    Khao Soi with Tofu! AMAZING!
    Roo F.

Probably should try more things here but I am stuck on their Khao Soi- I have had it like 4 times and every time it is so deeply comforting and delicious. Pickled mustard greens, fresh yummy veggies, crunchy noodles and unreal broth! When the craving comes I cannot resist. I have had the salad rolls they are good too, served with warm peanut plum sauce. The owner is wonderful, warm and kind and the restaurant itself is spacious with thoughtful decor, there is also plenty of outdoor seating and parking. They are happy to do any modifications on dishes for any preferences or sensitivities too. Can't wait to try more items and so happy to have such a sweet neighborhood spot! Thank you!

Stir fry vegetables with shrimp - delicious.

Food is good. Charged $3 for shrimp which is fine but no notice until bill received. Staff helpful. Ambiance AWFUL. Spotlights glaring. In scary part of town after dark. Do not expect to return. They do a great take out business apparently.

We've lived a few blocks from this place for a while and have seen it gone thru many incarnations so we were skeptical when it became a Thai place but I'm so glad we finally got over our skepticism and gave it a shot! The environment inside is cozy yet open with plenty of seating. They have a bar inside which is just delightful. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food came quick enough and was paced well with the drinks and appetizers. We had the egg rolls, the Khao Pad, and the Yellow Curry and were very happy with all of our dishes. It's a pretty standard Thai menu but the Khao Pad was a unique dish to me and I thoroughly loved it! It's a beautiful take on fried rice with big bits of freshly cooked veg. My partner really liked his Yellow Curry. The warm dish and the spice were perfect on a cold evening. Give this place a shot. The outside may not look like much, especially if you've seen it as the former businesses there but it's definitely our choice for Thai from now on!

The restaurant was able to modify the menu to suit my palate because I'm vegan. We had great customer service and the staff were really friendly.

first review! i will try to be as thorough as possible. this is a brand new thai restaurant located on powell, previous owner of khao soy thai in the pearl! the authentic flavors certainly transferred over to this location (as well as their signature khao soy dish) we ordered a feast for 5ish people, but i didnt quite get to snap a photo of it all.. please keep in mind that some of these dishes (like the skewers) were somewhat of a bulk order, so it doesn't accurately depict the amount you would get with just a single order. the place used to be a sports bar with pool tables, and they have done a lovely job with revamping the space! much of the decor as well as the wooden tables were made by the owners themselves. love the creativity, especially with their accent wall that features traditional thai plates which are very hard to find! while there are many thai restaurants in this area, i would highly recommend giving this place a try! some of the top highlights for our group were the pork skewers/moo ping (best eaten with sticky rice), pad grapao, and all of the noodle dishes! if you're someone who likes herbs and spice, the nam tok moo is a really great option as well (also goes good with sticky rice lol) price wise, very reasonable considering the generous portions. service, also delightful - no complaints.

Stopped here today for the first time. The food here is amazing and there is lots of it. I'm not a knowledgeable connoisseur of Thai foods, but I've had a lot of different Pad Thai dishes over the years. I have to say that this was one of the best I've ever had. Lyn had a plate of Pad Cashew Nut which she loved. We also had some appetizers: Pot stickers, coconut prawns, and cream cheese wontons which were all terrific. The food is first class, as is the presentation and the very friendly service. Prices are very reasonable. We will definitely be coming back here. Right now I cannot think of another Thai restaurant in the Portland area as good as this one.

Chicken pad see ew. Ended up just eating the broccoli.

Ordered Chicken pad see ew for lunch. No napkin or utensils. Did not taste like chicken pad see ew at all. No sweet/savory soy sauce taste like I expected. One of the worst Thai food I've ever had.

What a lovely spot ! Very cute decor, great for lunch or dinner. They have a full liquor and beer/wine selection. Very reasonable prices, and the food. The food is great. Fresh, crisp veggies. The server was very friendly, it felt like being in someone's home. That's why I say "lovely". Great vibe. Great food.

It also suffers slightly from that association, as one might consider it "hospital food", with all of its sordid associations. Thankfully, I can confirm there's nothing to worry about here. It's not "top shelf" sushi, by any means, but what they offer is still delicious, prepared competently and quickly, and priced affordably. My wife and I dined here after an entire half-day spent in a series of appointments and check-ups, and were famished by the time we wandered over to check this place out (we'd been meaning to ever since our last extended visit to OHSU). Among the multiple rolls in our order, the Miso Sexy and the Valentine rolls stood out among our favorites; they also make a decent miso soup here, too: not too watery, not too strong, but just right! As my wife is pregnant (again!), I know another visit to Momiji is on the horizon, as we will definitely be delivering at OHSU again. When that time comes, there's no doubt I'll be sneaking out of the delivery room, skipping the cafeteria, and making a bee-line straight for this place, likely smuggling a spicy tuna hand roll or two back with me (my wife's favorite).

I was looking for food nearby and came across this restaurant. The food was surprisingly delicious! We ordered the chicken katsu curry, kama-age udon (hokkai miso soup), and the kama-meshi seafood. The chicken katsu was cooked perfectly: crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside! The sauce also was the perfect texture and taste. My favorite was the kama-age udon with the hokkai miso soup. I love udon but sometimes don't like how thick it is because it fills you up faster and is harder to digest, the udon here is thinner which I fell in love with! It's soft and chewy and the perfect thickness: you dip it on the soup when you eat it. I also loved the soup, I usually have leftover soup when eat noodles, but I finished every last sip! Definitely recommend this dish if you were to only order one item! We also ordered the kama-meshi seafood. I thought this one tasted okay! The flavors of the seafood come through, but I personally like stronger and heavier flavors. It was worth a try! Parking: This restaurant is in downtown portland so it was difficult to find parking. We ended up parking at a nearby garage and paid for parking. They do have a few street parking spots near the restaurant if you want to test your luck! Seating and service: We were seated really quickly as we went on a weekday! They have several tables and a large table that can be reserved as well as bar spots. The restaurant overall looks really nice and is pretty spacious. The servers were really nice and fast to get you what you need! A side note: they have heated toilet seats in their restroom so that's always a plus!
