Our friends from New Orleans took us to this place on the last night of our visit. The entire week we had been eating Cajun food so we wanted to try different cuisine. I am glad we tried this place. We absolutely crushed it. For 5 of us, we initially thought we ordered a lot. But all these delicious food did not last. For apps, we ordered steamed dumplings and hot and sour soup. Absolutely delicious! For entrees we ordered a ton - cashew shrimp, massamam curry, spicy pork fried rice, chicken fried rice and chicken noodles. Except for the noodles, everything was very good. Well! I have found my new Thai cuisine fav in New Orleans. Firstly, the ambiance is very relaxed and can be casual or you can dress up if you want for dinner. The place will accommodate both. Now for the food, I ordered the egg rolls and the Tom Ka (small) for starters. Stop! I was already full with just these two items. But wait..... there's more..... I visited here for the first time yesterday evening. It wasn't easy finding street parking especially in the dark but I did luck up and find a spot close by. I love Thai food and I enjoyed this place. The staff were friendly and helpful. The vibe was very causal. It wasn't a large place. I ordered the Tom yum shrimp soup and it was delicious. I tried Thai Mint because I wanted something that was not fast food and not too expensive. I walked in about 30 minutes before they closed for lunch. There is bar seating and there are many tables. I ordered the beef red curry. Before my entree came out, I was given a bowl of soup and a spring roll. The hot and sour soup was a 10/10! I went to Thai Mint for lunch with two of mentees. There was only one other table occupied, but the staff was cranking out to go orders, so I took that as a sign of quality food. Being that were were one of two tables, the service was fast and attentive. Our server offered to accommodate me when I said to make my curry "as spicy as they could." He checked in and offered to have it remade it if wasn't to my liking. I enjoyed it, but there could have been just a bit more chicken.My mentees enjoyed their fried rice even though the shrimp was imported. We ordered the lunch specials which came with soup and a spring roll. The price point was great for the amount of food we received. I paid under 50.00 for the three us. My mentees ordered sprite and it came in 20 oz bottles. They were glad to be able to take the drinks home, but I was concerned about plastic waste. The food at this place is decent. I usually frequent this place on my lunch breaks and usually tip extra on top of automatic gratuity(15$-25$) each time. However i will not be coming back again the waiter, whose family owns the place, told me they will be refusing my military discount because the last time i came i did not tip.(and also have the right to refuse service) My military discount should not be voided because i didn't tip one time. That's very rude and judgmental not knowing how much money i have and still expecting a tip every single time! And some of my co-workers said they will no longer come either. How have I never been here before? I had lunch at Thai Mint today and here's how it went.: I was greeted immediately and shown to my table. The menu I was given was chock full of very reasonably priced lunch dishes complete with all of the Thai favorites you'd hope to find. I went with the chicken pad Thai lunch portion and it was fantastic! I had no idea that my lunch would come with a fried spring roll and soup. Both were delicious. All of that for 8.95! Such a neighborhood gem. Fresh delicious Thai food with reasonable prices! I mean, their lunch specials are 10-13 dollars and come with cup rich hot soup and egg roll. Deal. So many options and they let you make adjustments- I like my PadKeeMao no bell pepper, extra broccoli, and they make it perfectly every time. I also really like their wonton soup- clear flavorful broth with bok Choi and plump shrimp dumplings. In my experience, it's the perfect food for recovering from illness- be it infectious or hangover:) The service is attentive and unfailingly kind. This has been the best pad Thai I've had in New Orleans & dare I say ever in my life? Its so flavorful and they give you so much chicken in comparison to other places I've had before. Such a great Thai spot! Found this on Instagram through a food account I follow and knew I had to try it. We placed a take out order for Chicken Pad Thai. It was ready in 15 minutes just as promised and the take out process was seamless! Like Thai places usually go, you get a ton of food with each order. Covid-19 Report: Thai Mint saved the day when I NEEDED some Thai take-out for my spouse's quarantined socially distanced birthday celebration. We ordered a variety of dishes, each with it's own delicious characteristics, all of which we ATE RIGHT UP! (Except for the fact that we over ordered and had left overs for a few more meals.) We ordered the classic Pad Thai w/chicken (yummy), Drunken Noodles w/shrimp (spicy-licious), Cashew Chicken (perfect) and Glass noodle salad (even better the next day!). Look. I spent 2 weeks traveling Thailand and this is the best Thai restaurant in the city. I live Thai food so I would have lunch in my downtown office at a few thai places. They just don't match up. My entree was served with white rice and had excellent basil flavor; the shrimp and veggies were cooked well (though the onion may have been on the underdone side) though I learned I should have asked for "Thai hot." I did not enjoy this Thai Food as much. I ordered the Yellow Curry with Chicken. Could have been better. Tasted a bit weird, and very very bland. My Boyfriend got this beef dish, I'm not quite sure what it was but after trying a bite of it, I'm not quite sure I enjoyed it too much either.
