Great food and awesome location. I HIGHLY recommend the wings...get them smoked and then fried. Also, their nachos are incredible

Arrived as a group of 8 at around 9pm, not realizing it was their trivia night, which made it a bit packed. We were still able to snag a booth and squeeze in. Most people ordered burgers, the Albert, diner burger and a few turkey burgers. Others ordered wings and nachos. Everyone was pleased with their food. My Albert burger was a double stack cheese burger with bacon, pimento cheese and onion... yes it was delicious, yes it was messy, and yes I felt terrible after crushing the entire thing along with fries. The smoked wings were really crispy without being too dry and a nice Smokey flavor. The Albert is low key one of the better burgers in Atlanta, up there with H&F, but with a spin because of the bacon and pimento cheese. It's over the top greedy, which is great in the moment, but I left vowing to not eat it again for a while. Despite joining trivia halfway though, our group still managed to finish in the top 3, count that as a win! read more

Any restaurant that has boiled peanuts on the menu is pretty fine by me. The menu at the Albert is as flavorful as the area surrounding it. Inman park is a nice change from the monotonous nights in neighboring VaHi or Little 5. I was really impressed by the food, considering there is something for everyone here. Except for smoking, that is NOT for everyone, and unlike our buddies in Decatur, you are able to smoke inside this bar. I personally don't like to eat & smoke, in the same vicinity. But I can get over it, because there were tacos, folks. Really amazing pulled pork tacos. Sure, I got them with a side of green beans, because the waiter said they were the best side item, and most ordered. Those green beans, DAYUM. I kept wafting my garlic breath while laughing with my friend because I knew there was no way the fresh garlic stench could fumigate my mouth for at least 24 hours. You don't want to know what day-old garlic stench is like. I chalked it up to: "I'm not meeting anyone tonight, but I know you'll still be my friend even if I smell like roadkill" Still. Friends. My buddy told me his favorite item on the menu was the Albert hot dog. You gotta love a place that can make a hot dog as if it were unicorn meat sausages. (But really) On the tipsy side of the Albert life, they have a great drink menu. To name a few: Bells Two-Hearted, ::swoons::, Sweetwater, Guinness, Sierra Nevada, Mothership Wit, PBR, Highlife and specialties of all kinds in the cocktail department. I remember when this palce used to be the Austin Avenue Buffet. PBR was not popular back then but this place had it and the crowd (a rough one) made it the beverage of choice. Times have changed and so has the neighborhood. Now this place caters to upscale hip intown types. I know that Tuesdays or Wednesday nights feature trivia. I noticed recently that The Albert has been airing The Walking Dead episodes (on AMC) and that has brought me back in here after a long hiatus. One thing I DO NOT like is the talking and lack of quiet that is tolerated during Walking Dead airings. I don't like it when peope jabber incessantly while the show is on. The Albert is about as plain as its name...yep, you get what I'm saying. If I lived in the area it might be my back-up, back-up local. I have a friend that lives on N. Highland so the Albert is just a hop & a skip down the road. We've ventured there maybe 6 times total. Good location while still being tucked away from the other pricy places in the area. BEER!!! Beer selection is a-ok, with a good variety of local and seasonal and your standard domestic and foreign varieties. They have quite a few drink specials with the best being the Bearenjager shots for only a $1. You can't beat that! Food is fairly good, nothing to knock your socks off but pretty typical for a bar. I do enjoy the boiled peanuts...them damn things have so kick and I love it! The layout of the place is wonky!! You have to squeeze by the bar when coming in the main entrance and sitting space is minimal. They have an additional seating area that is more wide open but it just feels different over there. Only 2 bathrooms as well (that's one for each sex) so you have to wait in line cause they are single units...I hate that layout! This is very much a local only's type place but everyone seems pretty friendly...give this place a try! read more

