The Admiral Rodney pub and restaurant stands on the edge of a steep and beautiful valley in the suburb of Loxley in Sheffield. The large stone built pub offers a warm and comfortable place to enjoy a selection of dishes from its adequate menu. The bar and serving staff are not the most efficient people I have ever come across, they appear to want to spend time talking in huddles than doing what they are being paid to do. However the food is delicious and quite reasonably priced, except the swordfish that arrives as a small portion on a large plate with hardly any accompaniments. On Sunday lunchtime the restaurant is over run with young children which can be quite annoying for other diners. read more
