Where to begin. This was the best meal we had in Sandpoint as well as on our vacation. Please let me tell you why. Food, let's start with the stars of the show - the espresso martini (tasted like a melted milkshake ) and the Crème brûlée. Wow so worth getting the dessert. The entree we got included the steak as well as the special of the night , a gnocchi with pea puree, all of it was so good - each bite better than the last. we also got the Brussels sprouts as a starter and they were absolutely on point. We didn't leave anything behind on the plate and were still talking about the food. The server was busy, but gave us plenty of attention and was very kind. The atmosphere was very aesthetic and cute. Great staff and service. The location is cute, we got sat outside next to some flowers. There's an adorable greenhouse with a table inside too! For an appetizer we got the focaccia bread, which is made by a local bakery. Then an out-of-this world flavored butter made in house. The bread was a little dense and needed to rise longer but otherwise great. We both ordered the Steak Frites and were so pleased! Great flavor all around!! We were a little disappointed in the crème brûlée, it had wonderful flavor, however it was not set and very much liquidy. But it was decorated very cute with many thoughtful touches. read more

Was not sure what to expect when we made our reservation. When we arrived there we looked through the menu, which is very creative. I went with my mother and she had a glass of wine and I had a Pixiedust cocktail. It is a complicated recipe and wasn't sure really how it would come out, but I have to say it was perfectly proportioned and all the ingredients melded together. The waiter was very friendly and helpful and explained to us their concept of family style dining, with small plates for sharing. We are not normally accustomed to that but went with the flow. I'll start off with saying that we ordered too much food. They provided each of us with a small maybe 6" plate. Our waiter told us that the kitchen is very small and the dishes would come out one at a time. First, we ordered the Fall Harvest salad. It was rather large and was perfect for sharing. It had pears, apples, fennel, blue cheese, walnuts, and arugula. It was absolutely delicious. We also ordered the steak frites and pan seared sable fish. We asked for medium rare on the steak, and it was cooked as ordered. It had a wonderful parsley gremolata on top, which was delicious, and herbed fries. The Sable fish, or rather black cod, had a nice crispy skin and was perfectly cooked. It was presented nicely over a creamy couscous with a leek type sauce with artichoke hearts and green olives. I thought the dish was very, very good, but I think it could've used just a tad bit more salt to up the flavor profile as it was slightly bland, and maybe some fresh herbs. I think the small plate provided should've been a bit bigger as really I could only taste one item on my plate at a time. Overall, we both really enjoyed our meal. The ambience is classy rustic craftsman - very welcoming. The service by both waiter and bar was marvelous, and the food was the best we've had in Sandpoint. Going back for sure to try more things. The seabass was perfectly cooked and tenderly delicious. Steak was just the way we like it with great potatoes and broccoli. Soup delicious. This place is super cool. The restaurant is very vintage and lots of cool things on the wall with it being an old bank. My girlfriend loved the Get Lucky drink so much she had three of them. Amazing on all levels!!! The Smash Burger was insane - best thing I've eaten in a long time! We will be back for sure!

