We've been meaning to try this place for quite some time because of the great reviews! First, parking is a bit cramped, so just know that! The atmosphere really is beautiful. Lots of food options and bakery options, and although they're on the expensive side, everything was so fresh and delicious. The winter salad was so light and tasty, I recommend that if you're looking for a healthy option. The coffee was also very good - espresso was not bitter, the drink blended wonderfully. We were given this recommendation although we were only visiting clarksville, I turned to my husband & said "this place may top any coffee shop in Denver." All of our drinks were perfect. I was especially impressed by the matcha latte & the biscoff seasonal flavored drink. This is such a cute coffee shop. It was a little cold inside but comfortable. The service is... well college aged students but they were friendly. The bummers: No Splenda or Stevia or ANY sugar substitutes. They said they were out of them. Out of ALL of them! The service is good, this place has been busy both times I've gone but the wait wasn't too long. They sell the cutest stickers and they even have fresh eggs and other local things. Ack! I forgot to submit this review! Meh. I was so excited to try this new cafe. Absolutely love the eclectic decor and furniture inside. It's a new build, but I would've believed if someone said it used to be an old dry-cleaning place or mechanic's shop! The large doors open up like a huge garage for an open air cafe. It was cold the day I went, so I missed that. Maybe I had high hopes, but I took one star away for NO PARKING in the lot or on the cafe premises. (I saw the small sign at the register, but missed the little sidewalk sign outside.) This cafe is perfect for those who live, work, or attend the university and want good coffee or tea. We were told to move our vehicles since the tow truck was there, if we had parked in the lot. Well, we tried the one street on the other side of the apartment building. It was full, so I ended up parking two streets up. Good luck finding (free) street parking. Made it back to my food and latte waiting for me. Sitting on the cozy chair or sofa is wonderful, but I needed a table to eat the waffle without making a mess. All the tables were taken though. Meh. Everything I ordered was delicious. I was pleased with the waffle, fresh blueberries, and dip-able dish with syrup. I don't know why I expected a compote of some kind, but wouldn't that be delightful. Dipping the waffles made it less messy to eat from the coffee table sitting in the upholstered chair. The one table (cute as of wooden repurposed desk) was available at the front, but it was too drafty for us. I missed their Holiday Night Market event with The Wren last Saturday ... but I heard the live music and coffee was amazing. Epic photos taken by my friend, but I could not join her as my little one was already asleep in bed. LOL If I lived/worked nearby or still attended APSU, this could easily be a regular hangout spot for me and some friends. However, it's not convenient to access nor does it have a drive-thru. Such a wonderful place, I love coming in and doing a tea pot with a friend. It's perfect to do with a friend and there's so many teas to choose from. The workers there are so incredibly nice and its a very homey feeling cafe. I cannot recommend their business enough, especially considering all of their ingredients are sourced locally. Wow, yup, wow. I was really surprised at The Amsterdam. They have only been open since June of 23 but definitely worth a visit. While the menu for food is not huge, the coffee is really good. If you're in to frufru coffee, this is your place. However, if you like espresso or cappuccino or you just want a cup of plain old Joe, they have you covered. I picked up the Govs Wrap and I gotta say it's really good. That with a cappuccino for starters was worth it. Prices are not that big chain we all know of but they are reasonable for the specialty coffee. Now, if you're gonna be a while and you're a coffee junkie, like me, they also have the refillable drip coffee for a reasonable price. The seating is definitely got the coffee shop vibes and is comfortable. The crew that works the mornings are super friendly and willing to help you figure out what you want but also will leave you alone to decide on your own. The biggest draw back, which really I don't see the complaints, is the parking lot in front is actually owned by the apartment building that is right there. But really, that's small. We go to Amsterdam every time we are in Clarksville.. Their place is cozy and the food and coffee are amazing! We recently used Amsterdam for a private event we hosted in the downtown area. The catering choices were varied and the prices were reasonable. We opted to have Amsterdam deliver and setup our food table and coffee station. The presentation was amazing and so beautiful! After spending 35 dollars on a salad and a latte (small), I was forced to pay $100 to the tow truck that was hooking up my car when I went to leave. I parked right outside the business and there wasn't any signs in front of the parking spots. After I paid they showed me the very small tiny print "no parking" sign next to the entrance of the parking lot. Before I went outside, the waiter told me I can park in a nearby neighborhood on the street. As a teenage girl, I'm not going to walk through a random neighborhood in Clarksville alone, also having to cross streets. I understand that not all parking lots are free or available to park in, but it would have been nice to see a sign or be told that before getting towed. It all seemed a little scam-like since lots of people get towed there everyday yet the owner of the parking lot and the amsterdam business don't do anything about it. They don't bother to put up a bigger sign or even signs in front of the parking spots. If you go here, please be aware that there is NO PARKING anywhere around the building. If you do decide to park far away and walk, the atmosphere is nice and so is the greenery. read more

