My niece's wedding ceremony and reception was this past weekend. The view was stunning, the staff so personable and helpful, the food and service amazing. The barn itself is beautiful. I want to give special thanks to the chef that accommodated my extensive food allergies and made me a delicious and safe meal. I am often just not able to eat at functions. Beautiful location, seemed like the wedding coordinator was fantastic. However, there was a family member in our group that has a medical condition where he falls asleep. The staff kicked him out, even when we told them that we had it handled and that he was fine. They then proceeded to call the police on him. Never once did anyone ask if he was ok. They assumed he was drunk, or on drugs etc. Which he was not. The bartender referred to us as "you people" and screamed at the guests over the one drink each policy. No one had a problem with the policy, we had a problem with her terrible attitude. I understand she may get some groups who don't listen, but yelling at my 70 year old uncle for picking up a drink that almost got knocked over, is a level of rude that is unimaginable. My friend booked a wedding there for a date of October 23, 2023. She booked it in the Spring of 2022 and cancelled it about a month later which was over a year before the wedding date. She had put down a $4,000 deposit, and The Barn will not refund it to her!! They said they will only refund it if another wedding is booked for that day. It has been over a year and she still has not received a refund of her $4,000 because another wedding has not been booked for that date. I cannot believe a business would keep $4,000 of another person's money when they have done nothing at all to earn that money and they had almost 1.5 years to fill that date with another wedding. Terrible example of community, hospitality, kindness, etc. Now my friend's wedding will have to be $4,000 cheaper due to The Barn on the Pemi keeping her deposit. read more
