We ended up switching from the bar to a table as our reserved seats on the rooftop were closed due to rain, but all the service workers were very kind about the situation. They are also very vegetarian friendly. My friends and I ordered a bunch of the sharable, and everything was delicious. The highlight was definitely the sweet feta dip though. They also give you extra pita once you run out. The falafel were a bit more spicy than expected, so watch out for that. The restaurant is located inside the Global Ambassador hotel. Go past the lobby and boutique and take the elevators on the right to the 6th floor. Limited parking is available but we opted for the valet service ($10). It was packed on a Saturday at 5ish. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! Our server, Emma, was fantastic. She curated our meal to what was needed and it couldn't have been better. Drinks: Summertime love - 10/10 this was fruity and refreshing. It was on the sweeter side but I absolutely loved this! Decadent spicy margarita - this was husband's drink. He loved it! It has a decent amount of heat. Food: Tuna Crudo - 10/10! The quality of the fish was great. Our server recommended pita bread to dip in the Crudo sauce and it was a game changer. Would highly recommend this! Crispy Greek potatoes - 8/10, the potato wedges were cooked well and the tzatziki sauce was great. Manti dumplings - 8/10, slightly saltier than we personally liked but it was still very good. We came here on a Sunday evening at 5:30 to celebrate a birthday. Thea is in the Global Ambassador hotel and worth walking through. Once you take the elevator to the rooftop you walk out to see a gorgeous view and a golden hued, airy restaurant. We were seated and introduced to our server Sloane, who was top-notch. She was friendly and regularly checked back in through our dinner. We started our meal with the whipped ricotta that was superb and an order of the olives were the perfect compliment. They have a fun drink menu with most of the cocktails being around $20 and a good wine list with glasses ranging from $16-$34. For dinner two people shared the mixed grill, which had a little bit of everything in it- chicken, souvlaki, lamb chops and more. It is a great way to try many things that are on the menu. I had the Manti Dumplings and the Spicy Tuna and Crispy Fried Rice. Both were so flavorful and beautifully plated. They offer a birthday dessert but we could not eat anymore, so Sloane included it in our take home package. Very nice! And overall a great experience. Théa is a Mediterranean rooftop restaurant located on the 6th floor of The Global Ambassador Hotel. Highly recommend making a reservation for the outdoor patio seating to dine with a beautiful view. My friend and I made a reservation for Friday 4:45pm. The time was perfect - it started with a sunny view of the mountains, then we caught the sunset, and Arizona sunsets are the best! We were there until it got dark around 7:30pm, and as we walked by the railing, we saw the street lights and cars - that kind of ruined the vibe (lol) but we were leaving anyway. FOOD: The menu is designed to be shared, like tapas. They have so many good dip options, or you can order all six, "Goddess of all Dips", which would be great for a big group. We tried the Whipped Ricotta, and it was our favorite dish of the night! I saw the table next to me get a flaming dish, and I had to order it - Flaming Saganaki (kasseri cheese that they light at your table). It had a nice crust to it from the flames. Honestly didn't think the cheese needed to be paired with anything (comes with pita). The Tartufo flatbread was packed full of truffle flavor! It was very creamy with the combination of ricotta and parmesan cream sauce. We love potatoes, and debated between Greek Street Fries or Crispy Greek Potatoes. Settled on the latter and were happy with our choice. We also had the Seared Salmon - loved the crust from the sear and the flavor of the fish, but did not care for the flavor of the ancient grains. For dessert, our waiter actually advised us against ordering the Citrus Panna Cotta! He said he doesn't like the flavor combo, and some customers haven't enjoyed it either. I appreciated the honesty! He recommended the Lemon Olive Oil Cake and Flourless Chocolate Cake. We thought the chocolate cake didn't fit the Mediterranean theme, so we tried the olive oil cake. It was a bit dry and did not have enough of the raspberry compote. The raspberry compote and lemon curd were very tart, but the cake and whipped labneh helped tame it. DRINKS: Both of us drove, so we ordered from the Zero Proof section. The Dolce Vita was really good - "tequila", verdita, lime, and soda water. My friend enjoyed her Peach Bisous as well - "amaretto", honey, peach, lemon, and luxardo cherry. We had a great experience between the ambience, service from our waiter Gavin, and the food & drinks. Overall score 3.5. I did research of best restaurants