You wouldn't think it to drive past it, but the Thai House is the best restaurant in town if you're interested in ethnic cuisine. There's not much else in that area, and the sign is small and modest. You could actually say the same about the interior, but the food is a different story. I had only eaten Thai food once before my first visit to the Thai House. I ordered the staple menu item, Pad Thai (w/ chicken). For weeks, I couldn't get the delicious taste out of my mouth, and kept trying to find friends that I could introduce to this family-owned restaurant (an excuse for me to eat it again). In the past couple years, I have made a concerted effort to eat pad thai wherever I go (New York, DC, Chicago), and nothing comes close. This might just be the best pad thai in the nation. I've tried a few other menu items as well, and everything is great here. The service can be a bit slow at times, but the fare is worth the wait. read more

Just picked up a to go order of suki nam and pho. Found a green beetle in the suki nam. Called the restaurant to ask for a refund and they refused to refund my credit card without physically bringing the bug in for them to see. Awful customer service on the phone and they ruined both me and my boyfriends dinner. We will never go back. read more

I'm from out of town, and my family and I came when it wasn't busy, but we waited about 30-40 minutes for our food to come out. I'm from the south and I absolutely love Thai food, but this food tastes very different from what we have down there. I'm not sure if it's because of regional differences, but I found the food too sweet. It either had too much sauce or not enough. And unless you order a vegetarian dish there are little to no vegetables! If This were my only experience with Thai food, I would tell you that I do not like Thai food. read more

Best place in town for Thai food! I have always gone here for the best Thai iced coffee and made fresh everyday hand folded crab Rangoon!! You can't go anywhere else after you've had theirs. I get the ground beef Larb which is a spicy chili lime dish. It's not on the menu currently but it's such a staple dish in their culture they always can make it and do! Don't let the location on a scary strech of Morrissey Avenue scare you...this place is top notch! The place may not be much to look at from the outside, but the food more than makes up for any lack of aesthetic appeal. My partner (who wouldn't even eat there because "it looked scary") and I love the Pad Thai, Beef Fried Rice, and Crab Rangoon. I would stay away from the pad thai ... it tasted kinda greasy, and made me not feel so right after eating. The service was a little slow, but I think it's because the place was packed, and there were only two poor girls working the entire joint. I remember coming here before, and I think I got Panang curry, or the equivalent of crazy noodles, and those were the much better options. read more

Big fan of Thai House! It's our go-to Thai place in town which means a lot because Na Na Thai is just around the corner from our home. I typically get the Pad Se Ew with Chicken, but I've tried a variety of dishes there and have never been disappointed. The portions are nicely sized and the service has always been great. I reluctantly tried Thai food recently and I find myself shamelessly addicted to the Pad Thai at this establishment. The crab Rangoon is quite good as well. AND whatever those little rolled up cookies are - I love them. You can purchase a package of them but I somehow restrained myself. I love the Tom Yum Pad Thai, which obviously is the Tom Yum sauce fused into pad Thai. My kids love the pineapple chicken fried rice, which they serve in a hallowed out pineapple! This place is great! From the little old lady who served us to the menu, this place screams both hospitality and authenticity. We ordered the Vegetable rolls, Pad See Ew and Pad Krao Prau. The food came quickly (quicker than we could finish the appetizers) and was served piping hot. It delivered in flavor, consistency and quantity. The Krao Prau was not as spicy as the menu made me think it would be, but it was still a great meal. We actually had quite a bit of leftovers at the end. For the amount of money spent, it was well worth it. My only complaint is the location. read more

Almost great! Service and ambiance were lovely, food was fresh and hot... but missed the mark. Som tum (green papaya salad) had no sign of fish sauce or lime, which left it sweet and hot, cloying and flat. Panang curry also was too sweet and flat, a little better than the salad but the liquid (supposedly coconut milk) was thin and watery. I was in the first wave of Saturday dinner guests (came in around 6pm) and they were already out of some desserts. Disappointing but I suppose it's the best one can hope for in the middle of the Midwest. Still way better than fast food. I hope they step up their game. Just because most of their guests wouldn't know authentic Thai if it bit them in the butt, doesn't mean they should slack on the basics. read more

My favorite spot in town. Love the eats in Bloomington, but have to say as far as authenticity goes this place nails it! Service could be better (a little slow, sometimes you have to get the attention of your waiters), food is impeccable.
