I was working in the area from the hurricane and I called and booked an appointment and spoke to Tamara. I arrived for my appointment and was greeted by Tamara. She was very polite, cordial and cut my hair the way I needed. The service provided with a hot towel and rinse and shampoo was superb. I highly recommend this business and Tamara And it is well worth the price. There's plenty of parking in the shop is very well kept. Maybe I'm spoiled. One of the things I DREAD about moving is finding a new barbershop. So as one of Tampa area's new residents, I went out in search of a haircut. I made an appt on a Saturday afternoon fully expecting to be told try Monday. To their credit, The Barbershop did not, but instead fit me in. So I recommend them for that. The place is neat and professional, so praise for that. I suppose they offer peanuts and water but I'm there for a haircut. Unfortunately, the cut was so-so. I'm used to at least being offered a hot towel for a $20 haircut. Also a neck shave. Heck some places even give you a shoulder massage. Nope. None of that here. The cut was okay but the barber kept making jokes about the prior customer. Not cool. Anyhow if I had to score it I'd give them a solid 65% out of 100%. Doubt I'll be back. I have been going here for years and the staff is always different except for one guy who has been there forever. I am not comfortable with him and have gotten several cuts that weren't what I wanted and were very uneven. I walked in and when he was the available stylist I opted to wait for the next available... Holy crap was that a mistake. Started with a spray bottle and managed to squirt me right in the eye.The stylist I was seated with seemed like it was his first time seeing scissors. I told him that I wanted about an inch taken off [ my hair was past my collar] and he cut closer to 6 inches off. He was poking around snipping chunks off and when I realized how much he had removed and said something. He panicked and called over the manager who was the guy who I had told that I didn't want to cut my hair in the first place. Skippy has a melt down and decides that since I wasn't happy with the stylist cutting 6" when I told him about an inch that I was the problem and he proudly shouted that he was going to bar me from being a customer in the future. My response was thank you for putting it in the computer just incase I forgot how bad of a cut I got and actually came back to have the butchershop chop my hair again. I understand why the staff is never the same since the manager is a prick and a really incompetent stylist. I am quite sure that he's a large portion of the reason why everytime I have been there for over 5 years the staff is always different. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

Absolutely 2000% customer service level! They do the whole works and enjoy their job! My fiancé got an amazing haircut and advice on how to style it really easy with regular styling products. Very friendly atmosphere and Rae is very nice and delivers a good haircut. After dozens of visits to sports clips and Supercuts and never knowing who is going to cut my hair, after visiting various barbershops that charge from $12-35 for the same haircut I think I've found a place and person to stick with. The atmosphere is comfortable and geared toward guys. You know; peanuts at the door, TVs on the walls etc. I could care less about the TV, I'm not there long enough to watch anything and Rae can have a conversation. Barbers are very skilled in this place. Last time I had MO cut my hair and trimmed my beard. She did a great job edging it up after applying a hot towel on my face and it was very smooth experience. Since a haircut is all about details, MO was an artist. She even gave me 3 options on how I want my neck line to be, squared, rounded or faded into the rest of the head hair! IMy boyfriend went here because I wanted to treat him to a haircut I thought it would be nice. When he came home the back for his hair was not even it was at an angle so I had to re-shave it. I asked him about the massage, peanuts and if they offered him a coffee he said he got the massage but nothing else. Although this place is set up for the mans delight I still dare to go there for my cut. It's the best shaved undercut I've had, Shannon perfects it for me every visit. We get a quick girl talk in, once in a while I'm even treated to a kool design on the side by Scott. This place is kinda like a salon for men so if your into great services, a good cut with a smile then go here. Only $12 for all of their concierge type treatment is an amazing value. They want a "man's" barbershop atmosphere but the Katy Perry music bumping through the walls with the additional club music doesn't match. The girls there match a superclips not a man's barbershop. The prices are fare, and the haircuts are good, not great. I would give 3.5 stars if I could. Not a bad place, just not great. Peanuts are a plus though. read more

I just googled a barber on my way home and found this place. I cut my boys' hair myself, but if I'm not in the mood for complaining that I take too long, I take them somewhere. I am usually annoyed that I paid for something that I could do better, but not here! They listen to my requests and do it. They are kid friendly although that's not what they're going for I'm sure. They have a little corner table with legos and an adorable little toddler leather chair to match the men's chairs. I took my boys back to this place a second time even though it was out of the way and took my husband too. He was impressed and it takes a lot to impress him :) It's a good value, friendly coworkers who go out of their way to make me and my kids comfortable, and the best part, I actually like their hair cuts! I don't have to go back and fix their hair by going back with scissors to trim round the ears or cut into the front part more so it's not that Dumb and Dumber thick bowl cut horridness. My boys all left with smiles, and that's my husband, my 9 year old, 7 year old, and 3 year old. I highly recommend this place! read more

You scalped my husband. When I called to schedule an appointment I specifically asked for someone to use Scissors NOT shaver. Not to give him a military cut. He has shaved sidewalls. It's the SHORTEST haircut he's had in 20+ years. No wait. Stylists said he just got out of Barber School. Used a shaver and then scissors. What the heck! They do booming business so i suggest trying out several of the barbers till you find one that does just the way you like it, and then stick with them! After my previous barber retired 3 years ago i was lost in the twilight zone of barber roulette until I found Mo at The Barbershop. She possesses the primary skill that i want in a barber, and that is consistency. She provides me with one less thing to worry about in life in that i know exactly what i'm going to get and i will walk out happier than when i came in. Each time. Every time. My 14 year old son had his hair cut there for the first time today. We even showed the stylist a picture (page 8 of the book) with hair sweeping over to the side. I felt so bad when I saw his glare at me as he walked over to me. She butchered him. His hair was long and she used clippers on all of it...no scissors. WTH!