in Phoenix with a view, and Thea certainly topped the list. While the mountain views and patio vibes were as billed, unfortunately the food missed the mark for us. First, I've never been to any place claiming to have 'brunch' without any actual breakfast items - might as well just call it lunch, but oh well. Thea claims to be Mediterranean and its dishes are meant to share for two. The menu was a juxtaposition of several countries' dishes, including Greek, Italian, and even Japanese (sushi). - Drinks: We ordered the frose sangria, spicy margarita and a dirty Titos martini. The marg was the highlight, while the martini was good but I thought overpriced at $22, and the frose was ok but a bit overpowered by the aperol not common in sangria. - Apps: We got the hummus and muhammara. Both came in small bowls with sliced pita, with an extra plate of pita provided. I wouldn't say these were exactly large enough for two, and actually on the smaller side compared to other places that offer larger portions of the same dips for the same price. The muhammara was a bit overspiced which overpowered the taste of the red pepper. - Sushi: We got the crispy tuna rice, which was probably the smallest portion I've ever seen. The bigger disappointment was it was sitting in a sauce that made the rice soggy and not very crispy, while the dollop of tuna wasn't spicy, and the dish was also overpowered by sesame seeds on top. We also got the Over the Rainbow roll which was dull and flavorless, akin to a similar roll you would get in a grocery store for much cheaper. The roll also included cucumbers which would have been good to mention on the menu for those that don't like it. If you're a Mediterranean place also pulling off sushi, it better be executed really well, and both of the ones we ordered were just basic. - Flatbreads: The flatbreads were decent, we got both the margherita and the parma. Both tasted good and had fresh ingredients, with the parma a bit on the salty side because of the prosciutto. - Service and ambiance were good. Our server was attentive and dishes were delivered timely. The mountain views definitely created a pretty patio setting. Price point of dishes overall was on the pricier side, but expected for the area and the fact that it's in the Global Ambassador. Located on the top floor of the Global Ambassador Hotel, théa is a Mediterranean focused restaurant. Indoor and outdoor patio seating is available with spectacular views of both Camelback Mountain and downtown Phoenix. The menu is well executed with descriptions for everything. The hostess served us water and told us our server would be right with us. It was quite busy being the day after Christmas but the staff works well together to deliver drinks and food in a very timely manner. Our server, Gilmore (sp?) was on point all through our experience. Be warned you "may" be seated at low couches and chairs with a low table on the patio. They do have other regular tables but depending on how busy they are you may have to wait longer. We ordered a large variety of dips, mezze, skewers and vegetable items and one flatbread, one sushi roll and one salad. For our party of six it was plenty of food to share and we all got to sample a little of menu items. All of the food was very well prepared and delicious! Standouts were the pita bread and dips, the brussel sprouts and Flaming Saganaki. They have an extensive wine list but we stuck with the specialty cocktails, which were all very well received. The dessert menu is limited but we choose the citrus panna cotta, flourless chocolate cake with pistachio ice cream and the baklava. Overall the desserts were ok, but nothing to write home about. The chocolate cake was not the deep rich chocolate I expect for flourless cake and the baklava was fine but no better than anywhere else. We chose théa Mediterranean Rooftop to celebrate our anniversary, and overall it turned into a really memorable night though it definitely started off rocky. When we arrived, they couldn't find our reservation, which immediately had us panicking. My boyfriend asked if we could possibly wait for a table to open, but unfortunately the first girl who helped us had a terrible attitude. It was such a turn-off and really disappointing, especially on a special occasion. Thankfully, another host stepped in a girl with red and black hair and she completely saved our night. She was so sweet, kind, and genuinely helpful. She got us a table and turned the whole experience around. I truly wish we had gotten her name because we're so grateful for her. Once seated, everything was amazing. Our waitress was the absolute sweetest incredibly attentive and warm. We had a beautiful view and enjoyed every single bite of our food. We ordered about four appetizers and two main courses, and everything was delicious. To top it all off, at the end of the night our waitress surprised us with a sweet treat for our anniversary, which made us so happy