Delicious! Love that you can choose your spice level on every dish! we had Chicken Pad Thai and Pot Stickers, we will order again!!

I originally reviewed this place and gave 5 stars for the best Thai around. We have eaten from here many times, probably a dozen and always excellent, fresh and good portions. I'm sad to say, we recently ordered and both of us were disappointed in our meals. I ordered a meal I've had before and when I opened it, thought it looked different and took a few bites realizing it was nothing like what I ordered and thought we got the wrong order. I called and was told it was the old menu and this is what I ordered but, They make it different. My husband always gets the same thing and he found it not good and completely different flavors than what is their norm. Well, anyhow I asked if they changed cooks or something and they said they had just bought the place from the original owners. Okay, well same name, not the same food at all. I'm sad the original owners sold, it really was the best! Definitely not the same now. It's not amazing like it used to be. So, back to trying to find good Thai food again. read more

Ordered delivery from this new Thai restaurant via Grubhub. Since my favorite Thai restaurant in the area closed down I've been searching for a new favorite and thankfully this place opened up! I have a particular preference for Pad Thai, and theirs is tangy, sweet and delicious. We also ordered the Pad See Ew which was good but a bit dry. The crab Rangoon had too much cream cheese not enough other flavors or crab, but the wonton soup was good. Our food was made quickly and delivered with food still hot. read more

Thai Pot opened on August 1st; we have ordered three times since they opened. The first time we ordered a Pad Thai. I have not found a Pad Thai I liked, until this one. It was so good, I have been thinking about it pretty much every day since then. The second time we ordered, we ordered a lot of things to try; fried tofu, egg rolls, crab Rangoon, chicken satay, Spicy Basil Leaves, Panang Noodle, Thai Fried Rice and Pineapple Fried Rice. Every single thing we ate was fantastic. We have been telling everyone about Thai Pot so yesterday, when my daughter came to visit, we had to order it again. We had the crab Rangoon, pot stickers, egg rolls, Pineapple Fried Rice, Thai Fried Rice, Pad Thai, Pad Khee Mao, Green Curry and Massamun Curry. Once again, everything was outstanding. I mean, just superb. Service is wonderful. The owners and their daughter are so amazingly sweet. Cute little place that smells awesome when you open the door. 02/11/2025 Update: We ordered again from Thai Pot last night. YA'LL - they listened to the feedback and it was one of the single best massaman curry experiences we have ever had. It was INCREDIBLE. The potato slices were huge, so much fresh chicken and peanuts, so delicious and perfect. WOW. Legit blown away! We did a spice level 3 and it was SPICY (lol). They don't joke around here - this is legit Thai levels of spicy. If you are sensitive to spice, but want some, do like a 1 or a 2 if you're brave. Level 3 was HOT - delicious, but hot. We had the Thai fried rice for the first time (with shrimp). The shrimp were SO GOOD and HUGE - worth the money. The rice itself was absolutely fantastic. Did a level 1 spice and it was perfect. Lastly, we ordered the sweet sticky rice as a side instead of the mango version. Not to get cheesy, but the rice brought back this memory from when I was a kid. My Mom used to make cream of wheat but not like the loose kind. It had a ton of sugar and butter (lol healthy I know) and was very firm. Almost like a rice consistency. This was, legit, almost identical to it. My Mom is 80 years old, and I actually sent her an iMessage telling her about it and it brought back this incredible childhood memory. Was a true experience! At the end of the day, Thai Pot has become one of our absolute go to places in Algonquin. You will not be disappointed - truly! Originally, we saw this place a few times driving down Algonquin road and finally called them to ask if they were open. The person who answered was a tad short with us (I imagine dinner rush, haha), but they said yes they were open. We waited a week and gave them a shot. Here is our review: - Thai iced tea with boba: One of the best I've had (outside of our favorite at Alt Thai in Arlington Heights) - was really, really good - hands down, the best in the area without question. - Massaman chicken curry: The first time we had this, it was absolute fire! The second time, it seemed like the chicken may have been already cooked or a tad old because it had that 'day old made' chicken flavor to it. That said, the rest of it was great. They skimped a bit on the peanuts and potatoes, tho. It was close to the end of the night when we ordered so I don't want to really hold that against them. - Crab rangoon: We enjoyed this! Was pretty good! - Chicken satay: Really great! Loved the peanut sauce! - Panang curry: Was for someone else in the house - they said it was good - not what they expected, but good. They tried the massaman curry and said they preferred that one. - Mango with sweet sticky rice: SO. GOOD. If I had one complaint, it would be that they need to put TWICE the amount of sauce on it (lol). The sauce is where it's at! I do wish they had the banana soup dessert in stock as twice I have wanted to try it, twice they didn't have the ingredients to make it. We've gotten takeout from Thai Pot twice now. Our previous favorite Thai place is closed on Mondays, so we thought we'd give this place a try. I'm so glad we did!! The chicken Pad Thai is absolutely delicious! The chicken is very tender. It's tangy and very flavorful and it's a very generous portion. I'm very impressed with the crab Rangoon! It was still crispy after a 15 minute drive home and the filling is creamy and delicious. I love crab Rangoon but our old favorite place changed theirs and it was thick and tough. Thai Pot does it right!! I highly recommend this place and I'm so excited to have discovered it!! read more

