(aka the police blotter) They went from a full- to half-broadsheet fairly recently. A good choice considering there wasn't enough content to warrant this oversized, awkward format. I gave the paper 5 stars because I believe in what they are doing but I really think the writing skills are lacking and as a past copyeditor -- there are tons of mistakes! But what can you do!

The articles are pretty interesting, and everything's written by Naperville citizens, businesspeople and law enforcement. There are some cutesy recurring themes, like photos of kids at a certain seasons, a slight irritant to my blase Chicagoness, but it fits in and I can see why they include it. I admit it, I ALWAYS turn to the back of the magazine to check whether my address is listed; whether I won a Rocky Mountain Chocolates gift certificate. There are often good teen advice columns, profiles of businesses, new or established. I can honestly say I learn something new every time I read it. It's especially good for planning kids' activities, around holidays or any time.

We have contacted the appropriate personnel at The Daily Journal office following the protocol that they have put into place and notified them of this concern. We have been promised twice now by The Daily Journal office that we will receive our papers and be credited for the missing papers. Still no paper. Have yet to see any credit. Fool me once; that's on me; fool me twice and that is the end of this relationship. If you wish a contract with people who promise much and deliver nothing.......well this is the business for you. The paper would be improved if it either (a) covered all of La Salle County, or (b) was printed three times a week. It offers good, sound, anti-democratic, 19th century anarcho-conservatism.
