Food was fresh, tasty, like homemade food. Service was great. They gave an extra roti at no cost.

Thali is my all-time favorite restaurant. The very first time I went to Thali, I visited with my parents for my dad's birthday. I was a little nervous bringing them because my dad is a very health conscious eater. Turns out, this was the best place to bring them. The literal translation of "thali" is a shared plate, sourced locally. Serj, the co-owner, makes a special effort to support local farmers only. The menu changes every day depending on what produce is seasonally available. You feel good after eating here! Plus, it's a really fun way to mix it up and experience a different culture. I have been a vegetarian for about 6 months now. I was elated to learn about Thali. The location is a little hard to find because there is no obvious sign and we had to park on the street downtown but.... that is the only downside to this little gem. The food was DELICIOUS!!! and if I wanted more of something I just asked for it. I love that everything is organic and freshly made. This food is so amazing and delicious; pure and made from scratch with nothing than ORGANIC ingredients for only 15$ and all you can eat. Do I need to say more?? The combination of different dishes together with naan, rice, and pickles, it is a delight. Also, there is only 1 menu that differs every night/week, so no decision making. Perfect!!! Finally made it in to Thali. Amazing dinner. I personally love that you don't have options to choose from. I can't remember each specific item on the plate but they were all fantastic. Some of the best meals I've had came from the team serving up amazing, consistent food and this was a real treat. If you love Indian spicy food, then this place is not for you. The food taste was pale missing lots of Indian species. Also, this place advertise full service unlimited food, but they don't serve food until you call them. Also, when we went for dinner, we wee told that they were serving 2 Poories per person as Roti was not available. They also ran out of mashroom shabji and gave us substituted one which was not prepared right. The price of Thali was not worth of food taste, quality and quantity. read more

My boyfriend and I had heard that this place was good. My bf is vegan so finding a place for us both to eat ( I am not a vegan) can be tough. The first thing they ask was about our dietary restriction and were able to cater to both a vegan and non-vegan diet. We were both pleasantly surprise that the food came out quick and that the restaurant staff took the time to explain what was being served and detail what ingredients were used in each dish. I was also able to request to try the vegan dessert which surprisingly was way better than the dessert I got. Hoping to make another visit soon. read more

For cost ($14.70), the thali is rip off. Absolutely no variety and the only saving grace may be the organic, home cooked part. The sweet I had yesterday was bland and one of the sabzi had too much garam masala. And a carrot/potato sabzi??? Carrot is not something I can associate with a sabzi. read more

We arrived in Reno early Saturday evening, en route from Portland to Arizona. The desk clerk recommended a nice restaurant on the river; that one was booked with 20-minute wait for seating. We were tired and hungry so we went to another place. Same story. And another. We stumbled into Thali almost by accident: It's very hard to spot because it lacks adequate signage, but it's definitely worth seeking out. It's a unique experience: No menu, strictly vegetarian, and all you can eat. The food was excellent, and there was no problem accommodating my wife's Celiac dietary restrictions. The servers were attentive and stopped to chat; there was never a sense of anyone rushing about. Four enthusiastic thumbs up! read more

This was our first time in Reno, and this place is definitely in our top 10 restaurants we've been to across the United States. The bottomless service was excellent! The staff was very present, remembering everything about our meal. We are vegetarians, and everything here was perfect for us after a long day of hiking. The menu changes depending on what ingredients they received from the farm, and by the kitchen's intuition. The flavors paired perfectly. Parking was a little hard to find, until we realized we could park at the park across the river, and the walk over the river was nice! 10/10 would come again! read more

Brought friends who love Indian food to Thali for dinner on Friday, they live in the Bay Area and said it was the best Indian food they have had. We agree the freshness, variety, and presentation is great. Service is delightful it feels as though you are visiting someone's home for dinner. There is no menu just a wonderful variety of food that you are offered seconds of if you want. Just like at home. We left with our tummy content and our pallet alive! What a wonderful special place they really have put their heart into their food. The only small problem is you feel a little crowded and table conversation can be hard to hear.
