Since the pandemic and limited food options are available I've started ordering from this location again. I think they have one of the best Tom Yum Noodles soups I've ever had. My issue with this place is over the past 6-9 months when I order pineapple fried rice they actually forget to put the damned pineapple in! I mentioned this to the person who took my order and what really pissed me off is they didn't offer an apology. Why the hell should I support your business without common courtesy. Catching up with belated Yelp reviews and seems this could use a much needed update with a visit back on 4/11/18. I had family members visiting from Bremerton with me. I needed a reliable dinner spot close to a concert event we were going to attend at nearby Shorewood HS and Thai Bistro fit that criteria. As a group of four, nice to walk in without the need of reservations and was seated immediately. Handed menus and ice water shortly thereafter. We had a shared fried app with wontons, veggie egg rolls, and wings and a big bowl of Tom Kha soup with chicken to start. Main entrees were Beef Panang Curry with green/red peppers, Pad Thai with Tofu, and three orders of steamed white Jasmine rice. A variety of flavors, textures, and all brought swiftly and piping hot. Everyone was well fed and able to pay up in time to get to our next event. It's not my first choice for Thai cuisine and bummed that reviews have been uneven, but for the location, timeliness, and free parking fit my needs for that particular early evening. read more

TLDR: Check out all the exotic non-alcoholic drinks! Food is "ok". Echoey atmosphere and nicely decorated interior. Very cleanly place. Dining area has booths surrounding open tables. Dining chairs are made of wicker basket material--a booth may be more comfy. Kitchen located near the back so you hear a lot of kitchen sounds. Menu is very aesthetically pleasing but the food sadly doesn't taste as good as it looks. Dishes here are a bit more spendy than other Thai places. Expect to pay at least $10 per entree. Appetizers are $7-$15. The drink menu has a lot of things I'd like to try here on my future visits, particularly the Lychee Thai Iced Tea. Fresh Rolls: ice burg lettuce and clear bean thread noodles. A bit of a disappointment. Was expecting romaine and vermicelli. The vermicelli noodles were listed on the menu but the rolls came with clear noodles. Therefore, the roll is tasteless. The watery sauce only makes it slightly more palatable. Will not be getting this app again unfortunately. If you want quality and tasty fresh rolls, go to Chaiyo Thai. Thai Basil Fried Rice: meat is cut into large slices but is a bit chewy. The flavor is mediocre in my honest opinion. Tastes like a rush job: edible but not enjoyable. read more

Hands-down, the best Thai food in all of Seattle and Arizona! We've known Newy for many years. And the food is consistently fabulous. Newy takes great care of us...always glad to see us. We've tried many places in Seattle and Arizona and none can compare to Thai Bistro. I understand they bought the Thai Bistro in Mill Creek, too! We love the Crying tiger, 3 stars, pad Pad Ke Mao with chicken - 4 stars and the yellow curry with shrimp - 4 stars. The stars are the Thai seasoning! I have been to Thai Bistro many times throughout the years they have been in Shoreline. The menu has a good variety of food offerings and the portion size is great. Table servers are friendly, service is good, and the ambiance of the restaurant is pleasant. On average, I buy dinner from here two or three times a month. I had only one bad experience a few years ago. I ordered food with a higher spice level but actually had very little spiciness when it was brought to me. Fortunately it happened only that one time. Our go to Thai place in shoreline! Today I got the papaya salad and the Thai chili chicken. The papaya salad with shrimp was fresh, but had a lot of dressing that settles on the bottom of the bowl and can get overwhelming when you reach the last of the salad. The shrimp is cleaned with the tail still on. The chicken is never a disappointment and the reason we always order it. The see is always friendly and quick. Waiting for my mom at Toni and Guy was getting old and I was starving, so I walked over to Thai Bistro. Just finished my meal and here are my thoughts- The atmosphere is what I like in a Thai place (rich and over the top) and it looks like the other Thai bistros I've been to. The food was okay... my crab Rangoons (though they call them crab and cream cheese or something) came out lukewarm and after taking a bite, found they were frozen in the middle. It really grosses me out. Waiter brought new very hot ones and they tasted okay, but it kinda killed it. Phad Thai was pretty good. Fried tofu was mushy and it was slightly dry, but still good. The food took quite a while to come out which surprised me. There were only 3-4 other tables besides myself, so not sure why that