Came in with high hopes but the food was very underwhelming. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either. On my visit I tried the green curry and drunken noodles. I thought the drunken noodles were decent but the green curry wasn't that good. With curry, you expect a creamy and flavorful sauce, but this one was very watery and lacked flavor. This is one time that Yelp truly disappointed. There were so many good reviews that I decided to give it a try. I was really looking forward to good Roti and the Thai beef jerky. The roti was nothing special and the sauce was so oily that it made me feel sick. The beef jerky had decent flavor but the dipping sauce was just out of the bottle sauce and the portion was small for the price. One major turn off to me which felt like a bait and switch were their prices. They have printed menu's and their website with prices, so you place an order and then when you get there they have a sign taped to the counter that says all of the prices have been raised. That might be a great thing to point out when someone calls in an order. Especially when you have a website, which most people would hope to be up to date. Decided to give this place a second chance. I wish I hadn't. Pineapple Fried Rice , Drunken Noodles and Wonton Soup (no flavor whatsoever and couldn't even cut through wontons) were so, so boring. I tried this place to try something different and in pursuit of a new Thai place to call my own after moving to the area. The food was not bad but wasn't great either. I did enjoy the mango fried rice but my husband did not like the drunken noodles, he didn't even finish the dish. However, the were really nice on the phone and they left out extra utensils and napkins when I called after placing my order. Worth checking out if they do something that you like but I don't think I'll have them again. Definitely NOT a place to introduce Thai food to someone. read more

I have hope for this local spot. When I first gave it a chance it was amazing. Thai Fried Rice, curry puffs, and satays didn't miss. Over time, I found that the Pad Thai had become just okay and drunken noodles were decent. We just got back from a super dinner at Thai Jasmine in Bloomingdale, N.J. on Main Street. We started off with the chicken wings, they were deep fried and very good. They had a sweet sauce and spicy that you could sprinkle on. I had Pad Thai that was yummy. My husband had a rice noodle dish that he enjoyed and my son had the tamarin duck. The Thai iced tea was really good and comes with coconut nut milk or without. The decor is fun and the people serving us were very sweet. We will go back for sure. read more

What a great place! This small but wonderful Thai restaurant sits tucked in quietly, along the shops and businesses along the street. The decor can be a bit much, for those used to the more bland decor of typical restaurants in the area, but the decorations and ambience make Thai Jasmine all that more interesting. We found the service outstanding, very attentive but never intrusive. The food was all delicious. It was nicely prepared, and very pleasantly presented. It was creative, delicious, and never over spiced or overcooked. The one downside about this restaurant was the lack of adequate parking. The only available place it seems, was along the street or across the street in a in a private parking lot that clearly specifies parking for only those businesses. Would I go to Thai Jasmine again? Visited 3/17/2016 I love Tom Yum Goong soup, which is spelled differently in every Thai restaurant I visit. Since it was not on the menu, I asked the waiter if they could make it and he said, "no problem." It came out and it was very good... not great (See Yuzu Sushi & Hibachi) but good and since they made it up "special" for me... that's why they get the 5th star. Very friendly wait staff... and it's a BYOB which is always a plus. We shared the shrimp rolls and the Thai dumplings. I don't know why we ordered these dishes since we both try to stay away from fried foods. Oh yeah... they were very good. Maybe that's it. I had the #40 (Kee Mao or drunk(en?) noodles). Yum! One of my favorite Thai dishes. My wife had their #41 (Pad Thai Shrimp) which she too enjoyed very much. The decor was very "Thai"... made me feel like I was back in Thailand for a bit. I'm always surprised to find hidden gems in out of the way places. This restaurant essentially fits that description. Located in Bloomingdale, NJ--a quintessentially suburban town in the northern part of the Garden State--the restaurant is unassuming as it is charming. The decorations are lively and colorful and the service friendly and welcoming. The food in my opinion is as authentic to Thai flavor and spice as one can get provided you inform the server to cook it like they would in Thailand. I was afraid that they would Americanize the spice so I made sure to get the spice at the maximum level and I was absolutely rewarded. The meal started with a set of appetizers that paired perfectly well with the Riesling that I had bought at a nearby liquor store that was already cooled and further chilled by the restaurant. The chicken curry puff and Thai dumplings were the perfect dishes to whet the appetite. The restaurant obliged with my request and the two dishes were made quite authentically. The curry puff with its ground chicken, potatoes, onions and curry powder wrapped up in a cocoon of flaky pastry dough was fried perfectly that it didn't have the usual oily aftertaste. The dumplings, steamed and topped with crab meat, was served at the right temperature and texture. If these two offerings were any indication, I was sure to have a great meal before the end of the evening. I was right to expect that the rest of the evening meal would be delicious. For the entrée I ordered the Thai green curry with chicken as the protein. The delicious broth simmered as it was brought table side. The chicken swimming in the beautiful broth of green curry paste and coconut milk was cooked just right. The eggplant, bamboo shoots, bell peppers, string beans, and fresh basil leaves rounded out the dish providing the right amount of texture. Since I was feeling extra hungry that evening I also ordered chicken pad thai to pair with my curry. The pad thai was done well but I have to admit that it wasn't as memorable as the other dishes I had. I have certain expectations when it comes to pad thai and in this instance it wasn't as high as I would have liked it. That's not to say that it wasn't delicious. On the contrary the noodles were cooked al dente and the peas, carrots, and tomatoes were not mushy. There was however a pronounced level of oil in the dish that made it too heavy for my taste. But I reiterate that in no way did it detract from the experience. After filling up on the entrees, there was little I could do but leave without trying their dessert. It would have made the meal more complete. I am confident that based on the other dishes they served me, the dessert would have been just as authentic and more importantly scrumptious. read more