The food was decent, nothing remarkable but also nothing bad. The atmosphere out side is great, loved the trees/greenery and the water view was beautiful. Service was lacking, our server was friendly to me, but ignored my husband when he would thank her or ask her for something - it was off-putting because we were very polite, yet she seemed irritated that he was speaking to her. In the area working and always like to explore local cuisine. Nice locally owned eatery. Nice outdoor seating with a view. Very relaxing atmosphere that makes you want to stay for awhile. As 2 couples visiting Sandpoint last night, we chose The Bank based on highly Yelp reviews. Entering the restaurant, we were greeted with a slight, inconvenienced glance by the bartender asking if we had reservations at a half-full restaurant in a nearly deserted tourist town. The "hostess" arrived & offered a us a patio table.When we found it to be too chilly outside, her irritation was palpable & she seated us at a table directly adjacent to the kitchen, which had no door. Thank you - message received. Now, for the shining star! Emma was our delightful server! She made an initially bad reception instantly better with warmth, attentiveness, friendliness & nice notes of humor. She offered excellent recommendations from the menu & checked on us often. The food: Very good! Interesting & intriguing offerings off the beaten path. Skip the bougie drinks: they are small & expensive. Would I come back? Perhaps. The Bank has one of those menus that no ordinary human can decipher, so you're going to need guidance from your server. Luckily, I had a great one! She recommended the Vesper and the Bank Boutbon Sour, because she knew I drink like an old man. Both were well balanced and what I'd hoped for. Then, I ordered the Brussels sprouts (yo, this is a meal; you really don't want to order more if you're just one person) and the whipped feta. The Brussels were fantastic (though a few could have been cooked a smidge longer)! I felt like the warm feta should have been a different cheese. Great upscale food in Sandpoint. We've been twice in the past few weeks, once for dinner, once for lunch. Both times, the food and wine were excellent. They have a small, but well-curated wine list and interesting cocktails. The house special margarita and the old-fashioned were on point. For dinner, our group of 4 shared the Brussel sprouts, two salads, and 2 orders of steak frites. The portions for the shareable small plates are very generous. The Brussels were delicious, and the salads (pear, Caesar) were fresh and well-dressed, even though we couldn't find very many pear bites in the salad. The steak frites were excellent - perfectly cooked steak with a lovely sauce, and a big bowl of crispy, hot fries. Our only gripe about the evening is that our server told us all dishes are for sharing, even entrees, and that the kitchen couldn't promise all entrees would come out together. I would have loved to try the shrimp and grits, but instead shared a steak frites with my landlubber husband. For lunch, my husband and I shared the garden salad (fine), and each had a Korean chicken sandwich. Wow. Those sandwiches were amazing. Crispy chicken, tangy sauce, and fresh veggies. We have been wanting to have dinner at The Bank for awhile now so we finally stopped in and had drinks and dinner. We were pleased with the family style eating so portions are perfect for sharing. Their drink menu has great selection from alcohol to non alcoholic drinks for every member of the family. Although pricey for some items Our food was so delish! and you'll realize as we did that you really are getting the most bang for your buck with the family style portions! Overall we will definetely be back and bring family/friends! We did skip dessert only because I had dessert already made at home. But the dessert menu looked great! Nice vibes inside with a trendy bar as you walk in. The menu has many interesting choices: we ordered the deviled eggs, yellowfin, warm olives, crispy cauliflower salad, and steak frites. The deviled eggs were pretty good; the yellowfin was made in a way that is similar to a puttanesca, but poorly balanced with an egg yolk jam that would've been much better served to have been an egg yolk; the olives were fine; the crispy cauliflower salad was terrible: it was weirdly sweet and one has to wonder how they make their citrus vin; the steak frites was well seasoned but overcooked, the garlic fries that came with the steak were very tasty. The end product is a restaurant that's trying hard to be inventive, but falls flat. I would recommend other restaurants in town. read more

Biz model here seems to target a more discerning & demanding consumer (not that is a bad thing) -- a Quick Look at the menu for cocktails & eats will tell you this is not your average bar and grill. We loved our entrees -- Fish and Chips & the amazing Smashburger. The lemonade style drinks were obviously created by a seasoned bartender. Server was pleasant, chatty and knowledgeable. This is one of my favorite places in Sandpoint. I like the sharing style and everything I've tried here I have enjoyed even if I thought I didn't like one of the ingredients they used... they make it delicious somehow. I'm not a huge fan of cauliflower but I can down their cauliflower steak! So good! I loved when they had their glazed carrots on the menu. I do miss things they put on somewhat seasonally and then change. They used to have a crispy rice appetizer that was to die for too. I also enjoy their drinks even though those change too! I've never gone somewhere that has the lesser spirits which is totally up my alley. The service has always been friendly and attentive. I just really enjoy this place. read more