was. I also saw the waiter try to give my food to a different table before bringing it to me... wow I wouldn't care to come back here at all. I prefer the one in mill creek by far. Described as grilled prawn skewers with steamed broccoli, carrots, green beans, zucchini. So I thought I was ordering a nice pile of veggies with prawn skewers. Instead, I got flavorless prawns, slight taste of bleach, bleh! and a couple little limp pieces of carrot and one broccoli florette--like a garnish or something! No green beans. No zucchini. I am going to share me and my husband's overall experience of Thai Bistro after being a regular customer the past year (2022). Including our FINAL experience (Summary at the bottom of the review). My husband and I order Thai Bistro at least once a month, we usually get a combination of Pad See Ew, Pad Kee Mao, and Pad Thai. We have also often recommended this place to our coworkers, friends, and family. The Food: Up until today, the food was delicious and consistent; we always ordered 2 star spicy with Tofu as we are vegetarian, swapping between a combination of Pad See Ew + Pad Thai and Pad Kee Mao + Pad Thai. We are very familiar with how it normally tastes and what ingredients it has. Up until today, we would have continued ordering from Thai Bistro indefinitely until a change of experience (which was unfortunately, today). The Experience: We always order take-out and had very little interaction with the staff and environment. Up until now, there was no reason to be concerned until there was a striking difference. Today we ordered the Pad Kee Mao and Pad Thai (2 star spicy). My husband picked it up and as we started having dinner I noticed that the tomatoes in the Pad Kee Mao had been replaced with red peppers. Not too big of a deal, people make mistakes, and thankfully I'm not allergic to peppers or have a food sensitivity. However after a few bites, I became disappointed with the overall flavor and lack of the usual ingredients. My husband offered some of his Pad Thai and he also commented the lack of spiciness that we were accustomed to. I expected the usual Pad Thai flavor, just less spicy, but I was met with an overwhelming taste of sweetness. The noodles were very sweet, a stark difference from the usual taste. We rarely eat out and each experience is special to us. My husband offered to take the food back and ask for a refund as we had barely started eating. We assumed there had been a change in chef or staff which is why the food was shockingly different from our usual experience. The Reason We Will Not Be Returning: My husband went back to Thai Bistro with the Pad Kee Mao (he decided to keep the Pad Thai as the sweetness did not bother him as much). He asked for a refund, and the lady at the front end began arguing with him. He pointed out that there were red peppers instead of tomatoes. The staff was incredibly rude, refused any fault, brought a physical menu that did say that the Pad Kee Mao had red peppers, and that Thai Bistro has ALWAYS made it with red peppers for as long as the business had been around. She also said that the online menu was the EXACT SAME as the physical menu. Now, both my husband and I know that is a lie as we had been going every month the past year. The front end lady (who I also found out was a manager much to my dismay) was incredibly rude, incoherent, and blatantly lied to my husband's face. My husband then showed her that on the website (posted with this review) Pad Kee Mao clearly states that it has tomatoes (and it has had tomatoes the past year from our personal experience). She then backtracked and began making excuses saying that they couldn't possibly list every single ingredient on the menu. I find this very concerning as people may have allergies or food sensitivities. She also daringly said that if we didn't want red peppers, we should have put it in the comments (which is ridiculous as the menu online does not say it includes red peppers, but regardless it said it would have tomatoes and there were no tomatoes). Begrudgingly she compromised to have the chef remake the dish, but refused a refund. I called the business and spoke to her as she was the manager on shift. I asked her if there had been any recent changes to staff such as the chef or management as our experience had differed from all our previous ones. She didn't seem to understand my question and kept redirecting that her boss was not in today, but needless to say, the rudeness she expressed to my husband and lying directly to his face is more than enough for us to never come back. Summary: Previously, we would recommend this place to our friends, coworkers, and family as the food was above your average Thai food restaurant. On a good day, the food will be above average. On a bad day, prepare to not receive a refund when things go wrong and be met with rude staff that will gaslight you and try to default any blame on their end (poor customer service). There are plenty of other local/chain Thai food places that have great service and also have great food. We will not be returning and we will be advising the people we know to do so as well. We did not pay $35+ for mediocre food and horrible service. read more