and felt very thoughtful. * Thea is located on top of the Global Ambassador Hotel. The parking is not in this hotel unless you want valet then just bring your Bentley to the front. Lols When you turn into the hotel you will see another building of fancy apartments across from the Global. Go to the side of that building and you will see an opening for the parking garage. There is a $25 fee to hold it so if you're a no show you pay that I thought it would be snooty walking into this hotel but not the case, I was greeted warmly by a gentleman inside who pointed to the elevators. The elevators are located on the right side when you walk in. Take it all the way to the top for Thea. There is inside and outside seating. I told the hostess my friends were already seated outside so I took a quick walk around to find them. One side has a great view of the Camelback mountains while the other side is nothing exciting. We sat in the middle on the couches and planned to take pics of the views later anyways. There is a brunch menu but you can also order off their regular menu. Food is kinda pricey but we just ordered a bunch of appies to share and it was pretty reasonable between the four of us. Everything was delish - baba ghanoush, manti dumplings, roasted broccolini, calamari, Brussels sprouts, feta or Brie (I forgot which one) and honey, and the truffle flatbread. My friend didn't care for the latter saying it was too much truffle but I love truffle so give it all to me. Lols My friends got cocktails and said they were good. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. My only gripe is at the end when I asked the hostess who was was walking towards me if she could take a quick picture of my friends and I. The brood was back in town for my wife's birthday and father's day weekend. We elected to go and celebrate at Thea. Our grown boys have not been to Thea and requested we go. Reservations were made, nice clothes were worn and off we went for fine dining with a fashion side-show that Thea is known for. The staff is very attentive. We ordered the goddess of all dips, six different mezze, fresh grilled bread and raw veggies. This was delicious and the varied dips were very good. The mantis dumplings had spiced beef, Greek yogurt, crispy garlic and chili. The dumplings were moist, tasty and well flavored. The Moroccan roasted carrots with harrisa, aleppo honey, herbs, feta and pistachios were scrumptious. The sumac yams with rose petal harrisa, whipped labneh and sumac date glaze were equally impressive. These veggie dishes were the highlight of the night and I can't stop raving about them. The stood out in a great way. The kebobs with chicken, kofta and gyro skewers were decent but not even close to the veggie dishes. This place was the go-to-spot when they opened but "the bloom is off the lily". Perhaps, the newness has worn off or the kitchen staff has changed at Thea. Don't get me wrong they are still good, but the costs today don't seem to match the quality of food. We arrived a bit early and were able to order drinks at the outdoor bar. The bartenders were friendly and helpful, the Greek Prince was suggested, it was nice and refreshing. The cocktail prices are high, though this seems to be the case at all the high end restaurants these days. The restaurant and patio are beautiful, it is worth the visit just for the atmosphere. The menu is modern Greek/Mediterranean, as well as sushi. Our group of four shared a variety of small plates. Overall, everything was good, but not amazing. We did not try any sushi. Based on some of the reviews I was expecting a bit more. We thought the meatballs and the truffle filet skewer were the standouts. There were a few complete misses including the carrots. I also had an issue where one of the plates had an ingredient not listed on the menu- one I'm allergic to (this is my biggest annoyance at restaurants, listing most ingredients but leaving off just one or two). They did quickly correct it, which was appreciated. The service was great. I'm always on the hunt for sushi and Mediterranean food. So when I came across this restaurant and saw their menu had BOTH, I had no choice but to come here for a meal. Upon arrival, I didn't realize this spot was located in a hotel. You take the elevator to the rooftop and you are immediately greeted by super nice staff and beautiful views. The restaurant interior and the mountains you could see from your table were absolutely gorgeous. Onto the food! I started with the Muhammara of course as this is one of my favorites of all time. I also got the Pressed Yellowtail and Avocado, the Manti Dumplings, and the Chicken Souvlaki Skewers. The Muhammara was absolutely incredible. It was perfectly nutty and sweet, and encapsulated all of the delicious flavors of an exceptional Muhammara. I was licking off the bowl! The Pressed Yellowtail and Avocado was also exceptional. The fish was so soft it was buttery and the rice was so