The outside is off-putting. Located behind a gas station, with a window that's hard to see through, I've passed the place a million times, never inclined to come in. UNTIL .... I happened upon Yelp reviews. They're all excellent. "Gotta try this place," I said to my husband. And tonight we did. The menu is extensive with sushi, stir fries, curries and noodles. We started with a large bowl of tom kha -- a Thai coconut soup with chicken and various seasonings. It had more of a sour tang than I'm used to, but the flavor worked! The portion could easily feed three. We split a cashew nut stir fry with squid, and pad see u with pork. The dishes complimented each other -- the noodles reminiscent of chow fun. The squid was nondescript; it was not the rings and tentacles that I'm used to, and probably an item I'd pass on next time. The server assured me the pork would be lean, and true to his word, it was. Appealing to the American palate the food was mildly spiced. Gotta remember to ask for a bit more heat, next time. One last comment: our dishes came with small side salads, which we weren't expecting. What made the greens interesting was the delicate Asian vinaigrette dressing, which I'd love to replicate at home. Once you get past the sketchy exterior, you'll be glad you gave Thai Taste a try. read more

I get take out from here for lunch all the time, they have a pretty good curry. But now I have eaten in restaurant twice. It is so good and the dishes are beautifully presented (something I missed with the take out). I've had the roast duck and just had the Yum Seafood salad. It was great. Easy with the optional spice, as in many Thai restaurants. The number 2 spice (out of 4) is almost too hot for me. Good to know: they never have Sushi on Wednesday. Not sure if that means Tuesday is a bad sushi day but it might mean it's freshest on Thursday. read more

Absolutely the best curry you can get in Woodstock. Period. This place is amazing, every time I go here I get the yellow curry hot with chicken and you get a ton, you will leave full. So lets dig into that, the actual curry itself is great, it's a tad sweet but it's heat is amazing. The chicken is sliced chicken breast that taste as if it's sauteed in a wok, which is beyond perfect. As for veggies, the carrots and potatoes are awesome. I wish they put sugar snap peas in the dish to add a little more variety, but nonetheless it's one of the best curry dishes around. As for service and atmosphere it's great, I have had no issues with them at all. The atmosphere is bright, and vibrant and welcoming. It is a little pricey, and by that I mean it's $2-$3 more than other places I have been too. So expect to spend $11 a person on average to eat here. Overall 5/5, best curry in the area. I will be back to try more, and also try their sushi at some point. read more

Everything was great! The Beautiful Basil rolls (sans shrimp because of my diet) were incredible to see and the peanut sauce gave it a simply WONDERFUL FLAVOR! I enjoyed my sweet and sour chicken, the chicken was extra tender and I loved the sauce with the vegetables. The complimentary salad was delicious the dressing was great. My husband enjoyed his meal as well, but per usual he liked my choice in sauce even better than his! We know what he's getting next time! The bad reviews here blow my mind because this is absolutely the best Thai I've had. The yellow curry is phenomenal, and has big chunks of white meat chicken which is really unusual for a lot of places. I ALWAYS have a ton extra to bring home for lunch. The coconut chicken soup has such a great, flavourful taste that I think I could go there and have only that myself. It IS a little disappointing that the sushi is only available later in the week, but I think there just isn't enough staff to handle that everyday. You're getting great prices, so I think it's fair. I've never actually had bad service here either, but if you have an issue waiting a little bit, then go home. I think people are so used to eating pre-made food that they don't realize how long cooking actually takes. ANYWAY, this is my husband and I's GO-TO Thai place now. read more

I tried the Pad Thai here. The Pad Thai have a smell of fish sauce, and there was no lime in it. The Pad Thai is on the salty side, rather than sweet or sour. The texture of the noodle is fine, it was not too overcooked. There is no utensil in the bag even though I order to-go. Overall, I don't think I'll return as I'm not a big fan of fish sauce but the taste is not that bad! read more

Just ok for me. Went out of my way to visit based on reviews and was a little disappointed. Had the Penang curry with tofu. I agree with another reviewer that the curry was very watery. This restaurant is a little gem nestled in a plaza which is so tiny you almost miss it. It is sequestered behind a gas station, so if you drive through the gas pump and straight back you'll arrive at the restaurant. We were delighted with the cost effective menu and the many choices available. We selected this restaurant because it had 4 1/2 stars to start with- that's always a nice feature. This time we both ordered the same thing. Bento box #2; it's the one with sashimi. Before the box arrived a very nice bowl of miso soup arrived. In addition to the broth and bits of tofu, the chef included some seaweed which distinguish this soup from most everywhere else. The bento box was really nice. It included some very tasty egg rolls; a salad with a soy vinaigrette; 5 pieces of sashimi (2 Salmon, 2 tuna and one white tuna). The wasabi was outrageously potent suggesting that it was freshly made; and last but not least, 6 pieces of tuna roll which were very good. We augmented this menu with a small hot sake. The sake was good but we thought the price was a bit high for the size. Service was excellent. We're going back to sample some of their other menu items. read more

I just ordered the pad se ew with shrimp and the Tom Yum Soup (very hot) and a side of fried rice for pick up. The food was ready in 15mins and everything was piping hot and tasted very fresh. I was also really impressed that the soup was as spicy as I wanted it to it be , I know some restaurants give you mild even when you request very hot. The soup is delicious with a sour spicy taste and went great with the plain fried rice! The pad See U was also pretty good. I think Thai food has pretty delicate mild flavors so with that being said my meal was great and I would come back again. read more

This place was nice enough decoration-wise, and the waiters were kind, but that's the only thing this place had going for it. The fresh basil rolls with veggies were literally only lettuce and basil wrapped in a rice wrapper, and the sauce was really sour and acidic, I could barely eat it. They also gave us a salad with our meal, which I was excited about until I tasted it. The dressing (which drenched the lettuce) was the same acidic unknown liquid that came with our fresh basil rolls. For my meal, I got chicken pad Thai, and when it came to the table, it was sopping wet in sauce (which is not how pad Thai should be) and didn't smell the best. It was edible, but not good. Ok....this place is in a gas station strip mall. Don't let that fool you! Man is it good! We got coconut soup that was perfect! Crab Rangoon was good as well. Ordered the Houston Roll. Perfect!! this place is good if you can't point out thailand on a map. it wasn't hitting. i got the pad thai and crab rangoons. the pad thai was bland and dry. how does that happen? i dont know. the service was good i had placed an online order and it was ready when i got there and i appreciate that. prices were also cheap compared to other thai places i've been to. ambiance was like any other thai place nothing special, asian decor, very dim and red. i also didn't sit in and eat so i didn't get to experience the vibes to my fullest capacity. i would not go again unfortunately because bad pad thai makes me sad :( read more
