I've been going to bagel station religiously for more than 20 years and I am never disappointed. Both the food and the customer service are great. Unfortunately because they are so good the line tends to get a little long on weekends and popular holidays, but it is just a testament to how good these bagels and breakfast sandwiches are. Oh no Yelp, it's one of the very few times that you've done me wrong. A four star bagel place definitely catches my eye. I was on my way back home from the Sussex County Fairgrounds, when my family, friends, and I decided to stop here for lunch. We were psyched that they had outdoor seating because we had a pup with us. When we got inside the line wasn't too long, about 3 people ahead of us, but it took forever to finally place our order. I ordered a toasted Honey Cracked wheat bagel with light scallion cream cheese, taylor ham and mozz cheese on a multigrain bagel for my husband, and a bagel for my daughter. We finally got our food, sat outside, and hungrily tore into our bagels. My toasted bagel was barely warm. Usually when I order a toasted bagel, it as least has some crunch to it. The bagels were so doughy that they weren't really enjoyable at all. I will say that the pumpkin spice coffee was good, and their apple cider donuts were good as well. Buy the donuts in the 6-pack though, because the single apple cider donut my husband bought wasn't as good. I'm not sure why this place has 4 stars, I just wasn't impressed! read more

We randomly stumbled upon this gem on our way to Dingman falls and wow this place is amazing. We're from Long Island so we know a good bagel and this place can compete with any NY bagel spot. Not only do they have amazing bagels, but their sandwiches, pies & muffins are all excellent. We got Bacon egg & cheese, blueberry crumble pie and apple pie muffins which we raved about for hours. This used to be the place to get the.bagels, but sometimes there are more important things beyond just good food. I had a order mishap that resulted in my starving for several hours. It was so egregious i called them just to let them know and then drove a half hr to meet with the owner. I love Bagel Station. I've been a loyal customer for the better part of the last fifteen years. The food is always so good and filling. However, this review isn't about the food. This review is about one of the employees. Upon entering Bagel Station this morning, I immediately heard shouting about snap bracelets and a memory box. I can't even exaggerate when I say this woman was shouting so loudly, I could hear her over all the machinery and radios. She was basically screaming. The entire time I was ordering and waiting for my food, she was shouting about how her wedding was so fun, even though her ex is her ex. She said her dad had 40-50 drinks at her wedding and she's going to bring in a memory box. This woman, this loud-mouth, was shouting the entire time I was in the facility. After taking my payment, she jumped to the person behind me and shouted in my face about helping him, not even giving me two seconds to move. It was so rattling and annoying. Not sure what to make of this place... First of all: the bagels were really good. Pumpernickel actually had the pumpernickel flavor, the garlic/everything/salt bagel base was very good as well. They were thinner when compared to your average bagel- not complaining though as average bagels can often be too dense. Here comes the but, There was literally a swarm of flies just hanging out at the front of the shop. They didn't leave the swarm the 10 minutes I was inside, despite many people walking through it. You can literally see the cloud of flies when you enter, and there is no option but to walk through it. Inside isn't highly decorated, but what there is, is a bunch of famous movie stars from various films. Plus, the locals have staring problems so mind your conversation or you might end up in a scene from Deliverance. Menu: Bagels, muffins, cookies, and various deli style breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Not a real big menu, which is posted as a board on the wall, but the selection is pin point accurate. Service: Extremely slow and apathetic. The owner might care you're a patron, but no one else does. On more than one occasion I had to repeat myself just to get my bagel toasted; order accuracy is not a strong point. Food: Cookies and muffins are pretty tasty, but sorry, the bagels are gummy and chewy. I nearly blew a bubble last time I ate a bagel here. If your namesake revolves around bagels they better be fresher, tastier, and more appealing to eat than a $1.50 bag of Lenders, but unfortunately to me they are not. I stopped in on Sunday morning and ordered a breakfast sandwich along w some bagels. I went over to the refrigerator to look for. 1/4 lb of plain cream cheese and did not see any, just larger sizes. I then asked the woman helping me who was very nice to deal with. She went over to I believe the owner and said I wanted a small container of cream cheese. He then replied to her in clear disgust "like there isn't a thousand of them over there". I went back over to take a second look in case I missed the small sized ones, there were none. I even showed the woman who came over to assist me. As I was talking with the worker I could still hear him mumbling under his breath so I then yelled over to the owner in disgust "You wanna show me where the thousand of them are?" The guy again gave a smart ass type comment and I finally told the woman assisting me forget my order and I walked out. With all that is going on in this world I couldn't believe how this guy reacted, I noticed someone else left a negative reply about the owner as well, so I am glad it's just not me. So many businesses have closed down he should be thankful he is still open. I will never go in here again, instead I saw a bagel place called Firehouse Bagels about a mile away in Hardyston which I will try. Simply the best. My friends in other states beg me to bring them back more bagels each time I visit. Everything bagels are my go to, but the French toast and Asiago ones are also crowd pleasers. I moved to Sparta just over two years ago, found this place and came fairly frequently for breakfast. The Staff was never overly friendly, but never rude or unprofessional. I am disappointed to have to write about my experience this morning which went way beyond unprofessional. There were four of us on line and three people behind the counter working. I walked in on some political discussions...fine...where it took a turn was when the three people behind the counter rambled on about the situation happening with Haitian's trying to enter the country. They went on about how everyone thinks it's ok to let them in until "they move into your neighborhood" and how "expletive" disgusting they are. All four of us stood there on line quietly as the three of them went on. Then, a woman came to the counter from the back, they all got quiet and so I thought, ok maybe she's the boss and she'll address this later. Well she asked the person in front of me how she could help him, then as she began to get what he needed she chimed in with "yea, they are like flies everywhere it's ridiculous". I was there picking up something for someone else and started to walk out...but then decided not to.