I went on a really restrictive diet for health reasons and literally wouldn't have otherwise burdened anyone with all the specifications except I had an all day appointment and needed to eat something. In addition to the barista being next level sweet and patient, she was kind. She helped me put something together and it was spectacular. Delicious and summery and safe for me to eat. I've loved coming here for their vanilla crème chai latte, and have had a pastry and sandwich that were absolutely delightful but the service and attention is unmatched. My drink was the espresso sunrise, it had espresso and orange juice, and a deconstructed sandwich with fruit as the side. It is a very nice cafe. The ambiance is very homely and provides a good atmosphere to relax and get work done if need be. The food is very high quality, and the coffee is some of the best that my wife and I have had in the area. I personally like their dirty chai, which they have their own recipe for. My reviews will always be from a travelers perspective. The owners of this shop should not be putting their customers cars in jeopardy the way they are. This establishment has no parking lot. When you pull into what looks like their parking lot, your car will get towed. The lot belongs to the apartment complex apparently. I feel this coffee shop has a duty to its customers to have a large very visible sign BEFORE you pull into the "parking lot" that says the coffee shop has only street parking and some kind of warning that you will be towed. The only signs you have are honestly at the register and on the building that to a non local blends in and is not noticeable. In the time it took this place to make us 2 coffee's, the tow truck towed 2 customers cars. They were getting ready to tow ours if I hadn't realized that when we pulled in there were 2 tow trucks and while I was at the counter checking out, they have a sign about their parking. I made the connection and asked my husband to go outside and check our car, the tow truck was backing up to it. The coffee was good though. And they sell raw milk and fresh sourdough bread. The place has a lot to offer but they should consider their customers and where to park. The staff felt terrible and you could tell they didn't know what to do. read more

There is literally no parking and if you park in what seems to be the parking lot, you will be towed. A girl was trying to find her car but it had been towed and was costing her $150. So the "No parking" on tiny signs is real. I tried to find something close but there just wasn't anything. I won't be trying to go there again. read more

I love that they have a seasonal menu that rotates and the coffee is always delicious. My freaking car was towed from the lot that the place is sitting on. Apparently you cannot park at the restaurant, Costs me $150 CASH.

I don't know what kind of scam is being run up here or who is in on it, but I would never again patronize this cafe. I was in the area on business with a colleague and we were looking for a place to grab lunch. I was delighted to find this adorable looking cafe with lovely indoor and outdoor seating, so I pulled into the lot and parked and went inside where there was a great menu of food and drinks. I called my colleague who pulled in after me and we met up inside. The staff was very friendly and advised there would be a wait for the sandwiches, which I said was fine as my colleague and I could get some work done while waiting. We went up to the counter at least four times: to order, then to pick up our drinks, then (a good wait later, but fine, we were warned) to pick up our food, then to order some drinks to go. Then, only on our fifth and last visit to grab to-go drinks, when we were about to leave, did the person behind the counter ask if we were parked in the lot outside. Of course we were parked in the lot outside; where on earth else would we have parked or how else would we have gotten there? Then she informed us that we had better go outside to move our cars quickly because someone was there to tow the cars. I must have looked at her like she had two heads. Why would someone tow my car for parking in the lot of a cafe I'm eating inside?! Apparently, the lot was only for the apartment building attached to the cafe and, if you searched for it, you could find a tiny sign at the entrance to the parking lot or in the fine print of some signs in front of the spots that were directly in front of the cafe. But there were no signs in front of the spots surrounding the perimeter of the lot (where we were parked), there were no signs inside the cafe, no one inside the cafe bothered to mention the situation when we first came in, and the towing company did not bother to come into the cafe to warn anyone. Nor did the cafe staff make an announcement when the tow truck arrived. When I went outside the lot was practically empty and the person driving the two truck was bragging about how he comes there every day at lunch time and clears the lot. Cafe guests were coming outside looking stunned. My colleague's car was towed to a lot just a few blocks away (along with most of the other cafe patron's cars) and we had to pay $150 to get it released (my car was spared by mere moments or it would have been $300). Since the lot was nearly cleared by the towing company, it was apparent that no one who lived in the apartments actually needed to park there during the day and, since there were no prominent signs or warnings, it was also clear that this was not really about maintaining empty spots for residents. Someone (or a few someones) is making a whole lot of money luring people into a cafe that appears to be friendly and inviting with ample parking, making them wait for their food, and then while they're sitting there enjoying what they think is a leisurely lunch, towing their cars away by the dozen. A $15 lunch and a $150 parking bill. read more
