We had a group of 8. Luckily we were able to be seated quickly so thats a plus. We ordered a few of the appetizers and a few meals, and 2 of the orders came out wrong. We had asked for plain chicken bites and the first ones came out buffalo, second attempt came out with some garlic sauce and then finally third try they came out correct and plain. I ordered the Jack Daniels burger medium well. It came out well and then some. The edges were overcooked and burnt and the inside had ZERO pink in it. Not sure if theyre chef understands what medium is, but if not they should definitely retrain them. Our waitress was MIA most of the time. When food was wrong, she was nowhere to be found. We saw a tall manager lady walk by a few times and tried to get her attention but she even ignored us worse than the waitress. From the time we asked for our checks until the checks actually arrived was over 20 minutes. We even told the waitress we were trying to make a movie and needed to leave quickly but she cared very little about speed. Some of the meals at the table were good, but half werent. I've ate at many Fridays before and they've been good so I'm not sure if its this location? Regardless, won't be back. read more

I would think with the pandemic it would be best to change the flow of traffic to be 1 door as an in door and 1 as an exit door to limit personal contact more. The bathrooms were dirty. We took our 5 year old grandson for lunch. He ordered the buttered pasta and fries. When it came it was a clump of noodles in a bowl that was screaming hot, possibly from a microwave. Very disappointing. We also ordered a side order of onion rings which were way too crunchy and over fried. Also had a chicken sandwich and a burger and they were mediocre at best. Upon arriving to the restaurant, the staff tried to put the fault on Friday's corporate call center that takes orders instead of just fixing it like I wanted. I asked for a manager and she corrected my order. I had ordered a mozzarella sticks platter but they had my order for 6 mozzarella sticks. They also had 2 bottles of wine on my order when I ordered one. The order was corrected by the manager and I was given my 15% off that I used for my order when I placed it with a promo code and I waited for the platter of mozzarella sticks. Upon arriving home, I saw that my Cajun shrimp and chicken pasta had NOT ONE shrimp in it and the steak I ordered for my boyfriend was dry and inedible (I ordered it medium). Of course all my food was cold because I had to wait for my platter that they left off my order. At this point, I filed a complaint with T.G.I. Friday's. They never contacted me. I followed up to let them know that no one ever reached out. This was their response: "Upon checking, it do shows that the GM spoke to you personally about fixing your check and honoring the 15% discount on your platter." After being served a turkey burger that I nearly broke a tooth on because of all of the burnt carbon pieces from their dirty grill on...I was served a second turkey burger to replace it EXACTLY THE SAME WAY!!! When I asked to speak to the manager, she proceeded to tell me "THATS THE WAY THEY COME" I used to work for the parent company of TGI Friday's and let me tell you...that's NOT the way they come. I realize that the COVID-19 thing has things out of sorts, but this restaurant has been doing the take out for a while. EVERYTHING went wrong! First, I tried to order on line with my gift card and there was no place to enter the number. All they accept is credit cards. So I called the number and selected 1 as I was told for takeouts. I got a "this mailbox is full" and was disconnected. So I called back and selected another option, no better as I was disconnected with no message. Giving it one more try I got through and placed my order and told the person that answered that the mail box was full and I am sure they are losing business. She replied, "that can't be we have a service". So much for a thank you! When I got there I called the number in the window to let them know I was there and as luck would have it, the "mailbox was full". I waited 20 minutes before anyone waiting got their food. Calling ahead was not a benefit! So I get the food and as fate would have it my wife's salmon was very small and way overcooked. And her broccoli was very old and yellow. Waste of $17 there. My ribs were almost like jerky. Very dry and almost no meat on the bones. My fries and salad were ok which is why they get 1 star. I will NEVER eat there again. read more