If I were doing a tour of low-light bars for some late-night, mellow drinking, i'd make this the third or fourth stop. It's a totally solid bar, though not my favorite. The main bar feels a little cramped. They usually have a pretty good crowd but it's hard to fit all the people around the bar sometimes. Once a friend of mine called it "Snuggle Bar." Which means it might be a good place for a low-key date. The food here is fine, but nothing that's ever wowed me. Tonight I had a chicken melt that was decent. Not a very big piece of chicken and too many sauteed onions. I almost always get the sauteed green beans, which are a highlight on the menu. I've had several of their sandwiches, and I generally like them fine. Overall, this is a solid neighborhood bar. The bartenders are generally friendly, too. read more

I have a new lover. His name is Albert. I have to start off by commenting on the absolute best part of the experience: the music. Song after song, the soundtrack of my life. Matt & Kim. Passion Pit. Foster the People. Sounds like someone hooked up my iPod to the sound system. And the prices. So affordable. $6 for a glass of house wine? In the city of Atlanta, that is a total bargain. The bar is tucked away behind a cluster of Inman Park gems such as Barcelona and Fritti. I had no idea it was even back there until my friend pulled up into the little parking lot off of Elizabeth Street. We were lucky enough to snag a lot spot, but there are only a few back there so I can see how it might be frustrating if you had to drive around and scope out street parking for a bit. The place is dimly lit with a few distinctive nods to gothic architecture. Gargoylish lion figures adorn the top of the bar shelves, keeping a watchful eye over the bottles of liquor. We did not venture over to the dining room area, but my friends informed me that it's just as pleasant and laid back. My two friends and I sat in a cozy booth right by the bar. Our server was attentive and sweet, and not too pushy. We were able to relax and catch up, taking in the jams and sipping our drinks. My one gripe - there was a faint smell of smoke in the air from the few patrons who decided to light up. But I would by no means call it a "smoky" bar. My favorite part about this bar - it appeals to people of all shapes, sizes, colors, wardrobes. The crowd was very diverse. Not too hipster, not too preppy, not too old... I like that there isn't a stereotypical "theme" or vibe. It's not trying too hard. It's just a solid establishment that brings people together for great drinks at great prices. read more

The Albert is a drinking establishment. Do not go here for their food, it sucks. Decent if you're drunk and trying to sober up a little. But seriously, go here to drink. Belly up to the bar, grab a booth, whatever. Ladies, careful in the "parking lot." Heels are an adventure in the parking lot, but let's be honest - I've almost busted ass sober in flip flops. I love a waiter who tells it like it is and that would be Bones at The Albert. Ask to order your cheese dip without jalapeños? He'll tell you not to bother having it then. Looking for advice on what to order? He'll tell you. This is a great place to have a beer and food that falls somewhere in-between pub food and comfort food. Apps: Get the wings, skip the queso. Plates: The boys love the BBQ Sandwiches: El Alberto is great, the steak sandwich is by far my fav. Burgers are pretty standard, but never a bad choice. Sides: the salad is surprisingly nice and the mac-n-cheese where it's at Couldn't ask for a better neighborhood spot... Parking can be a little tricky if you need to drive and remember not to park in the lot for Savi next door - they will tow. read more

I drove in from Orlando to meet my cousins who live nearby and they recommended The Albert and I'm really glad they did. The chicken tenders and onion rings were well breaded and not greasy. Only critique would be that an additional dipping sauce flavor would be cool (I'm not into mustard). I had the Albert Burger which was really incredible. Not to mention the fact that I got to enjoy a local Scofflaw IPA on tap which I can't get in Florida. I will definitely return on future visits to the ATL. read more

I wish I could give this place a better review...but I sadly was dissappointed. Stopped in here late Saturday after the theatre in Little 5. I had high hopes. Instead, big disappointment. Sat at the bar...very smoky. Which is okay and acceptable at 10:30 at night. The unfriendly monster of a bartender said no words. Basically stood there and assumed we could read his mind. So we ordered drinks (adequate beer selection and prices) and asked for menus. Food was typical pub grub. However, one point of note, the smoked bbq was well done. A little dry, but would have been better a few hours earlier. Bartender than cleared plates when back was turned and presented check prior to asking (if he ever spoke) if we wanted another beer. The place seems like it would be great neighborhood pub. Too bad service is lacking. read more

