was deemed safe in the small space.) I replied that I would be changing my order to a "to go" order in light of the large group. Received no apology for the disruption caused by the big group. As I overheard from the conversation with staff, the big group had even phoned ahead to place their order. The staff knew they were coming, yet did not inform me that the empty seating area would soon be overwhelmed. I was craving a hot dog and ice cream and went out of my way to check out this locally owned joint. Next time I'll just go to a Yocco's drive thru or order outdoors at the closest Rita's franchise. They have less character, but I don't have to risk breathing the potentially COVID-19-laden droplets of 17 unmasked people in a small, enclosed space. Giving them 2 stars, rather than 1, because the food was fine even though the staff was thoughtless. read more

Love this local family owned place. We thought they were open til 9, only to find they closed at 8 PM. We were about to leave when the owners came out & told we could still order. We said it was fine, but they told us it was ok & asked for our order. We ordered 2 sundays, which they brought out to our car. They also told us it was on the house. Wow, who does that? We of course offered to pay & they told us it just creates more business. They were right! Stop by this wonderful local establishment. BTW- the Sunday's were delicious!!! read more

Came here for ice cream the second day it opened back up and service was good. I ordered salted caramel which was creamy and excellent and the cookie monster which was a 6/10. It is a very nice spot to just sit and enjoy ice cream on the hill. Will be coming back. read more

Ice cream reminded me of the old countryside... however service was somewhat sub-par really confusing when you walk through the door. They need to put a line system in place. Also they need to think about training their employees a little better. Great country location with a nice view. Inside sitting is typical for family oriented informal meals and snacks and the outside concrete benches offer great views and fun for after sports or fun meals with ice cream. As might be expected the ice cream is really quite good and the turkey and pork barbecue were very good. Friendly staff and a clean bathroom round out the overall very good experience. read more

I think a hotdog is the fastest of all fast food. I waited 20 minutes for 2 of them. There's some customer activity as I type this but there wasn't any in the 1st 10 minutes. I could say something but I don't think they actually forgot. But it seems obvious my criticism would be met with blank stares as there doesn't seem to be an adult running the place. It's like a movie where the kids have taken over the town and although they seem like they're working not a one of them has a shred of urgency. They need help! The kids working need to be trained properly, service was ok, but have been there several times and I always leave feeling pissed off. My order never comes out right i just accept it and go, but why should i have to. Lets get our shit together and make this a place worth comimg back too. When we stopped tonight, there was a person in the back room looking out at all the customers smiling, wanted to slap the smile off her face and say hey jump in and help these kids they are drowming, and she had flip flops on thats a huge no-no in the kitchen if i am not mistaken. I remember coming to Countryside as a kid, and this did not really feel the same. It looks nice though, and there is a full menu of fast food choices to go along with the ice cream. Now that this place has changed hands I should update my review. I'm sad to say I'm not impressed. We stopped in on Easter around 5pm. They weren't very busy. The service is weird and frankly, it stinks. The setup makes no sense. First, there are a bunch of people standing around and one person at the register taking all orders (ice cream and hot food). Then she relays to the people standing around. Our order had to be repeated multiple times. We got one brownie batter with peanut butter sauce and one blizzard type thing with vanilla soft serve, peanut butter, and mini peanut butter cups. We were disappointed in the brownie batter, which wasn't very fudge-like chocolate, but more a soft chocolate flavor. Overall, prices are a little more than at our favorite shop, so I'm not sure if we'll be back. I'm a little sad that hands have changed yet things seem pretty much the same. We really need a solid ice cream shop around here. read more

A fire had ended the one in this location, a few years ago. New owners came in and revamped the place. They changed the parking lot and entrances, painted the exterior bright white and put a blue roof on. The entire inside has been flipped. The exterior restroom faces the intersection. The dining area now faces the valley. The inside is a stark white and extremely plain. I kind of miss the cutesy country decor it once had. The counter set up is a bit off, for smooth traffic flow, as the hard ice cream choices are in the center, with the ordering counter to the right and pay counter to the left. It should be ice cream case, ordering and then paying counters, for a quick smooth flow. The ice cream is still great. Didn't have an opportunity to try other food. Service was great, but serving sizes shrunk, as prices increased. Glad to see it back and working, but hope they work on a smoother traffic flow of customers. read more

First time here. Drove by and decided to stop by and get some ice cream. So sorry that we stopped. No organization when you walk in. Don't know where to go an order your food. Everybody stands anywhere and it appears the just take orders and don't really see who was there first. Ordered soft ice cream, it was so soft it was melting before we even got the cone. Secondly it was the worst soft ice cream I ever had. Tasted totally fake. No bathrooms in the restaurant must go outside to use the bathroom. Bathroom was disgusting. RUDE OWNER! Stopped by tonight for a burger and fries and decided to eat in car in parking lot. Before leaving we stopped to drop our trash in receptacle. I emptied the rest of my water bottle on the macadam in order to throw empty bottles along with our food containers in can. While putting my trash in can the male owner comes out back door sees me and rudely says "...thanks for the trash" and walks back inside. I responded loudly with "excuse me!" as he pulls the door closed. My husband then rings back doorbell for an explanation. Male owner comes back out, my husband proceeds to tell him we just spent over $17.00 on food so our trash was from our purchased meal. Owner's angry response was "do you KNOW how much I pay for trash pickup?" and walks back inside. Ok - now I am REALLY MAD! I walked back in the dining room IRATE - never have I been treated so rudely and I made sure I made a scene. No apology from the employees - no nothing! To top it off after driving out of the parking lot the owner went out to the same trash recepticle to pull out my bag - he really needed to check what I discarded?