I have been eating here 2-3 times a year for the past few years. Had dinner there last night and it was as good as ever. I am puzzled by all the poor reviews, the food was excellent, the service was fast and competent. Other reviews complain a lot about the quality of the take out, and although I've never ordered takeout from this restaurant, I have gotten Thai takeout from various other decent Thai places and think it is always disappointing. Unfortunately this Thai Bistro has really gone downhill recently and I can no longer recommend it. Service used to be great, now it is underwhelming and verging on rude. My food was good (Most recently, I ordered the Hot Pot, gluten-free version) and the atmosphere is still pretty, though. I went there for lunch last week and felt confused and put off by their new menu. The layout of the menu is strange, and it's much more difficult to read through the meal items to choose a meal. After trying for a while to figure it out, I asked the waiter what he recommended and told him that I was gluten-free. He said dismissively, "I don't know what you like so I can't recommend anything. You have to read it [the menu]." Okkkaaayyy... thanks for nothing and you could've asked me what I liked?! Weird. The restaurant was 3/4 empty when I was there and it being lunch time it was several hours away from being closing time. However, the waitress came to our table 3 different times to ask me if I wanted a to-go box for the rest of my meal. I'm a slow eater and had wanted to savor my food but I got tired of telling her "no" so I finally just gave in and got a to-go box with literally half of my food in it, and left still hungry!! I have been to this Thai Bistro countless times over the past 9 years - in fact, this Thai Bistro is the very first business that I ever reviewed here on yelp, in 2010! It took a while for our drink order which came out wrong making the lady huff at us in exasperation. Food took really long. I ordered off the dinner menu - just the spicy chicken with green beans. My food came out way before my partners who ordered from the quick lunch menu. When his food came it was cold - we think it might've just been sitting out before being brought to him. Let me start off by saying this used to be my favorite Thai restaurant. I would go out of my way to come here whenever craving Thai food. But after my last visit, I will never come back. When I called to order takeout, the woman on the phone literally hung up on me right after I told her I wanted an order of pad kee mao. She asked how spicy I wanted, I told her none (I know, I'm lame) and she said ok and hung up. I had modifications I wanted to make and also wanted to order a Thai tea. I called back and told her we got disconnected and she said no I got your order. I told her I wanted to modify it so I gave her modifications and then she tried to hurry me off the phone again. I actually had to say "WAIT, IM NOT DONE ORDERING" just so I could finish my order. I've never been rushed so badly, even from a drive thru! Next, the food made me violently ill within an hour of eating. I see another yelper said the same thing, so it's safe to assume that something funky is going on. Takeout order? Be prepared to wait... and wait... and wait. Family in town tonight and I ordered dinner here for 6 through DoorDash. As usual, I got confirmation that they received the order and were working on it and was told to go pick it up an hour later. An hour later, I walked to the takeout counter to ask about my order and there was some odd fiddling around the computer in the kitchen. All they told me at the time is it wasn't ready yet, but I came to find out later that the woman in charge of confirming the orders forgot to enter mine into the system. Not great, but not the end of the world. You'd assume they would recognize the mistake and prioritize getting my order ready ASAP, right? Wrong. I asked about the status of my order after waiting there for 20 minutes and was told "it's going to be a while, we just got your order 20 minutes ago." So, after an hour of waiting and watching at least 15 orders go out that weren't mine (but included many of the same dishes), the guy running the takeout counter finally gave me my food. No apology, no attempt to speed up the order after they realized the mistake, no attempt to make it right (having worked at restaurants before, we usually gave a discount for your next meal if we screwed up your order). Only after I asked what happened did the guy tell me the lady forgot to put in the order. And that was it. The customer service I received tonight was horrendous. Enough to make a regular customer think twice before ever going back. read more