Nope. Ordered for the second time from here and specifically noted not spice. They did level 1 and it is over the top spicy. Uber eats said to call the restaurant directly. Gal who answered said if I want to bring it all back and reorder that is the only thing they'll do. NO! get it right the first time. I told her I won't order from here again and she said ok. Well. There you have it. Follow up to business response: the girls attitude on the phone was so off putting. Why would I travel all the way into another town to exchange the food when it's far away and I ordered the food for delivery to begin with? There was no offer of any other way to make me whole. Finally some good Thai cooking in my neighborhood Soups are phenomenal (all tho portions are not huge ..even large sized soups are in medium sized containers ...and I'm comparing it to other takeout places) Same with dishes (usually I end up with some leftovers ) ..not the case with Thai Pot Flavor is great, prices similar to other restaurants...portions on the smaller side..that's why I deducted one star read more

When I first discovered this place quite a while ago, we ordered and really liked everything we got since then I have referred a bunch of people to this place that also didn't know about it. Really like all the food we've gotten from there and every now and then I just run in at the last minute and just wait for my food and it is served hot and I'm only a mile away so when I get home, it is still hot . Placed an order through DoorDash - understand it's a 3rd party provider - but the attitude of the person that answered the phone was unfriendly. Didn't bother to offer a resolution and basically came across as your S.O.L. Weather wasn't anticipated and it wasn't your fault, as it wasn't ours. My opinion should have been to be proactive at least for the customer sake. read more

New favorite Thai restaurant! We ordered Tom yum soup - chicken (3/5 spice), pad see ew - chicken (4/5 spice), beef salad (4/5 spice), green curry - chicken (4/5 spice), and crab rangoon. I love that there is an option for spice level on almost everything. I def will be getting a 3/5 spice on the curry next time, as the spice was no joke (but loved it). Amazing flavors overall. The beef in the salad was so crispy. Crab Rangoon didn't taste like straight up cream cheese and the sauce was great. read more

We finally ordered from Thai Pot for the first time tonight after hearing rave reviews from a few people that tried it. That praise was well-founded. The food is absolutely delicious! The sole critical note I have to mention is that it appears that when you order food, you have to select a spice level, and even the lowest level is a little spicy. For me, not a problem whatsoever, but for my wife, even that was a bit too much for her. I ordered the ground beef basil stir fry - SO good! We will definitely return, but we'll have to figure out the spice options so my wife can eat it. read more

Tried Thai Pot in Algonquin tonight. A family owned super cute takeaway place. We had the beef pad thai, chicken green curry and pineapple pork fried rice. Everything was clearly fresh and so tasty. I called ahead and showed up a little early. The food was being made still and she asked if I could wait a few more minutes. No problem, she's answering the phone, cooking and when I walked in she was clearly making dumplings; which I can't wait to try. We got 3 dishes that could easily feed a family of four. It's just the two of us and I wanted some lunches. I really recommend giving them a try. read more
