I echo the comments made on 21/04/2013. I have visited this pub on numerous occasions when the prior management team where there. On every occasion I took my dog with me and had no problems at all, indeed other 'regular' customers took there dogs as well and it was a nice environment, a great place to have a drink on the river.
How times have changed. In March this year I visited the pub and was told it was ok to bring my dog in as usual. Whilst ordering at the bar the landlady's dog, unrestrained, approached and attached my dog with no provocation at all. All the landlady would say was' I'm sorry, I need my dog as I am on my own'. My young children where caught up in the attack and the landlady could not grasp my point that the dog should be tethered. When leaving I was told by one of the locals that this has happened before and that is why regulars no longer bring their dogs with them any more.
Visit at you own peril but please please do not take a dog. read more