The Albert is a place you go for trivia while enjoying decent bar food. Nothing on the menu stands out as "I MUST GO BACK AND ORDER IT AGAIN TONIGHT" but I don't recall anything wrong with my meals either. I've eaten at The Albert probably three times in the past 6 months and it is what it is... a great place to grab a beer or meet up with friends to enjoy their company while snacking on nachos and fries. read more

This is my first time here...WoW !! For starters, the Al's Bloody Mary is incredible. Vegetable infused vodka and sriracha.. bang The sausage, pimento cheese, toast tips appetizer.. spot on ! All of us are still drooling over the roasted cream corn... i had the Brisket cheese melt ... heaven in my mouth ... And service... ! Bingo ! Friendly, knowledgeable and invisible until you think you may want something and magically... there she is. The decor is perfect. Subway tile where it belongs ... bead board to soften it up ... I went for the Inman Park restaurant week. I loved the menu as it had a very good variety of choices for appetizer, entree and dessert. It made it hard to choose. For $15, the meal was pretty good. For the appetizer, I chose the lamb lollipops. Notice lollipops is plural. So I was expecting more than one and I was kinda thinking it would be like the lamp lollipops at Two Urban Licks. But it was one loin lamb chop served with an olive tapenade. The chop was very good, but because I was starving, I was left wanting a little more, but as my server reminded me, it was an appetizer. Thanks, but next time the menu should say lamb lollipop and not lollipops. My friend ordered the smoked jumbo wings which were plentiful for an appetizer. Luckily she shared because they were excellent. For my entree, I ordered the seared scallops with brown butter, bacon and garlic spinach. Again, I was expecting a smidge more than 3 scallops, but that might have been because I was starving and a bit disappointed with the appetizer. The entire dish was awesome though. My friend ordered the stuffed chicken breast wrapped in bacon and wild mushroom risotto. Of course, it was plentiful and super delish. We ordered the key lime pie and raspberry cheesecake for dessert, and both were really good. Would I go back to try things on the regular menu? Sure. I saw some things on the regular menu that I'd like to try and I certainly want to order those smoked wings next time. read more

I visited The Albert for the first time this past weekend with a group of friends and I definitely dug the place. We went in late after dinner so I didn't get to check out the food menu but I really liked the beer options. I'll have to have a PB & J the next time I go back although, the thought of that doesn't sit well right now. (Cue liquid courage!) The music was great and the crowd was nicely diverse and chilled. Absolutely fantastic spot with a very neighborhood feel. Almost always bustling, but rarely packed. A couple of things on the menu not to miss: the smoked chicken wings and the boiled peanuts. The smoked chicken wings are exactly what you think they are... They're served "naked", hot, smokey, peppery, and with just the right amount of saltiness. A barbeque-type sauce comes on the plate with them, but I never use it on the wings. They just don't need it. Seriously, if you're tired of your typical chicken wing platter, try the smoked wings at The Albert. The boiled peanuts are kind of a throwback to my childhood when a sandwich bag full of hot boiled peanuts nestled inside a small, brown paper sack was a treat my parents used to buy my brother and me at the flea market every Saturday. The boiled peanuts at The Albert definitely have a little spice to them, but not enough that one would call them "Cajun" or some-such. If you like hot boiled peanuts, you'll like these. If you've always wanted to try them, but were unsure about buying a bag from that homeless looking guy cooking them by the side of the road in GodKnowsWhere, Missibama, here's your opportunity. Hubby and I visited The Albert after I won a gift card in a raffle at a local salon. Given that it was a Friday night, the restaurant was pretty packed with locals hanging at the bar but we were able to be seated right away. We started with cocktails - Springvale's Secret Garden and the Suburban Showdown. Both drinks were very delicious while still packing a punch! From there, we tried out the fried pickles and wings for appetizers. Buffalo Lemon Pepper was the special sauce for the night so we grabbed 6 of those along with an order of Ranch... all of it was tasty! We also had our eyes set on burgers but was quickly filling up on the apps; however our gluttony wouldn't allow us to visit for the first time and not try a burger! We decided to be conservative and *share* The Diner... and I'm so glad that we did because it was a darn good burger! We missed on the side though by ordering fries instead of something else - wasted opportunity! Our server was great as well although I'm sad that I can't remember her name (too many Secret Gardens). While having a drink late night in the neighborhood, two friends at the opposite end of the bar asked me to get the bartenders attention... I was freshly greeted with... Basically " stay out of the bartenders's ego's way" he told me promptly that I wasn't working and that my friends were taken care of.. Although they weren't. I went on Wed for Trivia night. I rode my bike like many people in Inman park. To my amazement, no bike racks to be found. Had to settle for natural gas pipes. No smoking during trivia which is brilliant! Took 20 minutes to get beer. No glass offered, just a can. Burger took 45 minutes cause waitress forgot to put in order. Asked for water and got another beer instead. BLT not bad, fries were lame. Waitresses were rude to us when we tried to pay bill with gift cards. Not my definition of a neighborhood bar. Cheers it ain't! Hopefully our group will play trivia at another of the hundreds of bars that are infinitely better than this dive. read more