Myself and 6 of my coworkers came here after having to leave another restaurant because the service was so poor. We were all pleasantly surprised at both the speed and friendliness of the server and the quality of the food. I know these American style dinner joints are hurting overall but last night it really came through for a reliable decent dining experience. I personally had the loaded fries as an appetizer which were delicious, and then the Buffalo burger which had two chicken wings skewered at the top of it which I thought was a really cool idea, as a man of variety myself that was definitely a plus. I was never offered an apology or assured that the restaurant would try to do better. Supposedly, they "spoke with the restaurant staff at length"; I did not receive anything that would show that this occurred. Normally we wouldn't come here for steaks, ribs, and lobster, but once we sat down and saw those tempting pictures in the Menu, we went for it. Big Mistake! My Rib Eye was mostly fat and gristle, and just didn't taste good. My honey got the Jack Daniels Sirloin steak and wished he hadn't... the Jack Daniels sauce is just a sweet, sticky, glaze, and not very tasty. The ribs just weren't good, we didn't eat them. How can ribs not be good? They were a little crispy, dry, and not much sauce. And they just didn't taste right. I had a side of Lobster tail... I took one bite and it made me make a face! I mean, like, YUCK! I almost spit it out. I tried another taste later, hoping for better, but it was fishy and really nasty. We both got broccoli on the side (served as huge awkward stalks) and Chris's was green, and mine was brownish! Ick! Additionally there was no butter or seasoning on it, so it was pretty inedible. The Mashed Potatoes were okay. The Waiter took the "lobster tail" (a term I'll use loosely!) off the tab which was nice, and he was very understanding that I didn't like it, in such a way that he knows more about how things are handled in the kitchen than he wanted to tell! They're served with a horseradish dipping sauce and they are amazing. The rest of the food is just ok, but that's what three stars are for. Oh, how I lament the days of the old TGI Friday's, back when I was a kid and experienced Vanilla Coke before it was everywhere, the kind with the real vanilla syrup. But things change and TGIF has reincarnated itself several times over the years (I won't say how many) since I first ate at one as a 9 year old. The newest reincarnation does nothing for me. My husband and I visited on an impromptu date night when we needed to stay close to home and eat for cheap. We picked TGIF because they sent us coupons, and because sadly, in Garner there are really very few locally owned dinner options. It was a meal. What can I say? The Red Oak on tap was skunky (a common problem with Red Oak as they don't preserve their kegs and the chains they are in don't promote their beer properly, so there is not enough turnover to keep the beer from turning sour) but our waitress changed it for a Sam Adams with no hesitation. The service was actually probably the best thing about this place. Our waitress was about 14 months pregnant and seemed worn out, but she was an excellent waitress nonetheless. The food was OK. I got a burger. It was a burger. I think I asked if they could cook it closer to medium (menu says medium well or well) and it was pretty much charred. But I still ate it, and didn't complain. I don't remember what my husband got, so apparently it was neither memorable or offensive. Bottom line: it's close, and they send coupons, so we may eat there again, but I would certainly rather support locally owned businesses or the Logan's right next door that has a terrific management team than just eat at another everyday chain. read more

Went to this location last night with my wife to use a gift card we had received a few months ago. We were seated as soon as we walked into the door so the evening started off on a positive note...but that's where it ended as far as customer service went. Our waitress had obviously been pissed off earlier because she wasn't friendly at all. When she brought our drinks she slammed one down on the table and walked off. That was her tone for the next hour we were there. The food was really good though but it was overridden by a crappy waitress. I got the Jack Daniels Grilled Chicken sandwich. It was amazing. The grilled chicken was very tender and flavorful. Way better than expected. The bun was warm and toasted. It came with a Jack Daniels dipping sauce. If was very sweet and very good. I would have ordered a whole bottle of the sauce! TGI Fridays in Garner and Chili's in Garner both were unable to accommodate our middle schoolers who graduated yesterday and attended their first formal dance as well last night. Was told it was an HOUR AND A HALF wait for both eateries, in half empty restaurants on a Tuesday night, at 9 pm EST. Now in their defense, no reservations were made on our behalf. However, who in the world would have thought we needed them at 9 pm on a Tuesday in Garner? I digress. Thanks to Buffalo Brothers also of Garner for accommodating us on NO notice (the group literallywalked from the TGI Friday's parking lot to Buffalo Brothers and then the parents drove over). They fed our group of 8, and they were done and finished by the time they would have even been sat down at a table in either of the first choice restaurants. We were told that they could not even sit and wait in TGI Friday's and would have had to stand/hang around in waiting area for the entire hour and a half. Not acceptable.