I am very upset with Thai Jasmine. I love this place, they make delicious food but once I went gluten and dairy free for health reasons they refused to accommodate me. Cross contamination is not an issue for me I just can't directly eat gluten/ dairy. They refused to make an dish without soy sauce. They told me it was impossible to take soy sauce out of any dish and told me I couldn't order anything. Very upsetting because my whole family loves to get food from this restaurant and now we will have to go elsewhere. read more

Recently returned to area and was happy to find this restaurant. Had a favorite Thai place where I lived but jasmine Thai surpassed their food. Ate in once and had takeout once. Both times were delicious although eating in is more hot and fresh. The beef pad Thai was delicious. The curries are very flavorful. I especially enjoyed the Panang curry. Crisp fresh vegetables and the broth was fantastic. I could have drank it from a glass. Just the right mix of spices and coconut milk. Loved it. They will be closed for a month and half due to a trip to Thailand but can't wait to return to try some new dishes when they return. Parking is tough but I have not gone during busy times so it hasn't been an issue. The staff is friendly and welcoming. read more

It's a mystery to me how this place could be rated so well. Don't come here for your own good! I had found 2 long black hairs in my Thai fried rice (I have purple hair...) and when I addressed this to the staff, they didn't even apologize and just took the plate back and were quiet. Then they came back and asked me if I wanted a new plate that didn't have hair on it. I'm disgusted that they even had to ask that. They would not take it off the bill! The second plate of rice they brought me was obviously carelessly prepared and not good, it was wet and mushy. No one even checked on our table to ask how anything was. No one smiled at all. I was so excited when I found this place because I typically have to drive to Ridgewood to get good Thai. I came here on a Wednesday night and the place was almost completely empty, but I don't know why because the food was great. They also had Chopped playing on the TV on the far wall. And it's never a bad time to watch Chopped. We were served by a male waiter whose name I can't remember, but he was SO nice and personable. Over our spring roll appetizer (the plum dipping sauce = amazing) he overheard me speaking about the spiciness of the food, and when he came to take our meal order, offered to make the food less spicy if I wanted. I told him it was the opposite- that I loved extra spice- and he not only brought out a tray of extra spicy dipping sauces (one of them was a spicy-sweet chili-esque sauce that was delicious) but also asked if I wanted my entree spicier as well. I thought that was nice! They have an option to make dishes hot, hotter, or extra hot. I got the Kee Mao, hotter with chicken (drunken noodles) and loved the dish. My date got the Pad Thai and he enjoyed his as well. I definitely recommend this place. P.S. They also deliver! We saw a few people coming in and out to pick up orders so it seems to be a more popular take-out than dine-in place. read more

The soup is not like I am normally used to, very good ! The puffs could be on the desert menu. Dumpling were light and I wish there were more. My favourite was the shrimp. Disappointed! I ordered Pad Prik with shrimp from the menu item #70, and this is what I got. The menu says it includes onions, scallions, which I did not find. The menu specifically says $12.95 with $2.00 extra charge for shrimp, the guy who took my order said they only have jumbo shrimp so extra charge for shrimp will be $4.00, which was fine with me, but after paying $16.95 for this dish what I got was shrimp and bell peppers.. I came here tonight with my girlfriend and friend. We had a very pleasant evening and would come again. Atmosphere: the restaurant was decorated nicely and had soothing light music in the background. The restaurant was fairly quiet, only 3 other tables occupied which I appreciated after a rough day at work. There is a big tv on the back wall with no sound. The temperature was cool, a light sweater for those skinny folk who get cold ;-p. Overall the restaurant appeared clean and sanitary. Don't forget to ask for chopsticks if you are a fan of them! Appetizers: Vegetable spring rolls - we ordered 2 orders of these. Very tasty and the honey sauce they have on the side was very light (I'm used to a thicker honey sauce) but it was still good. Curry puffs - could use a little more seasoning, a little on the sweet side. Chicken & shrimp dumplings - very good. Only 4 pieces, but the taste was on par with expectations. Entrees: Chicken kee Mao - also known as drunken noodles. Delicious, balanced flavor. I would have liked to see a few more noodles. Lots of veggies and a good amount of chicken. Basil fried rice - ordered with tofu instead of meat. Tofu was dry and overall a little sweeter than usual. Moo Siam - excellent & fresh, medium spice level. Dessert: Fried taro w/ vanilla icecream - the taro balls are amazing. Crunchy and flavorful. The ice cream was a little hard and possibly freezer burnt. In lieu of the few adjustments, they are from personal taste, we were all satisfied with our food and the service was exceptional! My boyfriend has been dying for some Thai food, and we heard this place was pretty good, so we went in to check it out. First off, we had read on Yelp that there was no air conditioning, and it was very humid the day we decided to go. So we said that if we walked in and it felt at all uncomfortable, we would leave. No such thing. We were comfortable the entire time. The service and food was delicious! We had spring rolls as an appetizer, my boyfriend had Pad Thai, and I got the sweet and sour chicken and shrimp. It was very good! We both really enjoyed the food and had a lovely time. I will say, the decor was cute, but they could work on ambience. The World Cup matches were on in the background (of course), but I think it could have been a little nicer with some light music.
