Slllooooowww and awkward service. I ordered appetizers for my entree and asked 3 times to be sure they were brought out when my friends meal was. Nope.... Got them early and sat there with them getting cold while we waited for her salad. The edamame were cooked to mush. Did not finish. The gyoza were very good as was the Thai coffee (this is why they got 2 stars). The Thai beef salad had OK flavor, but the beef was the consistency of leather. Would not eat here again. read more

We had the massaman curry and pad kee mao. I had been here once before, and liked it enough to come back, but service the second time was pretty frustrating. The two dishes came out at least 20 minutes apart, with only one acknowledgement from the waiter to say "it'll be out shortly" (it wasn't). They offered a 20% discount on (only) the late entree, which is better than nothing, but it didn't really make up for the staggered meals. I don't think I'll be back a third time. read more

Mekong plaza restaurants never miss! Everywhere I've tried has been good in this area. I've only had khao soi from like 2 other restaurants before, but really enjoy it so I was glad to see that was an option here. I got that with tofu and a side of steamed vegetables. My food was ready on time and fresh! I got a medium spice level and somehow it really wasn't spicy at all? I usually can't handle anything above medium but I guess I could here haha. Very mediocre food. I ordered a basil fried rice and my friend ordered the basil chicken with rice. My fried rice was more like a pile of rice with the sauces from the basil chicken dish poured over. Stopped by for a small dinner and this place hit the the spot! We were quickly greeted and seated by the two friendly employees. Our cups were filled with water and we decided to try out their mango cocktail and their Thai tea. The Thai tea was delicious!! We ordered the beef soup and my friend had the pad Thai. Our beef soup was very good! It came out nice and hot! The portion was pretty big and can definitely be shared. They added what looked like pork grinds on top, which gave it another flavor. My friend said the pad thai was ok but dwindling too mushy and it needs some flavor. Totally recommend the Thai tea and the beef soup though! read more

Go big, go for the hot pot because the cup will leave you wanting more. Rich and creamy, balanced seasoning - it's perfection! We are in Phoenix for a Mayo visit and had a craving for Thai. This, for me, is hands down some of the best thai I've had in a while! They were incredibly clean, constantly wiping down tables, the registers, the serving area. Super efficient, the two front of house staff seated us quickly and were busy serving all the customers promptly. The menu was extensive! We had the fried calamari appetizer which was incredible. The batter was very crisp, the meat inside was thick and chewy and the dipping sauce on the side had a hint of spice that was fantastic. This was the best calamari I've ever had, honestly. My husband ordered the dinner portion of beef pad thai - other than it not being quite up to his level 5 spiciness request, he was a happy man. The pad thai came with a side of a small veggie spring roll which was hot and delicious. Definitely would return. read more

This is one of my favorite Thai spots. Their food is delicious and looks just as appetizing as it tastes. I always go for a curry - I love the massaman or green curry. it comes with a good portion of steamed white rice. The Pad Thai isn't super sour like other places I visit. It has a really good balance in flavor. Their portions are huge so I always have a second meal or my husband doesn't have to order a bunch of appetizers to get full. A Thai tea or one of their specialty drinks is a good way to wash it all down. The service is good as well. They are attentive and prompt. Food always comes out hot even on to go orders your food is hot! Every time I've come here it's clean and tidy. It's inside the Me Kong plaza with booth seating along the wall and chairs opposite. The seating is comfy and not run down. Overall I'll visit again and again to try other dishes. read more

Randomly found this place and glad we did! We ordered take out but next time, I'd like to go dine in. The take out was ready SO fast. It was also extremely reasonably priced. We ordered a few different types of pad Thai. The spice level was perfect. Sometimes I'm not sure if I should order medium or hot , because it's often too mild. But this medium was spicy and I was pleased! We made one of the Pad Thai's hot and the girl who ordered it, enjoyed it. Too spicy for me haha. The other entree we tried was the lemongrass chicken. It was amazing! The flavor was very distinct but not over powering. I never would have thought to try it but I'm glad she did! We also ordered the Buddha Gyoza, veggie spring rolls, and crab wontons. We loved the veggie spring rolls and the crab wontons. Unfortunately the Buddha gyoza had meat in it - we have a vegetarian in the group and we specifically ordered these because it said there was no meat in them on the menu. Giving them a 5 because they simply don't deserve a 4.1 - I'm not from here, I'm from NYC visiting family and was craving Thai food. I was on the fence when seeing the rating but it was the nearest Thai place. Was it the best Thai food ever? No, but that's not what I was expecting. This was a large combination plate and a reasonable price. Could not finish it all. The soup was very good. It had a few vegetables and a slice of chicken with great flavor. Rice is rice and so are egg rolls. The bbq pork was sliced pork with some grill marks. Not sure what I was expecting. The pad thai was exceptional. Everyone has their own likes and taste. Another excellent Thai restaurant under my belt that I can frequent on those 120 days of wishing I could be in Thailand instead of kicking rocks in the desert. The Pad Woon Sen here was excellent!! Their style is a little drier than a few other Thai restaurants I've tried, but the flavor was right on! And as long as my palate is singing with every bite, I'll give out 5 stars all day long here! I got mine with a spice level of 3 (scale of 1-5) & it was consistent with what a 3 should be...just right!! Will be back in a few days to stir up my cough with a spice level of 5 for some good abs workout if this cold doesn't quit!! read more

I was craving Thai food, my friend suggested going here. Glad we went! The decor is very nice, the restaurant seemed very clean, and the staff was friendly. The ambiance of Thai Spices is great for dates or family dinner. Obviously, this being a Thai restaurant, the surrounding decor definitely fits in. The food we order were great, the spice though can be more than you think. We ordered about 6-7 entrees but the pineapple fried rice and pumpkin curry had more than a kick when we asked for medium. Not saying it's bad, but wasn't expecting that type of heat when the option that was given to us was "medium" or "hot". Also, had the Thai Beef Salad. The meat on the salad was a bit tough on this dish. Other dishes that we order were Crab Puffs, which came with a sweet clear sauce, not your usual sweet & sour. It was pleasant surprise for the palate. The entrees that really stood out to me was the Beef Khao Soi and the Seafood Pad Cha. The Khao Soi was cooked well, the meat was soft, the noodles were crispy but soften over time as it is sitting in a curry. The curry is what makes the dish special. As for the Seafood Pad Cha, it was cooked on a hot plate, the dish is solid hit with the family. Had a hint of sweetness and a kick, of course. We also order Thai Iced Tea, it can be on the sweeter side. Overall, I would love to come back here again any day. read more

I love it the best because I enjoy a rich coconut milk soup with a level 5 hot level. Everything hit the spot. The flavors were ridelicious. I was a little hesitant about this place- first date location, not my choice- just based on the outside, but I had been meaning to try some of the food in the area. It's right by the Asian supermarket, so I had high hopes. I was not disappointed! Once you step in, the place has a great atmosphere. We went about 7:30pm on Halloween and didn't wait at all for a table. Service was prompt and our food arrived quickly. I always get pad thai at a medium spicy level the first time I'm at a new Thai place as a way to judge. At first glance, the price is reasonable, but when the food arrived, the portions were huge.
