Haven't been here for months till today. I was gonna go to Thai terrace but they were closed for in between hours. I didn't feel like waiting so decided to go with Thai select instead. I placed a to go order for tom yum and requested sub for tofu instead of shrimp (restaurant wasn't busy at this time and I verified my order on phone). Came by and picked up and paid for the tom yum. So this restaurant has been our go to place for Thai food since we moved to Southwest Fort Worth in 2010. However I must say that on this occasion I've had better versions of two of the three dishes that we bought on this visit. We have vegan since July 2019 and I strongly advise that you consider this lifestyle for your health and other ethical and environmental reasons. 1) Drunken noodles with vegetables. I think Thai Select prepares this dish as well as any we've eaten. 2)Veg Duck Kra Prow- I've had this dish prepared significantly better at another west Fort Worth Thai restaurant. 3) Massaman Curry- I love this dish either with vegetables only or with tofu. I've had a better version of this dish at a restaurant in Carrollton, Texas. I must say that the last time that I picked- up food at Thai Select that my egg-less rice dish actually had egg in it- very disappointing. Soon afterwards and for a few hours I felt the old, painful sensations of arthritis, gout, and shooting pains. I will never go back to meat and dairy again. My family frequents this restaurant on a weekly basis. I am also a huge fan of Thai Selects more casual sister restaurant, Thai Rice & Noodle on the west side of town. My favorite dish is the Pineapple Curry, followed by the classic Pad Thai Chicken. Sometimes the food comes out spicier than I order, but I've never had a less-than-wonderful meal at Thai Select. Their take-out service is always great, too. I've never had an order that was not completely accurate. Parking is easy. Seating can sometimes be limited, but I've never waited for more than 5 minutes for a table. read more

This place was recommended to me and I'm glad it was. Friendly service, good prices and delicious food are all perfect ways to describe Thai Select. It was the first time i've been here and I have to admit I was skeptical. It's rare to find a restaurant this good in a strip mall, but i'm pleased I was wrong. The waitstaff was friendly and perfectly happy to break down the menu in terms of spice level. I ended up eating something called 'Drunken Noodles' which was a little heavy on the basil but still very tasty. With two entrees and an appetizer I think that the bill came out to a little over $30. I want to go back and try this place again. Not just because it deserves a second trip but because their menu was huge, and all of it was different Thai foods. We have been twice since moving here 2 months ago- it has been consistently good both times! We have had the pad thai, drunken noodles, and coconut curry soup. The menu indicates a spicyness level of 1-5, but the first time we were there we were informed you can order any number you want so we ordered somewhere between 5 and 10. The second time our choices were only spicyness 1-5. I ordered a 3, it was equally as spicy as the last time when i ordered a 7 or something...? There is so much good Thai in Fort Worth that I would not waste time or money here. It's probably the most expensive Thai restaurant in Fort Worth besides their own second location Spice (on magnolia). The Thai is not very authentic and never sits well with me, telling me they put a lot of sugar and use unhealthy, fake sauces. Went here today and was not disappointed! Had an absolutely delicious meal! The pad Thai was pure perfection! The spring rolls were amazing! The peanut sauce that goes with the spring rolls is so delightfully good, you will want to have more than just one! I would suggest leaving room for dessert- they have a homemade coconut ice cream that is heavenly. Not to mention their sticky rice dessert with mangos! If you have never tried Thai tea, do so!!!! It is so refreshing!!! I have never left such a place so satisfied with the food selection, price, and the staff! They were all so nice and helpful! Best thai place in Fort Worth! I mostly get the pad kraw prow but have also tried the orange chicken, massaman curry and the garlic chicken. I love the flavors I'm their food and they BY FAR have the best brown rice I've had. The rice is always cooked to perfection. You can also select spicy level from 1 to 5. I recently moved to oak lawn and so far the thai places can't live up to thai select. I gave it four stars because the servers aren't friendly or all that good, but the food is WORTH it! You will get your food fast and take out was a good experience for me every time ad well. read more

