Louisa, VA. Nov, 2025. It was 1979, and we were cool teenagers in our senior year of high school…read more My best friend had a car, and her soundtrack (was it on an 8-track player?) repeated her favorite music from Styx and Blue Oyster Cult as my cruised the streets of our home town and environment. Occasionally, some other band were thrown in, such as Boston and the Rolling Stones. Fast forward 46 years -- wherein my husband surprised me with tickets for BOSTYX: A Tribute (band) to Boston and Styx, performing at the Louisa Arts Center. The evening show had been sold out, but he was able to get us tickets for a later-added afternoon performance. What nostalgia! I don't know a lot about the band, except to say that they're terrific! They're a six-member group (all men) that seems to be from Connecticut (based on my unscientific goggle search), and that performs primarily in the northeast and mid-Atlantic. Looking at their website, upcoming performances are scheduled for CT, DE, MA, MD, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, and VA. Their performance at the Louisa Arts Center was EXCEPTIONAL! Every one of the band members was very talented, with vocals and guitars/drums that were spot-on to the originals. They also had great stage presence. The lead singer Raj had soaring vocals, with a range that hit the stratosphere. Kudos also to Neal on guitars, Rob on drums and vocals, Rich on bass and vocals, Alex on keys and guitar, and Tony on guitar and vocals. By the end of the concert, and for the encore, they had the crowd on its feet! Thank you to Louisa Arts Center for bringing this terrific entertainment to small-town Louisa at a reasonable price. Our two tickets came to $85.32 with taxes and fees.

The play or rather hilarious musical was fantastic and SOLD OUT! If you have a ticket you will agree it was money well spent! The cast from youngest sweet little sheep to oldest reverend will have you laughing and applauding all night. It was the first ever live musical my children had seen and both wanted to be in one and see more! Thank you to the cast you have inspired a new generation of musical lovers and dream seekers! BRAVO! BRAVO!
