We discovered this place almost 10 years ago when we moved into this area and, it was great back then. After a few year break we went back with 7 friends tonight. Once again it did not disappoint :-)) All of our friends also loved their meals. They serve classic thai dishes with good quality ingredients and, have a selection of dishes with organic meats as well. The menu is extensive and there are daily specials. My favourites here are the Massaman with organic lamb, Chilli basil prawns, fish or chicken salad and green curry to name a few. Service here is super friendly and, they have a small but well priced wine menu. You can BYO of course and corkage is $4 pp. Most of their wine is under $40 per bottle including some organic wines and so, probably not worth doing the BYO. This place is not cheap and is a bit upmarket. I don't mind paying for good food and service. It's often very busy in here and they do offer takeaway food. Starting with the service, it seems like the restaurant had been sold to another owner who changed all the staff. They had no idea what they were doing and had to keep referring my questions to their head (I'm guessing boss/manager). When we asked the waitress if a particular dish was any good, she referred that question to her boss before saying 'I don't know!'. Waiters should always know what their dishes taste like!! Secondly, the waitress wanted ME to open the bottle of red wine I ordered because she was scared the cork would pop open in her face. Yikes. The food was average. I've had much better thai elsewhere. The Deep Fried Fish with Mango Salad (~$29) was more like deep fried fish fingers. The menu had a picture of the whole fish presented on the plate but I ended up getting bits of fish deep fried. Not impressed unfortunately. Their paw paw salad was large in portion but lacked good flavour. Most disappointing dish would have to be the deep fried ice cream ($10.90). It was definitely deep fried, maybe 2 hours ago? The outside layer was cold and oily. I had basically paid for vanilla ice cream. Not a happy customer as you could understand. However, if you do end up eating here, you must have the Ox Tongue ($10.50). They grilled that to perfection. Delicious. All on a Thursday night! When you at the restaurant on a quite night the service of food is about average waiting times, but if you go on a weekend you do wait a little while more and it's recommended that you do call ahead and book a table to avoid disappointment, because honestly it's one of the most busiest restaurants in canley vale from Friday to Sunday. As for the food, one of my personal fav is the crying tiger it's a just try, it's beef strips marinated In a zesty chilli sauce, but it's not that spicy it's just nice. And the pad thai and thai curries are authentic and pretty damn nice! Only problem is trying to find a park on the weekend, sometimes you have to park a few streets away. Parking can be a pest. You are lucky if you can score a park in the street but there is a parking area very close. It often looks full but somehow you can score a park. Eating there is very pleasant as there are windows that are open along the side of the restaurant where the tables are lined up.

They have a pretty big thai menu considering the small size of the establishment. I spoke to the own and they're all pretty young Thais. Good job, the food is good. Btw i had the Laksa noodles. I love not having to be squished up in a corner where you can hear everyone's conversation from other tables or the shouting from the kitchens. The other good thing is I've never been in when the restaurant has been at full capacity, and so have never had to wait for food when the kitchen is under pressure. They offer take-away and have a full bar when you first walk in. Food is pretty good quality and I haven't had anything horrible from there in many years but on the other hand, there are no notable dishes from memory.