When you think of a "place where everybody knows your name". I think of this place. It is our neighborhood bar and just recently has been supplanted by Victory across the street. It's got a bit more of a dark pubby vibe and I'm a big fan of their food here from the veggie burger to the the garlic green beans. Solid beer and bar list and you go here for the vibe. You see the same people, you'll have the same bartender and you'll just keep coming back. read more

A neighborhood bar that fits in nicely with where its at: along Austin Avenue, near the heart of Inman Park's eateries, but tucked away from the scene, just as the locals would prefer it. In the evenings, fairly full and lively, with lots of loyal locals lining the bars, and the staff here is pretty responsive. If I lived in this part of town, it would turn into my go-to spot. The Albert has a nice dark feeling to it and some delicious drinks to boot. I usually show up on Sundays if I want to relax and watch some football where it isn't too rowdy or loud. I love the drink special "Irish Lowlife" which is a Miller High Life and a shot of Jameson for $5. Service is always good and the food is tasty. Come hang out for a good laid back bar atmosphere that feels a lot cleaner than most dives in the area. read more

Really wish I could give this place a 3.75. In my opinion it's a really solid local bar. They have cool artwork a large bar, lots of seating and above average food (especially the smoked wings - I know everyone loves them). Although pretty gruff I OVE the fact that Todd the bartender is THE ultimate big mean bartender guy. He's a man-mountain and usually has non-existant conversation but he's a solid bartender and honestly it adds to the charm of the place. Trivia is played once or twice a week and they have a lot of games on the tvs. It's not mind blowing in there but I still like the Albert for a local bar. Cold beer and good food it works. read more

So apparently I go to lots of trivia. Its summer. Its hot. Its easy to stay inside, eat and drink beer, and avoid the sticky awfulness that is summer in Atlanta. Trivia night: really busy, if you want to get a table get there early. Like a half hour early, because you might not find a table and you can't play trivia when its standing room only. I have sampled a fair amount of the food here. The blackened grouper po' boy is really good. I got stuck on that as an order for a few weeks. One time, I decided to break away from my usual and I changed it up to the shrimp habanero wrap. Obviously I get habanero and jalapeno confused. Jalapeno = a nice spiciness that causes your lips to do a little dance. Habanero = totally burn my poor lips and tongue spicy. I couldn't taste the shrimp, wrap, or whatever else that came with it because my mouth was on fire. I am sure there are folks out there that love this, but it was just too spicy for me. I haven't had many starters here, but I tried the smoked wings a few weeks ago and they were awesome. I was skeptical at first since I am not the biggest wing fan. However, these were a smokey treat to start out my trivia night. read more