yummy and it was truly the perfect bite. Combining my favorite fish and spread from separate cuisines as appetizers for my one meal was one of my dreams come true honestly. I also got the Manti Dumplings, which were nothing special. They were solid though, but I don't think I would reorder them as they were a tad bit dry for my liking. Lastly, the Chicken Souvlaki was also pretty yummy and this is definitely a safe option in my opinion. The chicken was tender and flavorful and this was a good main option. I really had a great time here overall and definitely would love to return in the future. I do want to try more things on the menu but also get my tried and true favorites. I would even come back here for the views alone. This has to be one of the best views in the area from a restaurant. I would highly recommend checking out this spot! read more

Went to Thea with a few girlfriends to celebrate my birthday on a Saturday night! It's located inside the beautiful Global Ambassador hotel. It was a busy night and the downstairs lobby bar was definitely happening as well. Beautiful people everywhere. I tend to like that. Lol. I'll have to show up for the bar sometime soon for s cocktail. They have valet parking and a garage close by for parking also if preferred. Had reservations for 7:30 and was seated promptly! I was absolutely shocked by that ,but delighted. I had no need to grab a pre dinner cocktail at the adjoining bar. Lol ..We started with the whipped Ricotta, comes with pita bread! It was very yummy. If you've enjoyed the goat cheese at George and Gather in Chandler,you would be a fan! I had the spicy margaritas! They were perfect and I was feeling fabulous after. Lol., I ordered the salmon with the grains, it was delicious and the sweet yams. They were the best yams I've ever had, considering I'm from the south a good cook and so is my mom, that's saying a lot! I tasted the sushi with mushrooms because one of the girls is vegan; I'd go back for that sushi roll anytime also. I love mushrooms , but would have never thought it could taste so good as sushi! Our server provided amazing service and was very pleasant. He brought me a cute little ice cream dish for my birthday, I shared it with the girls since It wouldn't be something I'd choose for desert while out unless it's accompanied another tasty desert! They should definitely upgrade the birthday desert experience. I'm just saying Buck n Rider gave me macarons. Lol.. I hate it was too dark to catch the view behind me. Have been wanting to try one of the restaurants in the Global Ambassador- this evening I got my first chance to dine at Théa! It's a beautiful restaurant on the roof of the hotel- with lovely mountain/city views! The vibe is very classy yet casual- attire from casual jeans to sequined dresses- it's vacation time and the tourists are loving the weather here!! Our server was Eric and he was an absolute pleasure to have guiding us through the menu and recommending courses to try!! Fantastic hospitality and the food was the perfect example of excellence- quality ingredients, fresh and beautifully presented!! We had delicious cocktails as well that complimented our choices! Overall, great experience. The ambiance is stunning and the food met my expectations. However, the service was subpar, as our waiter did not return to the table once it got busy. He walked by numerous times without closing us out. We had to get a manager and another server to assist. I can say our waiter was very detailed and offered great recommendations. It was the last day of my bachelorette trip and this was a great dinner to close out a great weekend with the girls! Our reservations were later in the evening, but I would 100% come back for the views during the day! We ordered the Goddess of All Dips and Zucchini Chips as appetizers. We're all still talking about how amazing the dips were! Portions of each dip were generous and the garlic pita paired so well. For my main dish, I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki Skewers. I loved the flavor, the meat was tender, and the portion was just enough for one person. I wish we had we had a Théa close to home but looking forward to coming back when I'm in the area! read more

We went on a rainy day, so unfortunately our outdoor table reservation got moved inside. But the staff did a wonderful job of seating us quickly and making it work with all of their reservations! But the food... I can't say enough good things! My friend from Florida came to visit, and she still brings up this dinner. The manti dumplings were my favorite. I've had homemade ones, and these were fantastic. Very traditional with so much flavor. It was the first time my friend had tried them and she couldn't believe how she's never had them before. Not a single bad bite of food, and the drinks were just as great. Service was superb and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a fancy, delicious dinner. read more
