Lunchtime at Annie's is very *very* busy and loud, so if that's not your thing, you may want to visit slightly later in the afternoon. If you do, turn up early and wait for opening time / reserve a table just in case. As for the rest: The Good: The burgers were great - we weren't asked how we wanted them cooked, they were just sent out just-so. I wasn't sure whether I'd like this, but I did. The beer was good too, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The place was very clean, service was fast and they had decent Guinness on tap. The Bad: The plates could have been bigger - if you're eating a burger that you have to deconstruct in order to consume, you need a little room, and these plates didn't have that. The glasses were old and scuffed too, which wasn't a good look. The Ugly: We were told that we couldn't leave a tip with our card. It's 2019 and we couldn't leave a tip with a card. I left all the cash I had, which wasn't near what the staff deserved, and though the food was good, I still had a nasty taste in my mouth. Hopefully they'll change this policy and I can remove this paragraph and upgrade my review to the ***** that Annie's deserves.

It was tasty otherwise, though the 'onion rings' in the burger came apart long before they were cooked, leaving streaks of batter within the burger. They're perhaps best left as a side. The chips/fries here are a fail. The nothingness of the skinny fries or the pale not quite crispness of the chunky fries don't leave much of a dilemma. I avoid. As is par for the course in a restaurant that narrowly misses the mark, the service is mostly excellent; the staff is warm and friendly. That is worth the visit. Otherwise, some quality-control is needed.

The food is a buffet - I didn't eat it, but it didn't look to me especially appetising. I didn't notice that it was topped up very often (or, indeed at all) in the hour I was there. Now, I'm from the States originally, and have visited Baltimore on more than once occasion. I have no idea what exactly makes this establishment resemble Baltimore even a little. There is a very large car park, which is just as well, as there is nothing else there to draw visitors. Not recommended.
