Centennial Park - Lots of birds. I believe these are the first black swans I've ever seen.

They do have barbeque areas, and quite a few of them, but they also have lakes, and just plain old good parkland to wander around.

I rode a bike through here on the many improved trails that crisscross through this public space. Through here, there were teams practicing rugby, enough bicyclists to start a biker gang, joggers, runners, and people who were out to just take in the sunshine. As you cross through this park, you find lots of green open spaces large enough to play a full game of rugby, without running into a park bench or a tree. There's restrooms available. My favorite thing about this park is the huge stone gates at each entrance that remind you that you're entering an important public space. There's monuments throughout the park, and plenty of parking! I felt safe riding through here, just due to the sheer number of people who were out having a stroll in the park!

A great, fast pool (like the Homebush aquatic centre) with great aqua classes for toning and shaping your body; especially if you want to give the traditional gym machines a miss. And it is extremely close to Kings Cross. Local residents living in Kings Cross, Darlinghurst and Elizabeth Bay normally come to this gym, or to City Gym on Crown Street. It is the type of establishment that you want to come back for more, and more. Gym junkies and fitness fanatics rejoice. I have mainly been a causal visitor, although I have friends and business associates who are on memberships here; and once they have left the chain gyms behind; they become addicted to adrenaline here in addition to using the swimming pool. It is bliss to also be surrounded by an abundance of greenery; and an inspiring way to workout. Their fitness trainers are also quite professional, and it is the type of health club where you don't feel like your left out or forgotten weeks after joining up.

The facilities are outstanding and it opens up in summer, it has nice wall art and it's a full 50M pool with lots of lanes open for lap swimming. When I think about the best pools I've been to this is the one that I think of. If I lived in Sydney I'd go here every day. The price is quite honestly cheap for what you get. Seriously, just go here and enjoy an excellent facility.

Arguably one of the best adaptive reuse project in Australia, the reservoir promotes and celebrates the beauty of its past life while revels in the future and its potential. It's wide enough to host functions and gatherings etc, and when I was there, people used it for work meetings or simply just to meet up with friends. The bench initiative where you get to grab a deck chair and sit wherever you want is genius. Protip: come during sunset and watch the world go by as the sun goes down. It is stunning.

First it is a brilliant restoration of an archeologically important site that can actually be used. It is not a museum 'look but don't touch' place. Second, it was kept away from developers even though its location must have made them hyperventilate at the profits that could have been made by destroying it. Third, its free. Her 21st was free! I cannot believe my luck! Apart from some students making a short film and a couple taking wedding shots there was no one else there. Chairs are provided and there are undercover areas if the weather turns, it has everything. I was overcome by my creative side, a side that appears only to me and which is denied by my family who say it is simply boredom. Anyway, I took some photos, some of my best work I think. Its a great spot.

Once you get upstairs your instantly transported into a room of mystery and intrigue. The lounge area while you wait is filled with puzzles to keep you entertained. Biscuits and tea or coffee are freely available. It's located on George Street close to Martin Place Station, Town Hall and Wynyard so perfect to get to. The tone for each room is set out with a description of what your about to encounter on a manual. The excellent hostess also described a brief history of the 3 stories to each room which got us all pumped and ready for our challenge. Each room offers mental challenges and mathematical problem solving as you attempt to make your way along the crime solving journey. The game is challenging and your given 60 minutes to get out before it's too late. My group and I found it very tough and required a lot of brain storming. Definitely be prepared to be challenged. The hostess provides you with a walkie talkie for those moments your struggling with clues which is great when your going the wrong way. The reward for getting out is some fun picture moments with some props like a magnifying glass or pipes. Your chance to look like Sherlock Holmes. This place is perfect for a group of friends celebrating a birthday or work bounding experience. I highly recommend the place and the staff here and superb professionals and go out of their way to ensure everyone leaves with a smile. Best thing is they got 3 different rooms and frequently update them so you can return again. Thanks Escape Hunt for a good experience.

Who stole the money from the cottage?…read more That was what my team of three had to uncover. The place was dimly lit, the brick looking wall paper, the costumes and the other decor gave the feeling of being in a sherlock holmes novel. They even have the accompanying outfits, large magnifying glasses and smoking pipes. There were many of us detectives, we were divided into groups and had different puzzles to solve and were given an hour to solve the mystery! The team I was with was the first to solve the mystery (woohoo!!! - I even have a certificate to provide it!) There were a couple of rooms and in each there was a clue and using that we had to find the combination to a lock. Opening a lock usually means uncovering the next clue or getting access to the next room. Upon unlocking the final lock, you'll learn who the culprit it (in our case, who stole the money). While you're suppose to feel like Sherlock Holmes in this game, I have to say that I felt more like the mentalist. Mainly because the clues we were given were about the behaviour of the possible suspects and we had to decipher the cryptic text and find the correct items to get the combination for the next lock. And also because the place is located in the heart of the Sydney CBD right on George Street. I walk past there countless times and didn't realise that this cool establishment existed. There were plenty of nibbles where we first arrived and there were also little puzzles for us to solve while we waited for our game to start. And at the end, there were champagne and wine to enjoy while we share our last 60 minutes experience with the other teams. Our team solves the mystery in 47 minutes. How long did yours take?