You're in for a treat - the food is really good. We like to start with the Thai Select Sampler, share an entree and save room for the Sweet Mango with Sticky Rice. The only problem with this strategy is that we have to make the tough choice between noodles or curry for our main dish. The dining room can feel a bit crowded (especially when you've got an infant sleeping in a carseat in your party), but that isn't a big deal when weighted against the quality of the meal. My husband and I were craving Thai but we're really picky on where we go and this was the closest one to us so we decided to give it a shot. We ordered the gyoza (pot stickers) which were really good. My husband ordered the pad Thai with chicken and he got 1 star spicy level and he said it was ok. He said he would try the Thai fried rice with pineapples next time. I ordered the Thai fried rice with chicken with a level 2 spicy and it was pretty spicy for a level 2 which is why at a new place I always get 2 because everyone's levels are so different. Mine was really good! The only negative I could say was there were too many tomatoes and scallions. I love mostly rice but other than that it was delicious! If we're ever back in this area again and we want Thai I'm certain we will revisit this restaurant. read more

Food is good, but not as good as rice and noodle (the original). The 3-star instead of a 4ish is because the waiters look like they've never waited a table in their life. Service is slow and they don't know when to come and give you the check. First the food was amazing! I had the Three Mushrooms with beef and my friend had curry. One of the best meals I have had in a while, and reasonably priced. That being said, the service was horrid! We were there at lunch, and they were steady, not overly busy. Got our drinks, and food order. Food was delivered promptly, but she never came back to check. My friend was missing part of her meal, and I had asked for spices. I had to get up to approach the counter. Then it took her 6-7 more minutes to get that corrected. Drinks empty, took another 3-4 for that. Wanted dessert, but she never came back, except to drop the check. I have not been to a place that small with absolutely no service. It seemed like it was just our waitress as well, we tried several times to get her attention. The table next to us saw us trying to get her attention and tried to help. We were there right at an hour for lunch. My friend was late for work due to lack of service. I don't think we will be back. read more

I'm sorry to have to write this, but this place is starting to go downhill -- we were here yesterday during lunch and service was not good. Very slow and unattentive. It took 45 minutes just to get our food, which we ordered off of the lunch menu. Another couple who sat 2 tables away received their drink order, but waited another 15 minutes for a server to take their food order. When none arrived, they got up and left. When our food finally arrived, it was uninspiring. We ordered the Pad Key Mao with chicken and orange chicken. The chicken was overcooked and dry on both dishes. The noodles in the Pad Key Mao were also overcooked. I want to say that this was just an anomoly, but we experienced pretty much the same thing when we had dinner here three days ago. It will be awhile before we come back. To the owners : This place shined when it first opened, and can shine again. Hold your servers, cooks and managers to a higher standard and you'll shine again. I come here for boba all the time and I get the thai boba tea blended and its the best boba I've ever had. Yall I drink so much boba but I always find myself missing this boba. Once you have it, nothing else is the same. It's not too sweet and its not a watery/milky mess like some other places you go to. It doesnt taste like gross packaged flavoring either, I mean I'm sure it is but whatever they do to it they do it good. Besides the boba, their fried rice is really good and you get a huge amount for what youre paying for too. The yellow and red curry are also amazing. I had been meaning to try this place for a long time, but finally did about 6-7 months ago and I now eat here 4 or 5 times during the work week and at least once on the weekends. The food is outstanding and consistent, especially the Drunken Noodles, Garlic Chicken, and Hot Pepper Chicken, and the iced tea always tastes fresh. Only nit pick with the lunch special is that I would rather have soup available than the small salad, but I've gotten so used to the salad (with the yummy lemon dressing), that it is becoming less of a nit every day. Tasty Thai food! Met a friend for lunch at this cute cafe located in a shopping center strip. The restaurant was super clean and the hostess sat us at a table immediately. I ordered the Yellow Curry with chicken. I checked out the rest rooms and wash my hands. They had 2 restrooms, one designated for women and one for men. The rest room was super clean and had plenty of paper products. When I go back to the table the wait staff had delivered a salad with peanut dressing. Salad was fresh and the veggies were crisp.
